Looper was a legit film. I'd give it 8 1/2 out of 10. With so many reboots/remakes it was just refreshing to see a film that tried to be original. Although it borrowed from other films in the genre (terminator) (Fugitive)( Akira)it messhed them together well and the cast was pretty good. I even think it left room for more sequels/ prequels. I'd pay to see a movie that takes place from the rainmakers POV set in the future.
TheJoker - 10/3/2012, 12:45 PM
It was great! But it wasn't Bladerunner. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
CaptainAmerica31 - 10/3/2012, 1:13 PM
Honestly if it's a orginal film in THIS time, than its a masterpiece lol
YoMAMAwearsARMYboots - 10/3/2012, 2:40 PM
It was ok. I'd have to watch it again.
Ryguy88 - 10/3/2012, 3:42 PM
Elguason, do you troll everything not Marvel?
LuckDragon - 10/3/2012, 4:33 PM
I am a huge science fiction fan and I loved this film. SPOILER ALERT: The only part I didn't understand (it could have been explained and I missed it) was why the "Doctor" had to take body parts of the present Looper who failed to kill their future self to draw their future self back to them. If they caught the present Looper couldn't they just kill the one and it would have killed the future one too? Like what happened at the end? Isn't it pointless to dismember the body? It made for awesome cinema though :-)
TheOverlord - 10/3/2012, 11:59 PM
@StillReigns SPOILER ALERT: The Doctor didn't take those body parts to lure him back. He took them to punish him. He's oing to live the next 30 years like that in a box. The message was a trick.
DioFoRio - 10/5/2012, 6:32 PM
the reason they did that was so they would find the address in order to have their lives ended before just being a helpless stump
DocDeath - 10/5/2012, 10:32 PM
Didnt anyone catch - this HE had sex with his mom! this makes the ending wrong, it had a cool ending by closing - he was the boy, but that he also had sex with her- WRONG
hueyfreeman - 10/5/2012, 10:34 PM
after the diner scene the movie just drags. Didn't care for the stuff with the kid, felt unnecessary to give all the ancillary characters so much back story. still enjoyed it, just wanted more Primer and less "lets kill hitler".
Tainted87 - 10/6/2012, 7:10 AM
No man, he didn't. Joe and Cid are two different people entirely.
marvel72 - 10/6/2012, 5:12 PM
film of the year for me,i loved it.
Maximus101 - 10/6/2012, 5:23 PM
Elguason trolls everything other than marvel, it's sad...
Bread - 10/6/2012, 7:10 PM
It was really one of the best sci-fi films I've ever seen
Lasher - 10/6/2012, 7:43 PM
MaximumSpider and The Joker nailed it. Very good to see a new film actually be a bit more imaginative, like a breath of fresh air. There's a line in the movie: "Those movies, they're just copying other movies. Do something new.". Definitely felt a bit of Akira and Terminator in there though. Tons of lens flares like & visuals Bladerunner also. What I don't get is how the future dudes were so stupid as to kill the chick if they're being so careful, what with the whole point of the movie being using time travel so there's no bodies. LOL DocDeath; wtf are you talking about?
crazyray - 10/6/2012, 8:20 PM
Just got back from seeing this w/ gf... loved it. Few strands of Terminator and other sci-fi, but I have to agree... one of the smartest sci fi movies to come around in a long time. And shit, man... I walked out and asked the woman 'Ever see Akira? That's about as close as we getting to see Tetsuo shreds those dudes apart." lol. Hollywood needs more smart and original flicks. (2 best non CBM movies this year?- Looper and The Raid Redemption)
crazyray - 10/6/2012, 8:26 PM
and hot damn Emily Blunt!!! Dat ass.
jondoe297 - 10/6/2012, 9:10 PM
Ok this is the spoiler at the end Young Joe (YJ) he realized that the little kid was the Rain Man (RM) and only became the RM cuz a looper killed his mom now since YJ knows this wouldn't Old Joe (OJ) know this as well so YJ killing him self was pointless just to.stop OJ can anyone help me understand
DioFoRio - 10/6/2012, 9:17 PM
doc death did you pay attention during the movie? I would love for you to watch twelve monkeys . Viewer discretion advised. You may have an aneurysm docsmartypants.
DioFoRio - 10/6/2012, 9:21 PM
old joe doesn't care he just wants his life back
DioFoRio - 10/6/2012, 9:23 PM
so YJ realizing this loop is going to go on unless he sacrifices himself. Decides to do so.
DioFoRio - 10/6/2012, 9:28 PM
then you have the whole crazy thing- that Rain Maker had to be made under different circumstances at some point in order for Joe to experience him in a future where his younger self never encountered the looping conundrum. Which begs the question. Why not just whack the kid, he's most likely gonna be a prick in the future anyway.
GrayMatter - 10/7/2012, 12:10 AM
@DocDeath - Are you trying to troll? Or are you just dumb?

SPOILER ALERT!!! - Anyway, while Looper was an awesome, enjoyable movie, it always bugs me when a movie's time travel mechanics aren't internally consistent. I mean, it seems like Bruce Willis is from an alternate timeline (where he killed his older self), but then when JGL scars himself, or just does stuff in general, it also happens to Bruce Willis or he remembers it. So.... are they from separate timelines? Or are they linked? Cuz the way that they resolve the end of the movie by creating a paradox in order to end a different paradox seems kind of weird.
billnye69 - 10/7/2012, 6:29 AM
Best part was when the kid got shot in the face and got all pissed off.
