I have a friend who's a die-hard Holmes fan and isn't a big dan of the films. Mainly because in the books (and BBC's amazing 'Sherlock' series) Holmes is more socially awkward with drug habits. I can see why he doesn't like these films considering they focus more on the action than the mystery.

Moriart?

The film takes place in 1892 but that gun Sherlock is holding wasn't designed until 3 years later and wasn't even produced until 1896. Bullshit.

Great posters! @WaylonJones it should read 'Moriarty' not 'Moriart' in the description.

@tjbpinkfloyd umm... in BBC's Sherlock, doesnt he just have nicotine patches? No actual drugs... In the film they have hints at drug use (when he's in the dark room at the beginning shooting VR into the wall, for example) and there was a great balance between mystery and action IMO. But from what I've seen, the BBC TV show is great too.

@sodacake where did you hear it's set in 1892? Who says the film is set one year after the first one?

@ACira, an article on IGN confirmed some facts about the film, one of them being that the film takes place several months after the events of the first film. So I guess I was wrong in saying it takes place a year after the first film even though the article also confirms my point.

Very nice, hope this one doesn't disappoint. Looks like we'll be treated to bombings in London and Paris in addition to Germany.

Sounds like "you know who" wants to start World War I a little early..

Moriarty as a Victorian Bin Laden perhaps?

Awesome compositions, and can't wait for this movie overall. Simply hoping for more traditional Holmes action (and a description said that there will be a scene where he and Moriarty are taunting one another, so I could hope a lot) and of course deduction in this one . :)
