Green Lantern servilely underwhelmed at the box-office last year, but when it was released on blu-ray it was one of the first films to offer UltraViolet. The service was designed so that you could up load a movie to your CLOUD and be able to watch it any where. The Hollywood Reporter is announcing that people who are attending this years San Diego Comic Con will get a free embed code for Green Lantern for their UltraViolet network compliments of Flixster. Green Lantern is not the only film that attendees can get for free the others on the list include Mortal Kombat, Mars Attacks!, and Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.

To redeem your code you need to make your way over to the DC booth where they will have a unique hashtag for you to tweet. There will also be Hashtags available at The Batcave which is located near the Extra at Comic-Con stage at Bayfront Park. New tags will be available everyday of the convention.

CeltiC527 - 7/12/2012, 1:33 PM
@Intruder I know you are being sarcastic but seriously it wasn't that bad. People here are acting like it was the worst movie ever made or something. SMH
Greengo - 7/12/2012, 1:33 PM
oh and that daddy issues/dying in plane crash scene was total shite.

everything else was GREAT!!! : )
NOLANITE - 7/12/2012, 1:39 PM
@celtic

I actually found this movie to be decent. It still can be saved. WB and DC should keep Ryan and bring in sinestro again.
Greengo - 7/12/2012, 1:39 PM
oh and the scene with the helicopter turned hot wheel car also the lack of imaginative constructs sucked my balls.

everything else was BADASS!!!
IronHood - 7/12/2012, 1:53 PM
The marvel trolls are out in force. Seriously, we get it, you didn't like the movie now STFU!
FriendlyNeighborhoodSpidey - 7/12/2012, 2:05 PM
Why are they doing this when they know that very few people actually liked the movie?
I thought it was barely meh.
FriendlyNeighborhoodSpidey - 7/12/2012, 2:06 PM
I give it 5.5 out of 10.
CaptainObvious - 7/12/2012, 2:14 PM
Green Lantern is just an all around soulless film. The story is weak and unengaging. None of the characters are likable. The action is brief and anti-climatic, which is made worse by visual effects that belong in the 90's. There's absolutely no passion or interest in the directing. The whole movie just lack ambition.

On top of all that, you've got some of the worst sequel baiting in the after-credits scene. There's no build-up to it and just comes out of nowhere. Most importantly, it ruins the great dynamic between Hal and Sinestro.

It's not the worst cbm ever made, but it ranks up there with the worst.
ralfinader - 7/12/2012, 2:43 PM
I wish I could go, just for the opportunity to say: "No thanks, but could I get a copy of Gigli instead?"
laughterman26 - 7/12/2012, 2:57 PM
worst movie ever, emerald knights over this anyday. FILLION FTW!!!!!
silverdog - 7/12/2012, 3:27 PM
this "gift" should come in a box with a copy of catwoman, batman and robin, superman returns and jonah hex.... and a gun loaded with a bullet.
Trapdinsteel - 7/12/2012, 3:30 PM
The sad part of it all is that with some minor changes, a big difference in quality could have been achieved. I probably would have gone a different route in general but here is my take on "tweaking" the current version...something they should consider for a special directors cut!

-Get rid of the race car track and add something better. Simply Hal grabbing the helicopter with a giant hand or anything else while Hector continues to destroy things and push Hal as almost a test to see what he can handle. The scene wouldnt change much because as Hector threatened other innocent people with falling objects etc, Hal would have to react for the first time with multiple projections testing him for the first time and still ending with him saving Carol at the end of the scene.

-Keep Krona separate from "Parallax" and the story the same that he was a former Guardian who chose to prove the rest of the Guardians wrong with "fear" as his weapon of choice. Change his look from the fart cloud to a Guardian on steroids (not in bulging muscles but just a bigger version of the guardians) so he is someone the GL's could go toe to toe with.

-Stop Hal from being a wishy washy cry baby who keeps quitting the corp. Instead, make him more like a hot shot pilot (gee what a concept) who is trying to prove himself worthy among the GL's. Just like the plane scene illustrates, if anything, Hal is a competitor and his actions of always pushing the limit can rub people the wrong way...like Sinestro.

-Instead of quitting his training, perhaps Sinestro challenges Hal to join him and some others to take the offensive against Krona on some random planet. Hal starts the journey with them but gets alerted by his ring that Carol is in danger from Hector (move that hangar scene up to this section to get big head off the screen quicker) so he leaves the group to deal with that, which pisses off Sinestro that he is not sticking to the plan once given the opportunity.

-Hal deals with Hector and traps him in some type of holding facility on OA (instead of him getting killed). Simultaneously we see Krona getting stronger among the fearful inhabitants of random planet which becomes too much for the GL's who were not ready for this powerful threat.

-Meanwhile Sinestro gets his ass handed to him by Krona as he shifts from normal yellow power guardian to giant planet eater. (This is a better reason why Sinestro wants a yellow ring made, because he is furious to be beaten and that the yellow color could potentially be stronger than what he possesses)

-Krona can still turn into the fart cloud right before he is about to take over a planet but then reverts back to normal mode when he moves on. It would be a great force to be reckoned with once he turns into the cloud but also drains a lot of energy. That could be why Krona must continue this trend of devouring planets to keep the GL's in fear of his wrath. This means him having to spend time on different planets causing chaos first to suck up the fear levels of its people and once at a high enough point can take the planet.

-From the group of GLs that go to take on Krona, Hal gets back there just in time to help Kilowog, Toma Re and Sinestro escape as the planet is about to be decimated to regroup and fight another day.

-Same scene with Sinestro in front of the guardians pleading to make a yellow ring and Hal saying not to that they can all take him down if they join together. This turns into Hal again proving that he can overcome fear better than others because everyone else fears that they do not stand a chance against Krona until they finish making a yellow ring at this point.

-Hal says he will defend his sector to try to save as many people as possible and hold off Krona himself if they feel they need to wait for the yellow power to be completed. Hal and Krona (normal mode Krona) battle it out (better than the short earth battle scene in the current version) and it looks like Hal almost has the upper hand when Krona gains enough fear from humans to turn into the fart cloud to regain the lead in the fight and the rest of the movie plays out as it did with Hal luring him off the planet and into the sun.

I agree that the train started to come off the rails in the second half but at the end of the day it wasn't as bad as some make it out to be, more annoying that it could have been easily corrected than anything else...but then again hind sight is 20/20. The fart cloud may have sounded awesome written on paper...nah, probably not.

Green Lantern: First Flight was a better movie than this piece of shit. They should have made that movie live action instead of giving us this.

Wasn't that bad, some people just hate Reynolds and that´s why hate the movie, indeed it has his flaws but wasn't shit, was average, a strong 6.5, we need a redeeming sequel WITH Reynolds as GL Hal Jordan.
DukeAcureds - 7/12/2012, 4:24 PM
I can't believe this. They can't even give this away. This is probably a bigger cbm catastrophe than Batman & Robin. At least Batman & Robin inadvertantly kickstarted the cbm golden age, but this was a real missed opportunity. A real [frick] up.
TexasAvenger - 7/12/2012, 5:02 PM
Oh no, Ship...we didn't hate it because Ryan Reynolds was in it. We hated it because it's a giant pile of shit.
