With the movie being successful, it should come as no surprise that the comic book would be as well. Vertigo has just announced that Django Unchained's first issue will be getting a second printing.

Vertigo has sent out a press release to let fans know the first issue of their comic tie in to the movie Django Unchained has sold out, and will be heading for a second printing. The first issue was released last month, a week before the film hit theaters, and kicked off the six part mini series. The second printing will receive the Jim Lee cover (seen to the left) that was a variant for the first printing in black and white.

Press Release:

In December, moviegoers across the planet were introduced to legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino’s latest offering: DJANGO UNCHAINED. And also making its debut last month, the first issue of Vertigo Comics’ 6-part miniseries adaptation of Tarantino’s full screenplay hit shelves.

Today, we’re pleased to announce that DJANGO UNCHAINED #1 has sold out! But if you haven’t had a chance to read this inaugural issue yet, don’t worry! A second printing will land in stores on February 6, featuring a cover that is a black and white version of Jim Lee’s variant edition.

The series based on Quentin Tarantino's screen play for the movie. R.M. Guera is handling the art on the books, with various other artists, including Lee, doing the covers. The second issue hits shelves tomorrow.

Do not speak ill of his greatness Mr.Tarantino... Anti Tarantino rally? It's like all the bad people gathering for target practice.

The movie is amazing, one of the best films released last year, and if you think otherwise your just extremely close-minded. Anyway, I don't see the point of buying a comic book that tells the exact same story I've already seen on a giant theater screen with audio and motion

Did not like this movie. Actually nodded off for a minute and got shook awake. It had a couple of good moments but really meh for me. It's starting to be more and more like Tarantino can be seen pulling the strings in these movies and slapping himself on the back at how clever he is.
