Dancing Groot Appears In "#1 Again" TV Spot For GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

While it doesn't contain much in the way of new footage (the movie has been out for over a month now after all), the latest TV spot for James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy points out that the critically acclaimed Marvel Studios is once again back at #1 at the North American box office!

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro, Guardians of the Galaxy is out now! What did you guys think of the movie?

yoss, have you seen the Navy summer whites uniform from Under Armour? They're actually badass. Each uniform has the rank of the player on the shoulders and the pants, too.

yossarian - 8/28/2014, 1:07 PM
Those are cool. The Navy uniforms are sharp. I hated our dress uniforms.
Darktower - 8/28/2014, 1:11 PM
The movie was enjoyable and all, but this is getting too silly..

As it rightfully should be.

1. High critical praise and audience reception

2. Soundtrack being the no.1 album on the billboards.

3. Already at the $500m mark and not even being released in some major markets yet.

Pretty damn good for a team of obscure, formerly c-list Marvel characters.
AlexanderLykins - 8/28/2014, 3:31 PM
Marvel Studios dominant as usual.
ManCalledSting - 8/28/2014, 4:19 PM

MakluIV - 8/28/2014, 11:54 PM
I don't even think Marvel themselves, ever imagined Guardians would be #1 in it's 4th week of release. That is crazy!

- folks come to a comicbook movie site, dedicated on bringing news and aggregating information/media of the genre.

- folks see tv spots, merchandising, trailers, other mkt actions

- folks complain of "overexposure"

**SERIOUS FACEPALMING**
Vonkrieg - 8/29/2014, 9:30 AM
Why is this not on the main page?
