Proof that name will only take you so far, and that you're movie needs to be a great movie to have any sort of lasting power at the box office.

This is no surprise, Twilight is a terrible movie franchise that has huge opening weekend potential and drops like a rock in the coming weekends and weekdays after all the teeny boppers rush out to see it.

Hated Skyfall, but happy for the Bond franchise as a whole, since I'm a big Bond fan.

Well that's good, at least the Twilight craze is finally going away. Hopefully some even more stupid does not replace it.

Have to agree with @BaneSmash,

Life of Pi was an exhilarating movie that was reminiscent of Cast Away. Does anybody know if it won Visual Effects awards or anything? I know that tiger was all CGI, but damn it, that was one of the most photo realistic animal creations to date. The only thing that gave it away was the movement because, to me, it seems they got rid of the "uncanny valley" when it comes to CGI based creautres. Like I said, the animation was a little too quick, but I'm sure once effects industries nail the fluidity of fur, skin, hair, etc. that it'll be indistinguishable from real life creatures.

I think The Avengers and Skyfall are my favorite films of 2012.

Never been a huge Bond fan, But Man... maybe I need to see this
hush - 12/8/2012, 1:04 PM
I've never been in to Bond movies really. Casino Royale was good but I loved Skyfall. It's my fave film of 2012 easily. It's the first Bond that feels really character driven, and it really worked.
2gold - 12/8/2012, 1:23 PM
Rise of the Guardians is visually great but the story is really weak. But the Sandman stuff is really cool to watch. Glad to see it moving up to #2 for the weekend. If only Lincoln could have got by Twilight as well.
Maximus101 - 12/8/2012, 2:34 PM
@dickbelt got to learn from the best right lol

Skyfall was amazing if you are a bond fan and didn't like it then something is wrong.. This movie deserves every penny!

ALmight - 12/8/2012, 6:13 PM
What is important is that twilight is almost over, a couple more weeks in theaters, then the DVD release, after that, no more Twilight!
mgeoff88 - 12/8/2012, 8:56 PM
Not only has James Bond stopped the world's most dangerous terrorists, but he has taken down Twilight. :P

And that's why they say nobody does it better than Bond.
FoxForce5 - 12/8/2012, 9:23 PM
Loved Skyfall and I'm happy for it to put an end to the dominance of a franchise that needed to die before it was first released. I thank Odin that reign of sparkling-ass vampires is done and done!!!
Hitboyj - 12/10/2012, 12:33 AM
