Hello everyone, Hybrid here with a review of Action Comics Anual #1. The plot essentially another attempt to counter Superman incase he were to go rouge, this time in the form of Kryptonite Man aka K-Man (not K. Russell Abernathy). This K-Man has a personal vendetta against Superman which drives him to undergo a dangerous procedure that will make him "more powerful than Superman." If you haven't read the previous Action Comics, you may want to read Action Comics #1-8, as they build this issue off that established story. I found the return of a consequential plot instead of a random story that makes no sense positive. I found the villain to be a negative in this issue. The writers seem to want you to hate him instead of possibly sympathizing with him, like honestly, "they" give very dangerous powers to an obviously crazy guy? more like an excuse for a Superman-level villain. To round up my thoughts....

Art: 3/5 (Nothing special, just average art with obvious attention to Superman)
Plot: 3/5 (Nothing makes you like the villain or understand why he'd be given powers, seems random and another excuse for a O.P. foe)
Writing: 3/5 (Dialogue was decent, especially enjoyed Henry Iron's monolouge regarding heroes)
Characters: 3/5 (Superman's strength level is inconsistent with other Superman titles, K-Man is almost like Alpha in the ways you hate him)
Enjoyment: 5/10 (expected more from the original flagship title of The New 52, but instead we got a "decent" comic that doesn't add anything new but instead gives a simple, easily disposable story that isn't worth $4.99.
Overall: 17/30 = 56%
