Spidey 4 Teaser Poster a FAKE!

No official artwork has been released for Spider-Man 4 yet!
Earlier this week, AICN took a snapshot at the Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas of what looked like an official teaser poster for Spider-Man 4. No one was impressed with it--looking like a rehash of older posters with no actual new image of spidey and just a big number "4" in the center.

Now SuperheroHype has found out that neither Sony/Columbia nor Marvel had anything to do with it, so it is NOT an official movie poster.

Stay tuned for the real deal closer to the May 6, 2011 release date.

yeah thing is - it was hung up at the expo and who would go to the trouble to hang up a fake? and apparently people were asking Sony reps and they said it was indeed their poster.

who cares - it never showed much anyways. other than a hint of Morbius - even that's a stretch.

It must be fake. Spiderman 4 has no story, no villain, no full cast, why would they have a poster?

I can imagine the big bosses at sony

Boss : "So Sam, what have you come up with so far?"
Sam : "Well, we're working on a script..."
Boss : "A script?!"
Sam : "er, yes, a script. we're trying to come up with a villain for..."
Boss : "A villain?!"
Sam : "Yes."
Boss : "Why?"
Sam : "Well we need it to make a film."
Boss : "I'll tell you what we need! POSTERS!"
Sam : "But we need to work on the mistakes we made on 3 so we need to..."
Boss : "The ONLY mistake on 3 was that we didn't get posters out soon enough! Forget the story, forget the villain. I WANT POSTERS!"

I'm glad... That 4 looked stupid, lol.

I'm so biased for my love of numbers... I'd NEVER see that movie because of what they did to my precious #4...

This movie will chug the provebial man milk straight outta the container. Just like the 2 movies before it. I said 2, even though the director's cut of S2 was better.

the question going around is why was it up at the Expo and Sony saying it was theres? maybe this is their way of backing out because no one was impressed

Hmm... yeah fake or not the poster didnt show much. It may be hinting, with the sunset and all, that there might be a horror theme with the next movie. Raimi may have hinted at that as well in the interview a bit back. If thats the case, Morbius and Lizard would be the obvious villians since both work well with the horror theme (be it vampire or marauding monster), though Hobgoblin and Carnage are unlikely but not out of the realm of possibilities.

Though, if im not mistaken, the covers of spiderman 1 and 2 had similar backgrounds to them as well so who knows?

An @ Shadowelfz @ id prefer CARNAGE in the VENOM flick myself, then spin a CARNAGE R-RATED Horror movie outta that!!! He's as good as any of the classics like Freddy, Jason, Myers!!!

Yeah I hear ya, Leee. Putting carnage in one of the normal spiderman movies would be awful since he would be restricted by the PG-13 limit studios put on most big budget projects. You simply cant do justice to a character named carnage in any movie with a rating below R. If he had a smaller project that wasnt a blockbuster (like Punisher Warzone) the studios wouldnt worry as much about the rating and we can see him in all his gore-covered glory. Hell even if they did a CG movie (a la Final Fantasy Advent Children) featuring Carnage and Venom would be cool since they can get away with all the nastiness.

Oh and yeah your also right about Carnage being as scary as Freddy and Jason. I remember having a Carnage book waaaay back that showed his origin as a kid killing his parents with meat cleavers and obsessively watching the JFK assassination... freakin creepy.

Joshw24 I think he supposed to be 'playing' carnage since the characters name is listed at the bottom along with the others, so by process of elimination it has to be him ;)
