POLL: The Avengers VS X-Men

POLL: The Avengers VS X-Men POLL: The Avengers VS X-Men

Cast your vote for the Marvel team you think would emerge victorious in a confrontation between The X-Men and The Avengers.

Feature Opinion

This weeks VS match up finds two of Marvels premier super teams going head to head. In one corner we have every body's favorite gang of mutants The X-Men who now have 5 feature length films to their credit to
go along with their numerous numerous animated incarnations.

In corner #2 we have Marvels long time protectors of Earth The Avengers, who themselves have had multiple animated adaptations and 5 feature films leading up to the release of a 6th next summer.

Read The Following Before Voting!

There are literally hundreds of characters to choose from on both sides when trying to create a team sooooo, in an effort to keep all the voters focused on the same fight, I have taken the liberty of choosing who would be fighting on each team.

Seeing as how there have been (and as far as we know, will be) only six Avengers on screen up untill now, those are the six we are going with. Don't even bother asking me why Nick Fury, Agent Caulson or Maria Hill aren't on the list. They are members of SHIELD, they are not Avengers by proxy simply because they are part of the movies.

The Avengers

Captain America
Thor
Iron Man
The Hulk
Hawkeye
The Black Widow

The X-Men were a little bit more difficult to choose and still have it be a fair choice, so I decided to piece together a classic version of their team (each one of these characters are in at least one of the films) that catapulted The X-Men to their current place as one of Marvels favorites. I know there are many of you who are going to scream that you may have went with a different roster but this is the one that took the X-Men from cancellation to a dominant force in the Marvel universe. If it wasn't for this line up, it's very possible that there would never have been any X-Men films.

X-Men

Cyclops
Phoenix
Storm
Wolverine
Colossus
Banshee
Nightcrawler

Please vote below and take the time to discuss your choice in the comments section.

the avengers have less team members but i think they'll beat fox's watered down x-men characters.i.e wolverine is not as bad ass as his comic counterpart.

Well... since Wolverine is practically immortal, I have to go with the X-Men. Although Hulk is too to some degree. Cap as well except Logan can just cut his head off if need-be. I'm going with: It comes down to Hulk and Wolverine and it ends in a draw.

marvel72: The characters power set does not have to come from the movies. Actually, the characters comic power set is preferable.

Everybody else: Don't be so quick to dismiss Phoenix to The Hulk and Thor. She is one of the most powerfull characters that has ever been in the Marvel universe.

In corner #2 we have Marvels long time protectors of Earth The Avengers, who themselves have had multiple animated adaptations and 4 feature films leading up to the release of a fifth next summer.

So are we just not counting either of the Hulk films now?

Thor alone would destroy every X-Men member.
AVENGERS ASSEMBLE

Xmen team work is to good. Avengers has heavy weights but Cyclops military strategic mind with Wolverines abilities and fighting skills and Night Crawler. They just work to well together. Such as X-men the second coming, read it. Or as in X-men Messiah. But Banshee should not be on the roaster, it should be Warren aka Archangel.

The only problem the Xmen would have would be the Hulk. They had a real problem taking him down in World War Hulk. Man that was a good issue. When he gamma clapped the physics to ruptrue there ear drums. They couldn't even mind control him. He ripped off arms. Hulk would be the real issue for them .

And yes, if you read the second coming, then you know. If the Phoenix is on the Xmen, they the Avengers all die.

Phoenix. and honestly if your gonna have both Hulk AND Thor in the Avengers then you should have both Phoenix AND Proffesor X/Magneto.

I am going to go with X-Men on this.

Storm and Thor have very similar powers, so they are equally matched.

Wolverine has shown to hold his own againist the Hulk many times.

Phoenix is one of Marvel's most powerful characters and has the powers of a god, and could equally hold her own againist Thor and the Hulk.

Plus combine that with Collossus sheer strength, Nightcrawler's teleporting agility, Banshee sonic scream, and Cyclopes leadership and power, they equelly match all the Avengers combined, plus could easily team up, and the playing field is to their advantage.

with this list... x-men win.

I think nightcrawler could take out the Hulk by sacrificing himself by just teleport into outer space with the hulk.

im sure hawkeye could take out storm or banchee before he was vaporized by cyclopes.

I think phoenix could handle Thor... especially if she can get him on the ground to have wolverine and colossus finish him off.

storm could take out iron man hands down... hes a flying piece of medal in the sky... need I say more?... I do?... lightning bolts frying him.

captain wouldn't be to hard either, that would be another job for colossus and wolverine.

I think the battle would really come down to how the team works together really. I feel the x-men win in this too... They have a longer history together. As the avengers each come from a different background that would enable them to have the full potential as the x-men have.

cyks blasts ironmans armor off, hes done

hulk and wolv just keep going at it, draw

phoenix and thor, would be a good fight. most powerful mutant vs a god, to hard to call

cap vs colossus, even thow cap is the man i dont see him taking him down, if you dont like that mach up cap vs cyk, its a better match up and they would end has cky wins due to him blasting caps shield away and leaves him open

storm takes down widow in a matter of min's, to easy

nightcrawler vs hawkeye, how can hawkeye hit a elf ninja that telliports?

banshee is just a wild card in the back helps who ever needs it.

" since Wolverine is practically immortal"

Well, he doesnt die of age.

But! Get The Hulk mad enough and he will rip his arms and legs of.

Adamantium skeleton aside, he is made of flesh, Thor could fry him, carbonize him, until there is nothing left but his skeleton.

There is only two in X-men that would stand a chance, Phoenix and Xavier. But Thor will finish Phoenix and an uncontrollable Hulk will finish Xavier.

@Nuck82:
Cap vs Colossus: you do know that whenever Colossus' metal form comes into contact with vibranium, he revert back into his normal form, right?

CrashTest: For some reason I couldn't post this in the voting comment section so I'll post it here. Captain America is every bit the leader Cyclops is and then some. As far as The Avengers having too many leaders... when Cap takes control (not counting Hawkeye) they follow without hesitation.

I'm not saying they would win but it wouldn't be due to leadership or teamwork. They practice just like The X-Men.
