A Dragonball Evolution Reboot Already?

Rumors say they want to fix the mistakes they made in the first movie...
After the U.S. producers experienced a major failure with the signing of Dragon Ball: Evolution, we get information from our correspondents in Miami that Dragon Ball will be restarted and not only that, but also confirmed a forthcoming trilogy.

Such confirmation said the spokesman for 20th Century Fox, Abraham Sullivan:

“If we have another movie (Dragon Ball), we are currently discussing the resumption of the trilogy” Sullivan said to our correspondent.

“The only problems we have are the scripts are not finished yet and will be reviewed by our executives, as well as walk in the search for a new director to make such delivery” said the spokesman for the Fox.

So, Fox is (allegedly) discussing a reboot that would potentially kick start a trilogy. Cool. This comes from a blog on HoyCinema, which is about as reliable as James Marsters.

even if they want to reboot, all they have to do is make DBZ cause that is what everyone wanted in the first place I was happy they started with Dragon ball but was disappointed with what we all got in the end.

I think they can still redeem this series with a better director and pulling from the source material more with the next film, keep the cast though because they all did pretty decent it was just the script and the directing that ruined it.

Welcome Back Reco!!

GRIF-

I disagree, I was watching all the Dragonball Kai episodes so far the other day and all I could think of was that this could absolutely translate to film!

You should check out Kai, (Quicksilverscreen Forums), it's excellent so far, almost up there with watching it for the first time!

I wish they would give the original Dragonball the "Kai" treatment as well. I'd love both the original and Z in their unwatered down forms!

We are doing a huge Dragonball promotion at Comic-con this year giving away VIP party passes to the Wrath of Con, Comi-con and Dragonball collectibles and DBE DVD’s. We could use your help to get the word out and we’d love it if one of your fans were the winners. We’ll throw in an additional dollars if the winner comes from your group of followers.

All you have to do is follow http://twitter.com/Dragonball2009 over the next couple of days to win. The details are below, along with the press release.

The Dragonball Evolution Sweepstakes:
The epicenter of the program revolves around a scavenger hunt that Giant Release created for the release of FOX Home Entertainment's Dragonball Evolution DVD. The scavenger hunt held on July 24th at the 2009 Comic-Con San Diego convention center was the ideal location to reach Dragonball's fan base. Followers of http://twitter.com/Dragonball2009 receive a tweet every 15 minutes over a three hour timeframe offering a clue to where seven "Dragonballs" were hidden inside the convention center. When each "Dragonball" is found, the winner receives the ultimate Dragonball Evolution DVD prize package which includes exclusive Comic-Con collector items, a Dragonball Evolution DVD and a VIP pass to the Wrath of Con party event at the Hard Rock Hotel. Dragonball Evolution was given the opportunity to showcase the DVD on plasma screens and main stage area throughout Wrath of Con to leading online entertainment and comics editors, celebrities and lucky fans.

O.k. let me start this post with I am a HUGE Dragonball Z fan.. I did not read the manga nor did I catch the first animated show Dragonball.. when it hit the US in the 90's Dragonball Z is what you got.. that being said.. I watched Dragonball Evolution last night and all I can say is what a steam pile of CRAP!! That's 1.5 hours of my life I can never have back.. I was on the fence about the movie hoping for the best knowing I'd be disapointed royally..

Problems:
Justin Chatwin: I mean it's a Japanese story.. GOKU is supposed to be ASIAN.. I've read comments about the fact that he's an alien and not Japanese.. that's crap.. he's supposed to go unnoticed which means he blended with the people in the area who are you guessed it JAPANESE.. if it's so not a big deal why didn't they just go after an asian guy who actually knew martial arts? why? because it is a big deal this is as bad as trying to have Will Smith play Captain America.. not a smart move..

Yamcha: He had no role in this movie he couldn't even fight.. this makes no sense.. the scenes between he and Bulma were just pitiful.. no chemistry.. nothing..

Roshi: he looked nothing like him but I give Chow a pass sense he's the only guy with any acting chops in this festering turd of a film..

Piccolo: come on.. he wasn't even wearing the Namekian wardrobe the voice and look were decent but no antenna's.. the fight with Goku was just ridiculous.. it ended before it even began.. the special effects sucked! Goku was supposed to be naturally gifted he learned techniques incredible fast.. well CHi Chi was teaching this dude.. Roshi, Gohan (his grandfather) it was just terrible.

They need to just reboot this thing and start with something that makes sense like "the Arrival" when Vegita arrives.. all and all I think this movie turned out to be exactly what we all thought it would be whale fesis.. unless they are ready to put the proper money, time and talent behind this and be ready for a 3 picture franchise this won't work..
