Snow White and the Huntsman: DVD Review
Check out my thoughts on Rupert Sanders directorial debut.

On the surface, Snow White and the Huntsman is a beautiful looking piece of film making. I'm sorry, there is no denying it. But, once you watch the movie itself, it's still a good movie but what does it take away from making it great? Check out below
Acting: Alot of critics felt this movie had uneven acting, I for one didn't think so. I personally felt that this was Chris Hemsworth's best role. Kristen Stewart (whom I always felt was more of a dry actor than Nic Cage) actually shows some acting ability here and I really like it. Charlize Theron, while not her best role in her career, still makes the best of it and she does a damn fine job of it. I would post every actor but it would be too time consuming. So overall, I thought the acting was great. Particularly praising Hemsworth's performance.
Directing: For his debut film as a director, I think Rupert Sanders did an amazing job. I don't know if the script was written before or after he came onto the project but it was a fairly weak script and as with most movies, this one was predictable. Even just by the title. But, I didn't think it was as weak as some movies are.
Visual Effects: The visual effects were great in this movie. I really don't know how else to put it.
Editing: I thought the editing kept the story going, didn't lose track or slow down pacing. The editors did a very good job of not loosing sight of the story and it shows in the movie.
Score: The film's score was dark, tragic, and it was very fitting as it should be and I think that more people should appreciate the score. Although, I haven't heard any complaints in that department.
Final thoughts: Overall, I think that despite as weak as the script is, the performances and the directing itself makes up for it. As stated before, I think it's a very beautiful looking movie, maybe the most beautiful I've ever seen. I think the film should be appreciated a little more than what it's been given. I'm giving SWATH a 3 1/2 out of 5.
