Back when Star Wars Episode VII was first announced, there was a rumour that Lucasfilm was looking at the likes of Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron for a role in the movie. Whilst promoting his new film, That Awkward Moment, he revealed that he met with the crew of the next Star Wars film for some discussions.

Efron said, “If they do a young Yoda, then I want to be that.” When co-star Teller pointed out that Efron was one of the first names rumored when the film was first announced , Efron admitted, “Yeah, I just went and met with them, you know. So I don’t know. Yeah, it would be cool. It would be fun. I love them. I love them, but who knows.” His 'That Awkward moment' co-star Michael B Jordan auditioned for a role in the film too. It's not quite clear what the role the Michael auditioned for and what role Zac's meeting with the crew was for. What do you guys think?

Star Wars Episode VII is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on December 18, 2015.

Hey.... he could make a great LEX LUTHOR!?!

Omg plz no
GizmoEl - 2/1/2014, 10:58 AM
I wouldn't mind seeing him in a star wars role. If he is cast, I hope he knocks it out of the park so he's not typecast anymore
batz11 - 2/1/2014, 10:59 AM
Really? You know, the dudes not a terrible actor, but...

batz11 - 2/1/2014, 11:01 AM
batz11 - 2/1/2014, 11:02 AM
Yeah, I don't even consider him a Disney child actor anymore, he'd be fine by me...
McNyagano - 2/1/2014, 11:03 AM

LOL wtf?!
BlackIceJoe - 2/1/2014, 11:04 AM

I was going to post that picture but you did before I could.

I will say this after he has been distancing himself from Disney. He is a good actor. Is he right for Star Wars maybe he is or maybe not.
TheFirstAvenger97 - 2/1/2014, 11:23 AM
This will be the start of something new.
Desrow - 2/1/2014, 11:23 AM
Unlike Eisenberg, Effron it's a terrible actor.
charlie2094 - 2/1/2014, 11:30 AM
Honestly, he's not a bad actor and he's definitely shed the Disney image he had so wouldn't mind seeing him in a role...obviously I'm sure many many actors have had meetings with them about Star Wars, but wouldn't mind this one

I have nothing against Efron. That being said, come the [frick] on! Cast unknown people for God sakes!

Yeah what TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM said ^

Cast unknown people for God sakes!

ndwwrestler2 - 2/1/2014, 11:37 AM
Who hasn't met for this movie? Seriously.

@TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM Ok. Why can't we have a mixture of both? I mean if DDL (A.K.A Daniel Day Lewis) was interested in a Star Wars movie, would you say
"No we are looking for someone who is a little less known"? Hell no. You would say yes in a heartbeat.

I don't care if the actor is unknown or a 3 time Oscar Winner, I want good (or decent) acting in Star Wars.
Humperdink - 2/1/2014, 11:38 AM

The only thing I know about Effron is that teenage girls always say they are crushing on him and he's in a new rom-com.

If he's a good actor I'm cool with this, I guess.

I'm usually dubious when it comes to pretty boys and good acting since they usually don't mix, but then again, look at Mark Hamill when he was in Star Wars. Dude was a teenage heartthrob.
MrCBM56 - 2/1/2014, 11:39 AM
Than when they cast an unknown people will lose their shit.
driver - 2/1/2014, 12:01 PM

Efron: Can I be in new Star Wars please? I danced for ya in that shitty musicales didn't I?

Disney: Yeah, I guess.

Efron: Anything, please!!!

Disney(blocking phone with his palm): J.J this lil' prick wants to be in Star Wars. Do we have anything for him?

J.J.Abrams: Well, he can be a Stormtrooper #231, what is his height?

Disney; Don't know, short.

J.J.Abrams: Faqing Ewok !

I want unknown people for a few reasons.

1. They're cheaper. This means more money goes into the actual story and let's say special effects.

2. Not famous. They're sort of new on the block. A fresh face, not to mention they won't be as stuck up as some, demanding more money and what not.

3. Star Wars has always been associated with relatively unknown folks. It's their formula. Carrie, Harrison, Mark, Hayden, Samuel, Ewan, Natalie, etc.

They were all unknown. Having only a few films under their belts. And usually it's the newbies that can sell these characters off as memorable and somewhat realistic.

By the way, "That awkward moment" is gotta be one of the worst movie titles in recent memory.
Do you guys remember that SNL skit with Charles Barkeley? "'Awkward' is a word white people use to describe just about any situation."
Firgosaurus - 2/1/2014, 12:22 PM
Efron is aite.
Firgosaurus - 2/1/2014, 12:24 PM
Um Gambit,

Lucas was cheap as fvck. For him finding the right talent at the right price is imperative. That's not a knock on him. He's just really good at budgeting his money and how to work around things he is lacking.

Disney on the other hand can pay out handsomely and can get the best of the best, Hollywood has to offer.

Lucas went for the unknown for the sole reason of not having the biggest budget at the time.
Pasto - 2/1/2014, 12:28 PM
I said what-what? In the butt.
BlackIceJoe - 2/1/2014, 12:34 PM
He is a lot better these days watch him in the movie Parkland or Me and Orson Welles. That being said like I said earlier I am not sure if he is the right fit for Star Wars.
l0rdleg0las - 2/1/2014, 1:00 PM
I don't mind the guy. I don't see him in.Star Wars but I think he could be a pretty good Nightwing.
superhero9 - 2/1/2014, 8:30 PM
I always thought him or Leo for a Solo kid
JokerFanHAhaHA - 2/1/2014, 11:00 PM
..... WHY would they cast unknown people? They didn't even cast unknowns for the ORIGINAL TRILOGY. That makes no sense.
JediPhilosopher - 2/2/2014, 4:07 AM
The word "awkward" isn't usually ever used to describe situations or conversations that are going well. So to say white people use it to describe every situation is actually awkward. :P
