The first issue was rather slow and confusing but I'm excited for issue #2.

Professor X is dead again in the comics? Wow.
ToTheManInTheColdSweat - 1/13/2013, 8:41 AM
beast: the greatest hypocrite after wolverine.
RSDhillon - 1/13/2013, 9:46 AM
Cyclops, Nightcrawler and Beast have always been my favorite mutants.

How come Beast is a hypocrite right now?
I'm always behind on the comics.
mctrinket - 1/13/2013, 10:13 AM
Is that the new beast or the cat beast? Can't keep track anymore.
jimoakley666 - 1/13/2013, 10:15 AM
Yeah. Wolverine is such a hypocrite because he didn't murder Xavier and go [frick]ing schizo on the world with a raging god complex power trip while boning a slut and playing bezzie-mates with the X-Men's former enemy who was until recently believed to have murdered the love of his life, how toolish of him.

Integration and doing the morally right thing is so overrated, right?

Gambit89 - How can you think Namor is in the wrong but not Scott Summers?

Because Hypocrisy is the natural state of the human mind.

Cyclops had the Phoenix power forced upon him by one of Wolverines buddies. Wolverine proceeded to poke and prod Cyclops until it all came to a head. Why does boning Emma matter? Wolverine has a new girl every week, many of them are killers. He banged Mystique when he was last in Japan. So while Magneto is known to not have killed Jean(thus making this point well pointless), he worse then the guy who actually would have killed Jean if she wasn't more powerful. And hey at least Wolverine didn't try to kill Xavier and thus force Xavier to basically mind rape the hell out of Wolverine to defend himself.........

At least Wolverine didn't continue to lead a mutant execution squad that led to death of thousands of innocent people because he supported a a man with metal wings........

At least Wolverine hasn't killed recently.........

I got a riddle for you all
What looks like a ape a cat a Sasquatch ape a Hellboy and blue all over?

With all the crap that went down in AvX the first issue had me saying " sooo everything that just went down were all just going to be this nonchalant about it?"
jimoakley666 - 1/13/2013, 12:27 PM
@storyteller -

It was Cap who pushed Cyclops in AvX. Not Wolverine. Wolverine pissed Cyclops off when he pointed out that Scott was using the younger mutants as canon fodder.

Scott had an affair with Emma after he told Wolverine to stay away from Jean. Wolverine actually loved Jean. That's why that matters.

Wolverine banged Mystique because they have a history which started off as pissing off Sabretooth.

It was up in the air if Magneto should be blamed for Jean's death. It all depends on how you read Morrison's run. Even if you go by the "It was all Xorn" thing, it was Xorn acting with Magneto's personality. Still a bitter pill to swallow either way. So not pointless.

Wolverine didn't try to kill Xavier for no reason. He was a government agent who was told that Xavier was a terrorist and thus sent to do his job. He was lied to and Xavier showed him the truth.

Wolverine's execution squad was given orders by Cyclops.

Wolverine would've only killed Jean if it was a last resort and she was about to power up and wipe out the while planet. Scott is the one who actually took her out.

Wolverine is a soldier. Soldiers kill. His government spent millions turning him into a killer. But he's trying to redeem himself by continuing Xavier's legacy. Against his better judgement, he's trying to make a difference.

Cyclops is trying to be Magneto.

By calling a superhero team of good guys the "Illuminati", one has to question whether or not we are being brainwashed into thinking the real illuminati are out for our best interests, since now-a-days they hide in plain sight.
JimmyPesto - 1/13/2013, 12:40 PM
Brainwashing and social conditioning is what they are called.
theomegasanction - 1/13/2013, 1:22 PM
agree with you Kamen
KingLing - 1/13/2013, 4:34 PM
@jimoakley - Whoa. Mind blown. When someone lays it out like that, it makes me stop liking Cyclops at all. Never did like the whole "cheating on Jean" thing. I miss good guy Scott. So... to All-New X-Men!

Wolverine's concern about the children being used to fight is stupid. The x men has always been about teenagers learning to fight on teams. What the heck was all that danger room training for? You had the new mutants, the hellions. The kids had best be able to protect themselves because the mutant hate groups don't suffer from age decrimination. Wolverine's whole path of logic was forced and made no sense considering continuity where he has trained kitty and jubilee to fight and has also taken them into battle. Logan's switch was for the sake of story, they had to produce schism and have that lead into A vs X. But Marvel made Wolverine look like a hypocritical pussy in the process. This guy has killed hundreds, while chomping on a cigar, yelling he's the best there is at killing. Now....he has a conscious, mighty convenient. This is why cyclops journey makes more sense, he stood by his convictions to protect his people in the face of an ass hole Captain America who shows up, demanding Scott hand over hope. This is an out of character pushy Cap who doesn't think of working with the x men to fend of the Phoenix or to see what their next move should be together. Cap is more like Ultimate Cap, it's my way or the highway.

This whole thing stunk of bad writing and forced characterizations. Cap's an asshole, wolverine is a hypocrite and traitor. And fans let Marvel know that even when they try and vilify cyclop's, we know a hero when we see one. Cyclops was right Wolvie and Cap not so much. Here's another thing, wolverine is so hyped to protect the kiddies in schism but so eager to kill hope in A vs X....huh? You'd thing he'd look for another option first being that he's all about the kids now. Terrible writing there Marvel.
Harris1 - 1/13/2013, 5:02 PM
@jimoakley666- stop trying to justify bad storytelling on Marvels part. They have made mistakes with both characters. The biggest with wolverine recently. Cyclops characterization does make sense, he's always been logical and cold. I can see him being attracted to Emma. She's his yen to his yang. Cyclops is a three dimensional character, wolverine more one or two dimensional. Cyclops has made mistakes and overcome them but his mistakes makes him human and relatable. Wolverine is a killing machine who heals from everything to keep on killing. There's not a lot to the character outside of his penchant for liking red headed women that belong to someone else and his crazy backstory. Still we love the character but in this instance Marvel has been [frick]ing him over ever since they threw his popular ass on Avengers hoping x fans would pick up the book and sales would increase. It's a shame that Marvel threw away the mutual respect both cyclops and wolvie had shown for each other of the last few years for an event story where they tried to make Avengers their flag ship group due to the popularity of the movie. They damn near destroyed both cyclops and wolverine in the process.

Anyone notice Wolverine murdering a bunch of Neanderthals on sight in the Savage Wolverine #1 preview? Probably not since murdering people is pretty much what he does in every issue...

I believe there will come a time when Cyke and Wolvie will reunite
