They were definitely lost when writing Season 6. They had some cool ideas with the "alphas" and Eve but that went nowhere. They should've stuck with that instead of Castiel's secret war. Season 7 was a little better, but still not great. The Leviathan plot could have been really good, but again they fell short. Season 8 has been well-done so far. I like where Jeremy Carver has taken the show; he did a great job on Being Human.
