Seth Rogen On The Green Hornet Sequel: "Not Any Time In The Foreseeable Future"

Probably for the better that it stays out of the public eye until 10 years passes before a more serious take on it. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed the humor infused version of the character, it was missing a decent script and characterization to put it among the upper tier of First Class, Thor, etc.

Hornet was not great by any means, but totally watchable (Kato Vision was cool). I would have loved to see what Kevin Smith was planning on doing with it when he was still attached:

MAYBE BECAUSE IT WAS A BIG, STEAMING PILE OF HORSE SHIT! Of course, that's just my opinion, but Rogen could at least acknowledge how terrible the film was, kinda like how Kevin Smith did with Cop Out. Seriously, the only funny scene was with James Franco, which managed to bring my expectations up for a film I thought would be quite funny.

the movie was garbage, seth rogen had no business being involved with green hornet at all. the asian guy in it (i forget his name) he was the only decent thing in the movie. it was a shame that christoph waltz who was the main villain did such a crappy job in the movie, he is a good actor and did such an amazing job in inglorious basterds. any true fan of green hornet who grew up watching the old series with bruce lee shouldnt like this at all. i hope we dont see a sequal but a well deserved reboot that doesnt have a freaking comedian as the lead role.

Again obviously you have no idea of the source material particularly the TV series of the 60's. If you are you wouldn't be defending such a crappy movie.

Let's put it this way, why did you think Superman III and Schumacher's Batman and Robin was so despised by CBM fans. Think about it, would it feel right to portray Captain America as a bonehead ?

I have nothing against inserting humour to CBM or having comedian portray them as long as they are appropriate and DOESNOT deviate from the character. Robert Downey Jr. IronMan /Tony Stark was mostly funny but remained true to the character. Chris Reeve nerdy portrayal was limited only to Clark Kent but never to SUPERMNAN. Michael Keaton a well known character actor-comedian played both straight as Bruce Wayne and Batman. Of course there are funny situations as Bruce Wayne but never as BATMAN. Even Adam Wests in 60's portrayed the Caped Crusader as a dependable hero not as bonehead. Chris Evans was a riot in the Fantastic Four because Torch was funny. But as Captain America Chris was serious and allowed a few humorous situations . CBMs does need humour to be entertaining. But NEVER DEVIATE FROM THE CHARACTER or worse make a mockery of the source material.

Unwatchable and dumb as shit.

Green Hornet was created as a knock-off to the Batman series. With Batman being such a success, the studio wanted another hit, and with Bruce Lee on board it still was a failure. I for one enjoyed the opening sequence, but it WASN'T Batman, and it was obvious the show was made as a bad rip-off. When I saw the new take on this character, I loved it. The balance of humor and action was awesome. The characters Hornet and Kato had charisma for once and the effects as well as the art direction were great. Out of all the garbage pumped out by Hollywood and deemed significant, I can hardly agree that this film is the worst outing in the last few years. The haters are probably Broke Back Mountain fans. I give Hornet two thumbs up!

The Green Hornet exceeded my expectations. It was a really fun movie with a different take on it than most other comic book films. Take it for what it is, an action comedy. I thought it was very well done and would like to see another.

skip the sequel, go for the reboot..... in 10 years.

Good cause he was the worst part of the film! Not nearly as bad as I feared but still not the right tone for me. Jay Chou was awesome though! There's a French made fan film that was better than the thetrical film. It didn't need to be 100% serious but still.
