SECOND!
JillyMcBeam - 6/23/2014, 4:56 PM
Not a fan of the art. But the New 52 as whole had been pretty solid.
GodzillaKart - 6/23/2014, 4:59 PM
I know a lot of people don't like Romita Jr.'s art, but I love it. This looks amazing.
JillyMcBeam - 6/23/2014, 4:59 PM
On a different note, Josh, why are you so sexy? Every time I read one of your articles my pants happen to magically fall off, and that's saying something considering some of the thing Nail puts out. I think this is a sign that we need to have dinner.
InfiniteMonkey - 6/23/2014, 5:01 PM
That art is atrocious but the writing must be top notched with John's at the helm.
ElGordo - 6/23/2014, 5:02 PM
Yeah, JRJR's art still sucks! I can't believe people like his style.
ManCalledSting - 6/23/2014, 5:05 PM
Not huge fan of Romita's art, but I agree, most of the New 52 is great. I'm excited to see what happens with this new crisis. I always figured the pre 52 universe was still around, but I'm glad they confirmed it is. Hopefully that will become an Earth 2 type universe.
sinsear912 - 6/23/2014, 5:11 PM
How can you not like jrjr. He is a [frick]ing legend
TheOverlord - 6/23/2014, 5:12 PM
Yawn.
marvel72 - 6/23/2014, 5:16 PM
john romita jr best work was on the uncanny x-men & daredevil back in the 80s, i think last thing i liked that he did was world war hulk.
Darth258 - 6/23/2014, 5:18 PM
I always liked Romita Jr's art.
mrChase - 6/23/2014, 5:19 PM
I like JRjr, but I don't think he should do Superman. I'll Probably pick it up though.
Darth258 - 6/23/2014, 5:23 PM
@marvel72: I loved his work on Spider-Man too.
JayJayCAW - 6/23/2014, 5:24 PM
new baddie? Interesting, hopefully its not as bad as some of the other "new" bad guys they've thrown at Supes
Jollem - 6/23/2014, 5:26 PM
awesome work
0megaDaGod - 6/23/2014, 5:32 PM
That page of him hearing the person and darting out the house while looking thru the photo album needs to be in BvS

Long live JRJR
marvel72 - 6/23/2014, 5:40 PM
@ Darth258

alright,i'll give you that,he had a good run on the amazing spider-man as well.
Jollem - 6/23/2014, 5:46 PM
@marvel72 - he's done a lot of good stuff. aren't you the same person that said jim lee's only good work was at marvel? ;)
Jollem - 6/23/2014, 5:55 PM
geoff johns
john romita jr.
klaus janson

you see those names on a cover, and you know you're gonna have a good time
JoshuaDBr - 6/23/2014, 6:15 PM
I'm having a tough time deciding whether or not I like the art. But I assume it will be good since it's Geoff Johns. Although I doubt it will be as good as Morrison's 'New 52' run on Action Comics.
JoshuaDBr - 6/23/2014, 6:21 PM
I don't really like how he makes his elbows and kneecaps look so squared. It doesn't look too bad. But Iv'e seen much better art for Superman in the New 52.
DTor91 - 6/23/2014, 6:36 PM
That first page….now that's Superman.
BatmanTheGawd - 6/23/2014, 6:43 PM
Geoff Johns made Hal Jordan my favorite DC character so he can probably make Superman a favorite of mine too. Definitely gonna give this a chance
BatmanTheGawd - 6/23/2014, 6:44 PM
Batman is still second though
deanwilkins - 6/23/2014, 6:46 PM
Why does his art continue to get worse and worse? He's a great guy. I got to meet him here in Toronto. I wish he would reclaim the passion he seemed to have with his earlier artwork - i.e. Daredevil, Thor, etc.
RolandD - 6/23/2014, 7:03 PM
My complaint about JRJr's artwork is his faces. That does not look like Superman in most of the face shots. Some talked about his work on X-men, which was great. I also liked his 70's art with Bob Layton's inks on Iron Man.
patrat18 - 6/23/2014, 7:04 PM
I love the art.
MikeHawk - 6/23/2014, 7:12 PM
why the flaming Frick does he have a penis nose in the first cover?
dio - 6/23/2014, 7:14 PM
I'd like to see a different colorist on his stuff.
Lizardking310 - 6/23/2014, 7:21 PM
I wanna read this but damn I hate the art !
GreenArrow1941 - 6/23/2014, 7:32 PM
Geoff Johns best work was in pre-New 52 Action Comics, maybe he finally realized that people want the pre-52 Supes back.

"Although I doubt it will be as good as Morrison's 'New 52' run on Action Comics."
Yeah, I doubt Johns can even come close to Morrison's underrated run. I really loved Morrison's New 52 Superman especially because it was inspired by the Golden age Superman, but I was not a huge fan of Rags art.
GreenArrow1941 - 6/23/2014, 7:34 PM
I don't love the art but it seems really good in the action scenes.
CavEl - 6/23/2014, 8:00 PM
@GreenArrow1941 doesn't know what he's talking about. N52 Superman > Post-Crisis Superman.

Anyone who has read Pak's Superman knows it.
HumaniodTyphoon - 6/23/2014, 8:42 PM
He ruined world war hulk for me, he ruined spiderman for me, and he will ruin an already ruined superman franchise.
Ramiel - 6/23/2014, 9:31 PM
Just when it couldn't get any worse for Superman.
uvsk420 - 6/23/2014, 9:57 PM
this would be great news for superman if ol jr would go back to his old style art but hey i remember shortly after x-men came out in 2000, the comic went with movie costumes and the art was just horrible
thewolfx - 6/23/2014, 10:10 PM
Old jrjr >>>> current jrjr

This art is an aquired taste aka it sux
manofsteel1942 - 6/24/2014, 4:06 AM
That first pic. Superman is slobberin'. Does he have rabies....???
