POLL: What Do You Think About Tom Holland Playing Marvel's SPIDER-MAN? POLL: What Do You Think About Tom Holland Playing Marvel's SPIDER-MAN?

It took them long enough, but Marvel and Sony have finally chosen an actor to play the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man. That will be 19 year old British thesp Tom Holland (The Impossible), but do you think they made the right choice? Here's your chance to let us know your thoughts...

Now that Marvel Studios and Sony have cast Peter Parker/Spider-Man (sorry, Miles Morales fans), it's hard to think what the next big anticipated comic book movie casting is. Green Lantern? Captain Marvel? Darkseid? Shazam? Wong?! Regardless, this new Spidey is a pretty big deal, especially as he's set to make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in next year's Captain America: Civil War. Did you ever expect to see the wall-crawler standing alongside The Avengers on the big screen?

It's going to happen, and it will be followed by a trilogy of Spider-Man movies focusing on the character's teenage years in high school. In their quest to find the new Peter Parker, Marvel looked at more than 1500 actors, but it was ultimately Tom Holland who they decided is the right choice. The 19 year old apparently impressed Kevin Feige when he screen tested opposite both Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) and Chris Evans (Captain America), so if he has faith in him, shouldn't we?

The response to this casting news has been as vocal as you might expect, so we thought we'd find out once and for all how you feel with the use of a poll! Is Holland the perfect pick to don the webbed mask or should Marvel and Sony have reconsidered one of the other candidates? Here's your chance to let us know, so cast your vote and share your thoughts in the usual place...

Ive made my thoughts clear in past posts but I'll reiterate. I think Marvel went in a bad direction with this casting. Nearly all of the hero's in the MCU are middle aged or approaching there. It would have made more sense casting a veteran Spider Man that was about to graduate college or already graduated. We don't need another origin movie with the same villains. While there were criticisms with ASM, it separated itself from the MCU philosophy by making the movies more fantastically based and having villains that were created from mutations/experiments gone wrong.

Where's the "I didn't care either way, I'm just glad they finally cast someone' option?

Too bad. I already made the Spider-Mole theme and intend to get some use out of it.

Eh. He looks more like a Harry to me honestly. But it is Marvel behind the scenes this time around, and I whole-heartedly trust their skills and their judgement.

To me he looks like Harry, but if Marvel has faith in him, I'll postpone my judgment.

Who thought the Human Torch would be a good Captain America?

I like him. Gave a great performance in that Impossible movie.

This kid better prepare for the next 15 years. Evans is only in his sixth year since being cast and has done so much. Just imagine Holland in that time and more.

In 15 years he'll only be as old as Garfield was going into TASM 3. Crazy.

How dare Marvel casts a white teenager to portray Spider-Man who is a white teenager in the comics?

I want to like this casting, but I can't. I'll just have to wait and see like the rest of us.

I might be more excited if they were doing a Spider-Man movie 1st instead of throwing him into Captain America 3. But then again, I think a Netflix series would be better. Too many SM movies.

I haven't seen him in anything, but in casting Marvel are the kings, so I have faith that Tom Holland will be a great Spiderman.

My feelings towards him being cast as Peter Parker are "I like it, but need to see him in action.".

My feeling towards introducing Spidey in the MCU at this point however would be more like "Another Spider-Man? Meh.".
