BREAKING BAD And ARROW Directors Tapped For Season Five Of GAME OF THRONES

HBO have revealed the five directors who will be working on season five of Game of Thrones, and while there are some notable omissions, we will see those who have worked on everything from Breaking Bad to Boardwalk Empire and The Flash helming two each.

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we now know who will be directing each episode of the fifth season of Game of Thrones. They will each helm two episodes in a row, and the return of the series next year will kick off with Michael Slovis (Breaking Bad). He will then be followed by Mark Mylod (Shameless), Jeremy Podeswa (Boardwalk Empire), Miguel Sapochnik (Fringe) and David Nutter (Arrow).  With the exception of the latter - who also helmed The Flash's pilot episode and the now infamous "Red Wedding" episode of Game of Thrones - each of the directors here are new additions to the show. Conspicuous by their absence are Alex Graves, Neil Marshall, and showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss, who previously directed an episode each. What do you think?

Wonder why they didnt get the directors from AoS?? Lol

You just had to go there, didn't you? Couldn't resist? We get it, you don't like AoS. Good job turning a Game of Thrones article into an AoS bash, you troll.

David Nutter directed one... count them... ONE episode of Arrow... the pilot... and ONE episode of the Flash, also the pilot. He also happened to direct the Smallville pilot and the Supernatural pilot. His career as a television director spans all the way back to the late 1980's, when you were probably wearing diapers and dancing to episodes of Muppet Babies. His involvement in Arrow and Flash have more to do with his relationship with the CW than they do with some Marvel vs. DC nonsense.

The guy is a go-to director for all sorts of television shows and with 45 television directing credits to his name, the guy is an extremely talented director, who's earned his place among other skilled tv directors. He directed one of my favorite episodes of the X-Files - Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose, among a dozen other pilot episodes for comic book, fantasy and sci-fi shows of the past 30 years.

But the fact that he's already directed 5 episodes of Game of Thrones shows that his continued involvement in that show has absolutely nothing to do with his directing of the Arrow and Flash pilots. And it certainly has nothing to do with AoS.

Now, go away and troll somewhere else.

Dude, Michael Slovis? That's sick, his cinematography on Breaking Bad was phenomena.

He was making a joke and you took the bait lol.

Nevermind such a abominable creature, goatman.

@Danjoi

Read it in combination with ADWD. The pacing is much better and it actually feels like a complete storyline. Go to the Boiled Leather merge and either use that to alternate between chapters or downloads A Ball of Beasts.

"@goatman

Did you laugh? Did you think it was hiliarios? Are you familiar with his constant attacks on AoS in an effort to make Arrow out to be some perfect storm of live action comic book story telling? He takes every opportunity to bash AoS every chance he gets, in every article that has remotely any mention of either show. Before you absolve him under the guise of some comedic gesture, try following what he has said over the course of the last year.

"Ps goatman fyi David nutter has directed multiple episodes of arrow. But go on continuing to be defensive, it just shows your insecurities towards AoS if you cannot handle a joke"

PS, No. And you're wrong again. And you call yourself an Arrow fan. I've seen every episode, some more than once. But even a simple IMDB search would show that you're mistaken.

David Nutter was Executive Producer for 32 episodes of Arrow but was only Director on ONE episode and that was the pilot.

You're obviously trying to imply that because David Nutter is an accomplished tv director and because AoS didn't hire him to direct an episode, AoS must therefore be a shitty show. It's a nice attempt, but it's got no basis in fact. It's actually a stupid thing to say and is offensive to people like David Straiton, Milan Cheylov, Roxann Dawson, Jesse Bocho, Vincint Misiano, Bobby Roth, and a dozen other award winning television directors and producers who actually DID work on Agents of SHIELD. Your implication is that they are talentless hacks because they haven't been blessed with the opportunity to direct and episode of Arrow or be involved with Game of Thrones.

And, no, I don't have any insecurities about AoS. Many of us like both shows, and most of us are not blind sheep that can't see faults in either of them. Neither show is perfect. And if you don't like one of them, fine. That's your right and your preference. But stop being a troll. Stop making everything about DC vs. Marvel.

When you say things that are simply not true, you deserve to be called out. Keep trying to tell me I'm wrong if you want, but try to stick to facts.
