More People Need To Check Out Skrull Kill Krew

Dark Reign has spread too far, but Skrull Kill Krew is really pretty cool.

When I went to pick up some comics on Wednesday, I found Dark Reign: Skrull Kill Krew. I had no clue what it was and never heard of it. I thought it was pretty cool, from the cover, I decided to buy the first three issues. When I got home to read it, I found out it was much more than cool.

Reading through the first issue I realized, it had a very unique artistic style to it, with pretty unique characters. Even if the main character Ryder, looks just like the main character from the Bionic Commando reboot for the next gens. Staying on the topic of the characters, the main character is the typical dark, quiet leader example, until a fight goes down and he decimates everything in his path, with really no remorse or empathy. As each issue progressed more characters came to light. The sidekicks all have rather unique abilities, I have never seen before.

The story itself is original and cohesive. The writers provide all of the back story as well. The story was good enough that I can not wait to see what continues to happen. There have been some cameos from big time characters and there is plenty of sex.

I felt that I enjoyed Dark Reign: Skrull Kill Krew as much as I did, because it is able to be really weird, stylistic and edgy because it is a lesser known title and without expectations to live up to. How it applies to dark reign, who knows. I have also read Mr. Negative and Zodiac and neither really have anything to do with Dark Reign. Marvel enjoys the label, so why not. I thought Zodiac was really cool and it the fact that he is obsessed with being a throw back villain, is awesome. Zodiac is a great main character with the ability to really go against Osborn or any other heroes that feels they know how the game is played.

All in all, I am liking these lesser known comics with lesser known characters. It offers very stylistic, original content with really distributed characters. If you are in the mood for something like that, check these out. In the mean time, I will be waiting for Skrull Kill Krew #4.

true that @ANILROCKY i would think an OSBORN established SKRULL KILL KREW would be awesome! not only would it make sense with his "war of terror" ala GEORGE W. and DEADPOOL would be the ideal comic relief of the story. WOLVERINE IS IN UNCANNY AND NEW AVENGERS PLUS HIS SOLO TITLE AND ORIGINS. let DEADPOOL have his moment in the sun. i never read the title b/c i like the fact that its different and unique but it has to tie in alot more too the mainstream "post invasion" shit they got now. keep the main character of the book for this one too though if it were a title. make hiim marvel's RICK FLAGG and DEADPOOL could be the comic relief. throw other weird characters in there like WONDER MAN or something idk make it like a unique stylistic XFORCE (CURRENT) thing but just like you have NEW AND DARK AVENGERS give us a crazy kill squad like XFORCE but surreal. I COULD TOTALLY SEE DAVID MACK drawing it well.

kudoes - @GREENHATTER02 liked the article it made me think! i knew MARVEL was trying to engineer a new "THE HOOD" type of character with ZODIAC they want him to slowly come into the mainstream guaranteed! i told you dude! i heard not alot of people were digging the KILL KREW DARK REIGN shit, i may have to glance at it the next time i can. but if ZODIAC ties in the way i think he will i'll eventually check him out in graphical novel form. but MARVEL shouldnt [frick] around like "THE HOOD" and keep him along the fringe. just grow a pair guys and let him into the mainstream if he's worthy. dont pussyfoot around again ala THE HOOD
