POLL: What Are Your Thoughts On STARDUST's Charlie Cox Playing DAREDEVIL?

Ben Affleck played The Man Without Fear in 2003's dreadful Daredevil movie, while Patrick Wilson would have likely starred in Joe Carnahan's take had it been given the green light at Fox. Now, Boardwalk Empire and Stardust actor Charlie Cox has been planned in Netflix's TV series. Thought?

Marvel has a habit of surprising us with their casting decisions, and they almost always work out for the best despite how unexpected they might be when first announced. If you've seen Boardwalk Empire and Stardust, you'll know that this will likely be the case when it comes to Charlie Cox too! The British actor will play Daredevil in Marvel and Netflix's planned 13 episode series which is set to also be joined on the online streaming service by Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. That will culminate in a Defenders event series, though there are currently very few details on the plot or tone of any of these shows. Regardless, this is a major casting announcement and we want to know how you guys feel about Marvel choosing Cox to play the fan favourite character!

Shaman - 5/28/2014, 3:19 PM
I'm not convinced since i thought he was pretty forgetable in Stardust but i'm open to see what he's got. Marvel's never let me down before.
MFDOOM - 5/28/2014, 3:20 PM
Who?
Pasto - 5/28/2014, 3:20 PM
AND HE NAME IS COX! LEL LEL!
MrMartinMarvel - 5/28/2014, 3:22 PM
I said "He seems like a good choice". Marvel has never made a bad casting choice yet, don't see why they would start now.
CrimsonFlash - 5/28/2014, 3:23 PM
Huge DD fan and I'm playing the let it see game on this. I know the guy can act from Boardwalk but he doesn't have the look. So good pick in terms of acting And I trust marvel. People hated Chris evans originally too, now he's the best cast marvel character in my opinion.
GreenLantern519 - 5/28/2014, 3:25 PM
No idea who this guy is, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Marvel has been pretty good with casting so far, so I trust their judgement.
DeusExSponge - 5/28/2014, 3:26 PM
I'm waiting to see how he portrays Dare Devil before I make a judgement.
MrCBM56 - 5/28/2014, 3:26 PM
"I'm not sure...let's wait and see!"
blackandyellow - 5/28/2014, 3:26 PM
I wanted Efron. Efron for Dr. Strange.
RorMachine - 5/28/2014, 3:26 PM
Second option. I thought he was very good in Stardust and great in Boardwalk, an dyes, Marvel don't tend to make bad casting decisions.
blackandyellow - 5/28/2014, 3:27 PM
People hated Evan Peters for Quicksilver and he [frick]ing killed it in DOFP.
bigdannymac - 5/28/2014, 3:31 PM
Do we need a poll for everything?
MrCBM56 - 5/28/2014, 3:31 PM
@Pasto .....

TheSuperguy - 5/28/2014, 3:32 PM
I wonder if they will have any references or homages to the original yellow suit.
Shaman - 5/28/2014, 3:34 PM
I need to see that Boardwalk...
Shaman - 5/28/2014, 3:36 PM
At least they didn't cast him as Danny Rand. We need somebody like i dunno... Luke Goss or someshit.
thewolfx - 5/28/2014, 3:37 PM
Meh idk the guy to decide

I hope he goes redhead n he doesnt [frick]up is all -_-
MrCBM56 - 5/28/2014, 3:41 PM
I just hope he becomes blind in time before filming starts.
GinjaNinja - 5/28/2014, 3:41 PM
I'm just cracking up at the ben affleck burn.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 5/28/2014, 3:41 PM
Mix between "not sure" and "who?"
sKeemAn - 5/28/2014, 3:44 PM
He was great in Boardwalk. I think he will do well as DD. As Matt Murdock, now thats a different story. I think his accent is a little deep. it will need some work. He's a good actor though so I believe he can pull it off
DrDoom - 5/28/2014, 3:45 PM
Like I said before, if Marvel believes in him, then so do I.

Regardless of whether you like all of Marvel Studios' movies or not, their casting crew is the best in the business.
GinjaNinja - 5/28/2014, 3:45 PM
I'm at the "I'm not sure, lets wait and see" and "I trust marvel" area. Havn't seen the guy in anything but i'm sure with the right script he could be great
Poolio - 5/28/2014, 3:46 PM
I'll wait and see
Highflyer - 5/28/2014, 3:46 PM
I hope the suit looks bad ass.
Junito - 5/28/2014, 3:47 PM
Hey, anything or anyone can be better than Ben.
AlexanderLykins - 5/28/2014, 3:48 PM
@Pasto
Quit acting like Jollem! You're better than that!
Shaman - 5/28/2014, 3:49 PM
DrDoom- Well said.
NovaCorpsFan - 5/28/2014, 3:49 PM
Pasto

You used to be cool, man.
jaysin420 - 5/28/2014, 3:50 PM
No idea how to post videos and I'm too stoned to learn right now, but here's a cool scene with him from BE-

Ranger14 - 5/28/2014, 3:51 PM
I'm really not sure about this one, but understand he is a very good actor. His look doesn't scream Matt Murdock to me. Whether he can effectively handle the physical aspect of the role is my only concern. Can he get in peak shape and can he handle the fight choreography well? That's what remains to be seen. I guess I am on the fence about this one right now.
JerBear - 5/28/2014, 3:53 PM
@blackandyellow
Evan Peters was good as fast spaz with grey hair and goggles. The character he played was NOT Quicksilver.
soforizo - 5/28/2014, 3:56 PM
"I'm not sure... wait and see!"

Choice has been made, so no point in going into talking about the merits of other actors. We'll have to wait and see, and hopefully open to it.
Shamo - 5/28/2014, 3:59 PM
I'll have to watch Stardust. no comment as of now.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 5/28/2014, 4:03 PM
"Seems like a good choice and I trust Marvel".

That was my choice and Cox was great in Boardwalk Empire as Knucky Thompson's right hand man.

Marvel: where trendsetting happens and casting is impeccable. ;)
Alienman - 5/28/2014, 4:05 PM
Nope.
AsgardianHobo - 5/28/2014, 4:10 PM
sounds decent. we shall all wait and see i guess!
TheRealRemyLebeau - 5/28/2014, 4:10 PM
Welcome Charlie Cox to the Marvel family!!

Sxcory - 5/28/2014, 4:10 PM
Agree with Dr. Doom. We may not love the casting at first but we all get proven wrong for the most part.
