VIDEO GAMES: Doomsday Gameplay Trailer for INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US Revealed

NetherRealm Studios has recently released a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Injustice: Gods Among Us, which offers us our first look at Doomsday, who will be joining the wide roster of the much-anticipated fighting video game based on the DC Comics characters. Hit the jump to check it out.

Seemingly a fan-favorite, the presence of Doomsday in NetherRealm Studios' upcoming fighting video game outing based on DC Comics' fictional universe, Injustice: Gods Among Us, was first announced via @Gamer magazine's article. Now, the developers have officially confirmed the supervillain as a playable character in the video game, through this gameplay video (courtesy of GameStop) which provides us with our first look at the murderer of Superman itself, pitted in an intense battle against Shazam. Injustice: Gods Among Us is an upcoming fighting game based upon the fictional universe of DC Comics. Set following the destruction of Metropolis and the deaths of his wife Lois Lane, their unborn child, and his best friend Jimmy Olsen, all at the hands of the Joker, the video game sees Superman's establishing of a new world order, causing heroes to stand in opposition to each other. A battle ensues between the forces of Superman's regime and those allied with Batman's rebellion. Developed by NetherRealm Studios, the game is scheduled to be released on Playstation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360 on April 16, 2013.

Damn, you beat me to it. Ah well, Doomsday still looks badass. Can't wait to start annihilating bunch of characters as him. First two to go: Aquaman and Superman.

the gameplay and graphics on this are nice. Using objects like cars in the game will be cool too.

I am surprised to see some people at other websites dismissing this as old news. The super-move was pretty awesome and never done before as far as I know.

You guys do know that the Battle Arena tournament is based on fan votes, right?

If you guys think there is any way in hell Doomsday would get voted on over Batman, then you are crazy.

@Godzillafart: You know, I hate it when people say that about Doomsday because that's stupid and wrong.

I can very much say the same about Hulk being a ripoff of Solomon Grundy or any other muscle bound characters from the golden age such as some of Captain Marvel villainas. Plus DD has more in common with Grundy then Hulk

@Mechagnio: The DC team including Dan Jurgens so much as admitted that The Hulk was their jumping off point in creating Doomsday. Not that it matters. Doomsday has evolved into his own thing. Hulk wasn't a rip off of Solomon Grundy, but he was a direct rip off of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, with a little Frankenstein thrown in. He too has evolved into his own thing.

Abomination in TIH, however, was a cheap Doomsday rip off and continues to be a cheap Doomsday rip off.

Except for his special move Doomsday's move set really isn't that great looking. Looked like mostly flailing around. Not what he is capable of in the Death of Superman comic.

Yeah I think Doomsday is a shallow villain but it wouldn't surprise me if they use him on film one day. As a side-villain of course.

Looks great. IF they gonna do Doomsday from Jumpstreet, they should have did someone else instead of Solomon Grundy.

Doomsday moveset is not lacking. He has alot of moves for a character that just use his hands.

Doomsday special is truly a beat down on a global scale. He does lack a decent move set but what would you expect from him. He's all killer and no filler. Can't wait to pick up the game.
