Doopie's Doodles: The Four Metallic Arms

I'm not gonna lie, this is a re-release but I didn't think it got enough love the first time round so here it is again. Come and enjoy NovaCorpsFan's comic, centred around The Four Metallic Arms - a pub run by none other than Otto Octavius.

@NovaCorpsFan You sir, have won the internet.

I remember reading this. This is great stuff. Kind of messed up how Deadpool, It's not like there's an anti-hero bar around...right?

@Doopie

Hey Doopie, big fan of your work and sure as hell this one. I'd like to know if you're open to more writers and adapting their stories, because I'm aspiring myself.
Doopie - 7/9/2014, 7:23 AM
@Superior

Thanks man. I am always open to drawing people's stuff but unfortunately at the moment I am swamped. I've got two full comics on the go and some illustrations for something else so sadly, right now I can't help. Sorry!

But keep writing though, there are other artists on the site so if you put out a script and ask for someone's art skills, you may just get a response. Good luck!
Superior - 7/9/2014, 7:32 AM
@Doopie

Whoa, two comics? Great job, man! But yeah, I totally understand. I'll be sure to keep writing and you be sure to keep drawing. Good luck to you, too, Doops.
Doopie - 7/9/2014, 7:46 AM
Thanks again bud. You never know, in the future when I'm not as busy maybe we could sort something out
cipher - 7/9/2014, 9:00 AM
Brilliant, mate. Brilliant.

I love the stuff that's going on in the background. Heh, Kingpin got turned down for being an insufferable twat..

Hahahahaha. Thumbs up.

:)
Gusto - 7/9/2014, 10:02 AM

FlixMentallo21 - 7/9/2014, 11:14 AM
Nice to see this again, the fanfic section could use more funny stuff, at least until I do my fancast of "The Tick".

When you have a moment, check out my Robotech fancast: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fan_fic/news/?a=103154.
TheAbaryMan369 - 7/9/2014, 11:15 AM
Amazing. I remember this from before. I am in love with the last panel. They are all brilliantly done, especially Dr Cortex, who I am genuinely surprised made an appearance! Oh, and the inclusion of Gusto is phenomenal.
TheManFromMars - 7/9/2014, 11:15 AM
Best one yet, Doop!
BenjiWest - 7/9/2014, 12:35 PM
Dat last panel do (see, I'm interneting, yea!!) This was truly outstanding work by you guys. I remember it well, as it helped to influence me in writing my own fan fics for the site. Great jobs Doop and NCF, all my thumbs be yours!!
V8ER - 7/9/2014, 2:34 PM
Haha this was great man. I loved all the cameos. Especially the Brain's.
Doopie - 7/9/2014, 4:17 PM
Thanks for all the awesome comments everyone, I'm glad this helped you out @BenjiWest. But credit should really go to Nova for the ace script - I just draw the pictures.

@FlixMentallo21 -- I'm a massive fan of the Tick so I look forward to that one. I'll keep my eyes peeled.
LEOSTRATOR - 7/9/2014, 4:19 PM
Nice work Doopie, looking forward to seeing the two comics your working on.
NovaCorpsFan - 7/9/2014, 4:35 PM
@Doopie

We're gonna have a modest-off now, honestly, I've always thought the artist is more deserved of credit. Without your art, my scripts would never have seen the light of day (at least not the current ones) and I owe you big time for actually taking the time to take something I worked at for maybe a day and you turned it into something I never really thought I'd see it as. You have no idea how humbling it is to have a talent like yourself bring my brainsplatters to life like this and honestly, man, I cannot be more thankful to you for taking on my imagination and making it real.

And it's not like either of us are gaining from this. Sure, people see these and they read them and it's gratifying for us to receive such good responses, but we do this because we enjoy it. We do it because of a love for storytelling no matter how brief or how ridiculous it is, we do it because we want to entertain and we want people to see what we've worked on and we want them to take pleasure from it.

That's the philosophy that keeps me writing. The idea that not only am I creating a world that even for a few seconds people invest themselves into, but that it can be related back to no matter who, where, or when you are. It's out there and it can be in someone's life, even if only briefly. And that wouldn't fully happen without your illustrations Doop. I genuinely owe you a debt of gratitude, man, not because you drew the story, but because you made that world a thing of substance, depth and relatability rather than just words on a page.

I can't express the full magnitude of how grateful I am that you took the time to bring life to my scripts but on the highest level possible I just have to say: Thank you.
Doopie - 7/9/2014, 4:46 PM
@NovaCorpsFan

wow, don't really know what to say dude! We do this for the same reasons I think - I love telling stories just for the sake of it but it's an extra bonus when it can affect other people and possibly inspire them to do stuff of their own - that right there is probably the highest honour for me. And that inspiration works both ways; the script inspired me!

I put quite a bit of effort into this one but without the script in the first place, I'm nowhere! It's that collaboration that is genuinely satisfying too. To see a script, be inspired from it then have the writer enjoy it makes me happy.

Thanks Nova and keep the funhouses coming, one of these days I want to do another one
NovaCorpsFan - 7/9/2014, 4:58 PM
@Doopie

Yeah, it's great to see even that people are being inspired by what we've done, like @BenjiWest and I'd love to see one of his Tales of the Supermax illustrated by someone, because they're brilliant and he really works at them and maintains a story (something I've only done on two occasions).

I'll get working on another Funhouse soon, I've got one ready to post later on but I feel like it's been a while since I did a big one like this.
Doopie - 7/9/2014, 5:03 PM
I look forward to it mate. Me and Benji have tossed around a couple of ideas for a comic and I really wanna do something with him soon as I think his scripts are great and his sense of humour matches up well with my own.

I've gotta get OAU hawkeye 1 and your SS 2 completed first though!
NovaCorpsFan - 7/9/2014, 5:11 PM
How's SS coming along actually? The first one looked great.
NovaCorpsFan - 7/9/2014, 5:16 PM
I just came up with the next big Funhouse... The Castle Inn. Thanks to @ndwrestler2 as soon as you said anti-heroes pub I thought of Punisher and shockingly my local nightclub is also called the Castle Inn (despite the fact it's a club that used to be the servant's quarters for the adjacent castle). So, there you go, guys, now y'all know what to anticipate.
Doopie - 7/9/2014, 5:51 PM
SS could be further along to be honest. I took a little break from the OAU stuff as it was quite labour intensive but I'm back on it now. The layout's are pretty much done, just gotta put the final pencils over it and then ink it. I want it to look as good as it can though so forgive the extensive production time.

The Castle Inn huh? could be competition for Otto....lot's of gags to be had with anti-heroes
dio - 7/9/2014, 6:08 PM

RobtimusPrime - 7/9/2014, 6:37 PM

I'm already brainstorming one-liners, Doop.

Oh yeah, I've always found the "[frick] OFF!" doormat to be the best thing about this.
