The Dark Knight Rises has been, no surprise, a box office freight train. It just recently passed the 1 billion dollar mark world wide, and it is sure to rack in even more money with its blu-ray/DVD release. While not a lot is known about the special features on the release rumor has it that WB is looking to put something amazing on the discs. According to Nuke The Fridge, Warner Brother is including a directors cut of the film in the blu-ray. The extended footage is said to contain the Bane origin that was mention by costume designer Lindy Hemming. As well as the Bane footage there is rumored to be some additional scenes with Liam Neeson as Ra’s Al Ghu.

As of right now this is just a rumor so make sure you take the information with a grain of salt. With the final cut of the movie coming in at nearly 3 hours long it would interesting to see how long the directors cut would make it. You can catch The Dark Knight Rises in theaters NOW!!!

IF this is true, then I will finally fork over the cash for a PS3.

i hope its true!!!
MY ONLY ONLY issue with the film...i wish they would of done that rumor prologue that was on here back in november...picks up where TDK left off exactly with bat running and being chased by the cops...he gets away..takes a secret road/tunnel and BAM! to trucks block him..he crashes..its bane and his men...and yea ..i wish nolan would of done that...but its all good..

but i hope this is true!

I agree with cipher, it would be cool to get a director's cut though.
Durf - 9/5/2012, 1:55 PM
Holy shit that is ridiculous! The movie is already almost 3 hrs long, does it really need to be any longer?
Cswag12 - 9/5/2012, 1:55 PM
I would love a directors cut but we have to wait and see

Finally it will be revealed Bane was raised on Skull Island by the Kings of Kong! (also explains his Beauty and the beast weakness for Talia!)
Kings Of Kong, All the Kings on Skull Island.

Hey if they can lengthen Watchmen I don't see why not
Fullbring - 9/5/2012, 1:59 PM
I think it'd be cool if the blu ray included a cut of the movie with Bane's original voice. But I know that's not gonna happen.

wonder how long until someone stars the flame war.
Hopefully this time we have more mature commenters instead of kiddies.

If this is true and it does fix the some of the movies plot holes and unfinished stuff like Banes origin, then this could be the next Daredevil directors cut AKA a even better movie.
CaptainObvious - 9/5/2012, 2:19 PM
Not likely. Nolan is known for having his final cuts being the definitive cuts of his movies.
jessepostal - 9/5/2012, 2:29 PM
Every movie should have a directors cut, at least on the blu ray, i mean that is kind of the point of choosing that director isn't it? Why cant we see what he envisioned or wanted?
marvel72 - 9/5/2012, 2:38 PM
i can't see it happening.
Supes17 - 9/5/2012, 3:25 PM
I wish :/
Jollem - 9/5/2012, 4:41 PM

ProjectionistPHiLL - 9/5/2012, 4:47 PM
Nolan doesn't even like putting in alt takes little alone deleted scenes... I HIGHLY doubt this.
DCjohnny - 9/5/2012, 5:21 PM
it not gonna happen..... dude it chris nolan...he doesnt do stuffs like that... anyway ... when is the dvd bluray releasing....
Batcowliveson - 9/5/2012, 7:10 PM
I NEED THIS
Canon108 - 9/5/2012, 7:33 PM
I doubt it...Neason himself said he was on set for 2hrs and that was it. He filmed one scene and that was the one in the film. I'm sure there were probably 2 or 3 minor changes to scenes and that would be it for a director's cut, so instead of a runtime of 2hrs 45min it would be 2hrs 47min
TheBigBoss917 - 9/5/2012, 8:52 PM
My fantasy: Dont care for a Bane Originbut would love a joker cameo.
UrbanKnight - 9/5/2012, 10:34 PM

I WISH! As others have said, one can only hope.
HBarnill - 9/6/2012, 4:18 AM
I'm glad Nolan isn't doing this. I hate director's cuts. What on screen is what the film is. You can't just rerelease a version by version and say that this is the perfect version. Look at the original Star Wars or Blade Runner.
Bobevanz - 9/6/2012, 6:27 AM
Who cares? it sucked :)
AmericanPsychoWolf - 9/6/2012, 1:40 PM
Bring it on!
iuhgluiblbjjkhkjhkljh - 9/6/2012, 3:35 PM
@Bobevanz
Why exactly did it suck? One mention of the Avengers or the Joker, and you're a twat.
