Ozymandias vs Nick Fury -- I give this one to Fury. The Infinity Formula keeps him at peak condition and he's always packing multiple firearms. Ozy may be able to catch ONE bullet, but let's see how well he does when Fury empties an entire 9 mil magazine at him.

Banshee vs Steel -- I don't see Banshee's scream doing much damage against Steel's high-tech armor. Steel takes this one.

Flash vs Spider-Man -- two great heroes, but I can't imagine Spidey having much of a chance. I once thought his spider-sense would give him an edge, but considering it still takes time for him to react to it, even if only a fraction of a second, that fraction of a second is still plenty of time for Flash to pull a hit-and-run. Even with his spider-sense I don't think Spidey' will see Flash coming.

1. I voted for Nick Fury-They are so equally matched its hard to tell, but when it's that close I give it to the one with more experience, Fury has had much more intense fighting in his time.

2. I didn't vote-Im not super familiar with either one of those guys, I basically know that Banshee could scream pretty loud and Steel is an Ironman knock off. Other than that I don't have the best knowledge of their abilities & powers.

3. I voted for Flash-As much as I LOVE Spidey, Flash just outmatches him, Spider-Sense doesent work as fast as flash cam run.

I'm gonna say Aquaman for the fight, but Ironman and Booster Gold could give him a run for his money.

Ozymandias vs Nick Fury.In all honesty it's a hard call, but I going with Ozymandias the guy doesn't make a move without knowing what he's going to do next in a battle.

Banshee vs Steel.I went with Steel.Silver Banshee is one of Superman rouges and since he's apart of the Super family it's not unlikely that he's has a device that can neutralize her which in theory should probabily work on him.

Flash vs Spiderman.Flash wins. Flash can move at light speed plus when he's moving he can build up momentum that would allow he to hurt super endure opponents.
FOOM - 12/30/2012, 6:16 AM
Its a DC multi win here. Shame cause I hate Steel but its gotta be what its gotta be. Ozymandias is no fav either but I can't see Nick getting the upper hand. Jules Winnfield would be a different story.

Ozy vs Nick Fury. Ozy- This is tough, however based on bios and the comics I've read, Ozy is Cap level abilities, where as Fury is enhanced but still not that level. So I'd have to give this to Ozy.

Banshee vs. Steel - Steel, Banshee is a cooler character but Steel is pretty tough and not much Banshee could do to Steel that he is already isn't ready for. so Steel.

Flash vs Spidey. Great Matchup, but Flash is smart as well and speed is very underestimated. Plus the fact at how fast the Flash actually moves. Flash
SpideyQuad - 12/30/2012, 8:01 AM
I too chose Ozy,. first match where I had to read up on both participants. According to the stats Oz is by far physically superior. Fury's bio says he's at peak, but I gather nowhere near Captain. America's definition of peak. As for weapons you could justify almost anyone bringing a larger weapon. I take this as a physical battle. And don't underestimate the disability of only having one eye. It may be trivial in every day things, but you don't make up for the debt perception in something like a furious physical fight. Heck, I had a friend who lost an eye and he couldn't even catch a softball pop up afterwards, it's not just that cool ornament. (The eyepatch)

I'm sorry but I just can't respect Steel. It's not that I don't like the character either, but out of the four substitute Supermen he is the weakest. and I never could get over that hammer. Positively the most racist thing I've ever read in comics. Banshee is also my favorite new X-Men from the 70s so I'm going with the older experience version.

Spiderman is by far my favorite hero. I can see him taking out some of the Marvel universe speedsters, but in DC universe the Flash is an the omnipotent speedster. His stats are Superman level and maybe beyond. I'm going by the 70s version because I can't keep up with all of these crisis/52 flavors versions so I'm not up to his present stats, but the guy can run around the world in like seven seconds. not to mention his speed force abilities poor Spidey has no chance. Honestly who does?
LoudLon - 12/30/2012, 11:23 AM
I'm not understanding the comparisons between Ozy and Cap. Ozy's an unenhanced human operating at the peak of his own physical abilities, much like Batman, but isn't the enhanced ultimate-human that Cap is.

That said, I think Fury's the one being under-estimated, here. Ozy's never encounted as skilled an opponent as Fury. While he fought off Rorschach and Nite Owl both, notice they kept getting back up and he couldn't permanently put either of them down. Plus Fury is always fully armed. No laser pointer here; dude rolls with automatic weaponry, and lots of it.

I'm not coming down on Ozy. He's a great character -- in HIS world. But his world is filled with street level thugs and, aside from Doc Manhattan, heroes who've never gone up against anyone above their own above-average skill level. I just don't see Ozy gaining an upper hand against as wily, skilled and heavily armed an opponent as Fury.
GuardianDevil - 12/30/2012, 12:06 PM
I agree since when is Ozy's physical strength Cap-level? I say Fury because he has more experience than Ozy. And btw Fury has held his own against Cap & Daredevil, so it's not like Ozy vastly outmatches him.
rottencotten - 12/30/2012, 12:55 PM
Ozymandias- I agree with @Fenix, great match...but S.H.I.E.L.D. we have a hostage situation here...someone call in Cap...

Steel- The poor guy just doesn't get the respect he deserves...He would stand there and laugh at Banshee as he screamed at him, then he would launch his hammer towards Banshee and in the time it would take for Sean to stop screaming his ass would get knocked-out by the hammer of Steel...

Spider-Man- I will always remain with Parker on this fight...Flash has a weakness to ice...which can be easily manipulated for a situation like this...Ice-webbings, etc...Spidey doesn't need his sense because he knows he's fighting a speedster...Pete is too smart not to plan for this type of opponent...and I know Quicksilver is no Flash, but Spidey has whipped the floor with Quicksilver...and at the speed Wally is running...if he gets hit by just one of Spidey's 10-ton strength punches...he's on the floor...

Hellboy for the battle...Had this discussion before...They both have enhanced durability but Aquaman's depends on how long he's been on land where Hellboy doesn't have that weakness...They could continuously pound on each-other but in the long-run Arthur goes down from lack of hydration...
unknownfacts - 12/30/2012, 1:59 PM
@SpideyQaud How is Steel a racist thing?Alot of character in marvel and DC are base off myths and folklore. If you really want to see the most racist thing in comics watch Superfreinds,Apache Cheif,Black Vulcan,Samurai, and El der Rado.Worst idea ever to make a tv show more minority freindly. The origin of the minority characters is pretty bad all the black guys are either ex-cons or ex-marines.All in all their just trying to sell comics that appeals to certain groupe of people like politicians.
aztecRaingod - 12/30/2012, 4:20 PM
Im pretty sure the swamp thing could just make vines grow out of everyones ass. Game over.
SpideyQuad - 12/30/2012, 4:44 PM
The bio says Ozy trained himself into peak condition, but then goes on to say he can broad jump 50yards and clear 20 yards standing still. Then there's the ability to catch bullets with his bare hands. Does that sound like normal peak conditioning? Does any of that sound normal at all. They don't go so far as to compare him to CA, but come on that's where he's headed. Fury on the other hand has long life, but nowhere does it even hint at coming close to what his opponent can do.

In conclusion it's my interpretation Ozyis somewhere between CA and Fury. I agree with LoudLon is not on Capt. America's level.

The whole "John Henry is a hammering man" it's a story or more or less a song that was heard more in the 60s then in modern times. I was a teenager when super friends came out and couldn't stand it, so you got me on that one. Like I said I don't dislike the character. Just the stigma that they had to give him a hammer. I agree 100% that the industry hasn't given minorities a fair shake.
LoudLon - 12/30/2012, 7:43 PM
The bio's wrong. No offense to our pollmaster, but many of the bios are. Nowhere in Watchmen is it even hinted that Ozy is capable of that stuff. Hell, those are Spider-Man level leaps.

Ozy's agile enough to perform complex gymnastics, as witnessed in the part where he's on TV while Dan and Laurie make out. He can catch a bullet (for dramatic effect, despite this being a decidedly and contradictory SUPER-human ability); he's as strong as a man of his size and build can be; and he's a martial arts expert. But look at the people he has physical altercations with in the comic:

1. Comedian -- a 60+ year old street brawler. Still tough by normal standards, but well past his prime. Ozy, being around 40, was still well within his peak.

2. Nite Owl -- while he happens to be my favorite character in the book, he's a tubby, out-of-shape gadget maker whose always relied more on his weapons than his fists.

3. Rorschach -- while he's uncommonly bad-ass for a fighter with no formal training, he gets by mostly on intimidation. However, he's half Ozy's size and you know his vision must be limited considering he's wearing a mask with no eye-holes or slits, and his eyes themselves would have to be useless half the time because half the time they're covered in swirling, black blots of ink.

And Ozy while Ozy put Rorschach and Nite Owl down, they kept getting right back up.

So again I say that while Ozy is a great character in the context of Watchmen, he's seriously, seriously over-hyped in these matches. In a fight he'd lucky enough just to hang against Batman or Daredevil. Put him up against someone like Cap and dude goes down faster than a crack ho's face in your lap.
