Marvel Studios have made a landmark deal with Sony to bring Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Do you comic book movie fans think Kevin Feige should go after Fox's X-Men, Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer next?

Spider-Man isn't the first Marvel character to return after the company sold may character rights in the mid-90s to stave off bankruptcy.  Daredevil, Ghost Rider, Punisher and Blade have all returned to Marvel due to one reason or another.  But without a doubt, Spider-Man is definitely Kevin Feige's biggest coup to date.  But there's still one significant Marvel franchise currently housed at another film studio - the X-Men.  Any by extension, the Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer and Galactus.  Marvel is definitely interested in regaining the rights to Silver Surfer and Galactus as they reportedly proposed this trade back when Fox was scrambling to hold on to Daredevil.  However, there's a big difference between what Sony did with The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and what Fox is doing with X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past.  Where Sony delivered a much derided product, Fox has rebounded from the critical failure of X-Men: The Last Stand and has a stable of young talent (Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence) to keep the franchise going.  With this in mind, Marvel won't be able to sit back and wait for there to be blood in the water, if they want to regain the X-Men, they'll have to aggressively negotiate with Fox.  Is that something you, the comic book movie faithful, would want Marvel Studios to pursue?  If Marvel did indeed regain all their characters from Fox, it would probably mean a smaller number of superhero films each summer.  Would you be okay with that if that meant Wolverine, Thing and Storm could interact with Captain America, Hulk and Black Panther?

Timing would be good right now. Once Apocalypse wraps they'll be finished with the "First Class Trilogy" of prequels. Could present a golden opportunity to jump to the present day in coordination with Marvel Studios and integrating into their MCU plans.

Won't be an easy deal to hammer out, but could be orchestrated with the right folks involved from both sides.

X-Men is fine on its own. Marvel should go after Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, and Galactus to expand the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Yes! I want proper castings of Cyclops, Rogue, and Storm!! I don't want monochrome costumes where the villains and X-Men share the same tailor!

I don't care who has the rights to wolverine but someone put him in the yellow costume already. No more of these glorified motorcycle outfits he's been wearing forever.

Nobody's given a truly legitimate reason for Marvel NOT to go after Xmen. If Marvel Studios can pull off something as grim as The Winter Soldier and what looks like a MUCH darker Avengers film, Xmen properties would be in good hands.

Hell yes! Revert and reboot without any FOX involvement.

Yeah...pretty much the only people who want this are Marvel Studios dick riders. I've said it before and I'll say it again; unlike Sony, Fox is actually doing a good job with their cinematic universe, arguably better than the MCU in some respects.

And any arguments that MS should have it because "they stick closer to the comics" is a load of bullshit.

Sorry for sounding like a hater, I just wish people would be more open minded.

Nope the story lines would not mesh at all!!!!!!

You have The MCU and it heroes well received and loved by the general public...... for instance in Agents of Shield the first episode it shows that they even were making toys modeled after the heroes to sell to kids.

On the other hand the story of the X Men in comics and in movies is that they are hated and feared by the general public and gov........ so trying to shoe horn that into the MCU would not make sense.

Also the X Men is a large universe within itself, so to me keep them separate.

Now if they want to use a couple of characters like Wolverine and the twins to keep their origins intact than go ahead.

Also Marvel sold the movie rights to Spider-Man and the x-men years ago, so it's not exactly like they're entitled to it

@Kmore14

I am going to be nice but your comment is so ignorant! Why won't they give the properties back to Marvel???? Because they do not have toooooooooo! Marvel sold the rights when they were hard up for cash!!!!!

You should be upset with Marvel not FOX or SONY.

And I am sure the next poll with be for the F4......I personally do not care for the F4 they are kinda of lame characters IMO. Though the character attached to them is a different story......

Dr Doom

Silver Surfer

Galactus

These characters alone would be a nice addition to the MCU.

Instead of whining give the rights back to Marvel, give the rights back to Marvel...Marveliteheads should ask Marvel, why the hell you gave the rights in the first place? And if you didn't have a Studio then, why not given ALL THE RIGHTS to one Studio instead of selling it like a hooker every where.

Why would they give the rights back? Why? Just think for a second sheeps.

I would like Fox to finish what they started. Maybe 3 or 4 more movies to finish it off then reboot. Then they can work with Marvel in phase 4 or so with the rebooted property.

LMAO! Sheep is right or should I say spoiled sheep. Dang certain Marvel fans feel as though they are entitled. Yet they do not seem to sit back and look at the awesomeness of the MCU and say their prayers for it.

Instead it is whine and complain about rights reverting etc..

Also people keep in mind the rights are not back for Spiderman, he is on loan from SONY!

I really wouldn't mind Fox making the X-men movies since it would most likely insure more X-men movies being made then if Marvel had to try to fit them into their crowded schedule but since Fox seems incapable of showcasing a team movie that highlights more than the same four mutants (and not the wrong four at that) that shows them fighting huge battles in colorful comic book costumes then I guess I have to be for the X-men to return to Marvel. But in reality only Wolverine, the Brood and the Shi'ar do I care a lot about being part of the MCU. The X-men can exist as a great universe in and of itself.
