Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014.

Second best to the Avengers! I dunno why, but to me this looks like it has that X-Men feel to it.
Nomis - 2/18/2014, 6:40 AM
@ Tchalla-I hope you're talking about the X-men comics and NOT the movies?

I raped the replay button.
PanthaSophomore - 2/18/2014, 6:44 AM
@Nomis Haha, Actually I was talking about the films. The way the X-Men team assembled in one film is similar to how these guys assemble in this films. Just seeing a brand new team assemble in one film is great!
miklonus - 2/18/2014, 6:45 AM
I live in a world where people are looking FORWARD to this. "this" = a f_cking guardians of the galaxy movie. Thing I realized about Marvel Studios movies is that they look hgih concept on paper, but the actual movies under the hood are anything but. They're vanilla, bland, and safe as f_ck. Sad thing is these dickheads nowadays will praise anything - you scoop a spoon in shit and they'll eat it - and that gets passed off as excellent. The bar for comic book-based movies is seriously low.
blvdnoise - 2/18/2014, 6:46 AM

@ TChalla - Okay, I see where you coming from.

But I think the Avengers showed us in a better way how a team of different heroes assemble better than the X-men movie since the majority of the team was already together when proof x was explaining it to Wolverine.

The only one that wasn't "part of the team" was Wolverine.

spidey1994 - 2/18/2014, 6:50 AM
My body is ready.
MsDarkPhoenix - 2/18/2014, 6:50 AM
@miklonus Sorry but I don't agree with you! Marvel is making a movie with a talking tree and a talking raccoon!! How is that 'safe'??

Half these bullshit-ass "movie" fans at this site and abroad don't even know about the guardians of the galaxy and didn't even give a f_ck about them before the announcement of the movie came.

It's like Marvel's movies, of the chracters that they own and haven't sold away to other companies, are cheap as shit or they take the most unheard of character and lamest character and try to make a movie out of that.

Iron Man, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Ant f_cking Man,Thor, Captain America, the list goes on. Unfortunately their best characters are owned by other studios.

Hands down their best villain is being mangled and has been mangled in the past by Fox. Doctor Doom.

Iron Man has 3, no, 4, movies and he has yet to produce even ONE villain on the same level as a Ra's al Ghul, or Doom, or...hell, I'm aiming high by naming those guys.

If Marvel Studios live-action movies approached their characters with even half the seriousness, better yet, in their case, ALL of the seriousness that the Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon approached their characters in the second half of the first season and all of the second season, then Marvel Studios would be unstoppable and their characters wouldn't look so uninspired, but as-is, their live-action movies bore the shit out of me, similar to Nolan and his anti-DC, anti-Batman Batman movies.

DC is a whole other ball of bullshit wax.
DaVinci31 - 2/18/2014, 6:54 AM
Dat synopsis tho'

The movie teams five disparate personalities: Peter Quill (Pratt), aka Star-Lord, was taken from Earth as a 9-year-old, possesses a mysterious orb artifact and pilots the Milano, a muscle car of a spaceship. Gamora (Zoe Saldana) is connected to Thanos, arguably the cosmos’ biggest baddie. Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista) is a muscular dude you don’t want to upset. And then there are the aliens Rocket Raccoon and Groot (computer-generated characters voiced by Bradley Cooper andVin Diesel, respectively), who are best pals and potentially the biggest things to happen to pop culture since Chewbacca.

Their stories converge in the space prison Kyln. After the characters break out, they venture to Knowhere (the severed head of a celestial being that serves as a hangout for aliens) and visit the weird menagerie of the Collector (Benicio Del Toro). They also have to avoid two villains, Ronan (Lee Pace) and Nebula (Karen Gillan), who are in hot pursuit of Quill’s orb, which has the power to destroy the galaxy.

I have such a good feeling about this film. I highly doubt it'll make avengers or iron man money but it think it might be marvels best film. I had this kind of feeling for avengers but none of the other marvel films. I can't wait.
MrMartinMarvel - 2/18/2014, 6:55 AM
@GizmoEl God bless you sir! Time to wank in high quality!

@ Nomis

Rogue wasn't a team member either.
GizmoEl - 2/18/2014, 6:56 AM
Nebula ftw
miklonus - 2/18/2014, 6:57 AM
Lozzy take the dick out your mouth. Keep your low-ass standards over there to yourself.

Before you start your bullshit my favorite, well, "Marvel" movies are Blade, parts of X-men 2, parts of Iron Man, and the end battle sequence in Avengers.

Most of my favorite DC movies weren't even made in the last 20 years, which is a "joke".
