I don't know why I keep watching these, they are quite bad, I guess it is too see what they "pick out" even though half the stuff they pick out is either because they haven't watched the movie probably, or just completely missed the point.

Sorry if comment appears twice had tech issues.
BarackObama - 2/5/2013, 11:15 AM
What does this have to do with comic book movies?

It's not funny, either. No way these guys actually saw the movie.
BattlinMurdock - 2/5/2013, 11:21 AM
Yeah, what's CNN doing in Hawaii?

...and they've thrown those "long shots" on a loop, because they weren't that long in the movie.

...Judi Dench's character doesn't smile. That's not new. She's played it that way since '95.

This one was really, really bad.
BattlinMurdock - 2/5/2013, 11:22 AM
Can't deny that Voldemort is a sexy beast, though. Glad they brought that up.

Back to my girlfriend.
Seejay - 2/5/2013, 11:23 AM

They put their foot in it this time. Skyfall is good and it is popular.
ckal - 2/5/2013, 11:26 AM

Oh, and they're seriously going to play on Roger Deakins' cinematography? Come on, now. Show some credibility.

Say what you want about Skyfall, it's far and away the most visually stunning Bond film.
BackwardGalaxy - 2/5/2013, 11:31 AM
Freakin' hated that movie. Can't believe I have to own it just to complete my collection.
SeaSerpentine - 2/5/2013, 11:33 AM
I am officially done with these videos.
Mystery - 2/5/2013, 11:36 AM
@BattlinMurdock Agreed, these guys are not funny at all, and don't know why the site is keep mentioning them
hayyam - 2/5/2013, 11:37 AM
That's not Hawaii. That's Turkey actually.
What's CNN doing in Turkey? That's just nitpicking. And that's the only thing these guys doing from the beginning. It's getting stupid.
Durf - 2/5/2013, 11:37 AM
God I hate this stupid springboard player bullshit. I can't even watch the vid
Mystery - 2/5/2013, 11:39 AM
To those who can not watch it, trust me, you are not missing out on anything
RorMachine - 2/5/2013, 11:42 AM
This wasn't particularly funny, but they do make some good points. I liked the movie but also thought it was overrated.
Nomis1800 - 2/5/2013, 11:46 AM
MMmhhh..........

No.
Ric - 2/5/2013, 11:54 AM
best part is always "starring ..." so funny names!
Knightrider - 2/5/2013, 11:55 AM
@Yayyam Doesn't matter, finding an English speaking news station in another country is very common, in fact I am to visit a country where at least one bar doesn't have English news channels.

So, knowing Bond he probably visits this bar knowing it has CNN on as despite being in hiding he'll want to know what is happening in the world, as he is never able to fully separate himself no matter how low he tries to sink
Mysterion - 2/5/2013, 12:10 PM
WOW this is their worst one yet. They were digging deep just trying to stretch out a 4 1/2 min video
malschla - 2/5/2013, 12:10 PM
It's fun reading a bunch of comments from people who miss the point of these.

Yes, it is nit-picking. That's the whole theme of their humor. Taking critically or financially successful movies (generally) and finding the silliest parts in them.

If you just relax, enjoy the humor, and don't act like somebody is stabbing your grandmother with a shank made from your wife's femur, you can enjoy them...
Silentman - 2/5/2013, 12:21 PM
oh right, you're gonna make fun of the best film of the year and quite possibly the best bond film to date...

Silentman - 2/5/2013, 12:23 PM
okay the judi dentch frowning the whole time was funny
xcan28 - 2/5/2013, 12:30 PM
Easssssyyyy 007 loyalists. This wasn't the greatest 'Honest Trailers', but it clearly had some funny and ACCURATE critiques about the movie.

Would Skyfall look as good if it was released after Casino versus Quantum? Unlikely. I still feel Casino is better than Sky. Casino - 9, Quantum - 7.5, Sky - 8.5

And the reference to the ending of SkyFall matching 'Home Alone'? Absofcckinlutely true. And best of all, funny.
RadicalDuck - 2/5/2013, 12:38 PM
This video was a pretty poor show all round. The last few just haven't been funny, and come on, criticizing the cinematography?! Its the best I've been for a while, and the dude is up for an Oscar. As I said, poor show.
JoeMomma29 - 2/5/2013, 12:38 PM
The missing hard drive was pretty funny!
Tainted87 - 2/5/2013, 12:54 PM
Guess we forgot the link at the bottom again.
Saintsinnister - 2/5/2013, 2:01 PM
I happen to enjoy these lil videos. That movie is so over rated. I liked the days when Bond had cool gadgets. A radio and Gun? Go funk yourself Q. Also that scene was mad gay.
Ryguy88 - 2/5/2013, 2:06 PM
It would have been better with My Cocaine in it!
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 2/5/2013, 2:08 PM
Seriously this movie is the most over rated movie of 2012. Nothing special at all. Don't even get me started on the gadgets.
SuperSomething616 - 2/5/2013, 2:28 PM
'Sexy voldemort' lol

Although this one did feel a little stretched...wasn't so much a pi$$ take like other ones...probably cause Skyfall is actually that good they found it hard to find any faults to pick on...
fettastic - 2/5/2013, 2:55 PM
"Fred from Scooby Doo", HA HA HA, that was a good one.

And good point about the hard drive! What the hell happened to it?
Tainted87 - 2/5/2013, 3:22 PM
The hard drive is like a car driven by a suspect. They get the data, and now the hard drive is no longer sought after.

The information had the identities of every deep cover agent out in the field. Silva put it on YouTube, so now what exactly can they do about it?

This video was a waste of time. The movie IS overrated, but it doesn't mean it was in any way bad.
flames809 - 2/5/2013, 3:34 PM
@imadick So tdkr didnt have respect for the characters? So catwomen wasnt catwomen? Or bane wasnt smart and fighting bane? They was true to the characters with there persona and all and how they act. But ya fans keep forgetting all of that just because bane didnt have his tubes or robin wasnt robin.. Yea they change shit up, but all movies do cough cough mandarian being a terrriorst in ironman 3 cough. So lets see what fans will say about tht one.. Oh nothing because is [frick]ing marvel.. Yea because marvel gets all the charater right and dont change anything...
fettastic - 2/5/2013, 3:35 PM
@Tainted87, Um, get the video pulled and get the damn hard drive?

So you're saying MI6 just throws it's hands up and says [frick] it?
LoudNoises - 2/5/2013, 3:40 PM
I think some people are missing the point of these honest trailers. Of course they exaggerate and leave out important scenes that would otherwise make some of the dumb things they point out make sense. But it's comedy. Doesn't matter if everything they say about the movie is true or not, it's just supposed to make us laugh. I laughed... movie was still good... Skyfall... Done! :p
krylonshadow - 2/5/2013, 3:59 PM
You think they were nitpicking? Skyfall was an awful, boring, overrated movie. No exaggeration on this one. I thought almost all of the same things while watching the movie, and there was PLENTY of time during the movie while nothing was happening on screen for me to realize how awful it was. The only thing they didn't mention is Daniel Craig's awful portrayal of Bond. The man has zero class. #FassbenderForBond
BattlinMurdock - 2/5/2013, 4:28 PM
Problem is, they take shots at a movie that explains a lot of nitpicks.

No gadgets? Think that may have to do with the fact that MI6 is practically underground? And they make jokes about how the gadgets in the franchise are far too overblown.

I agree that I think the third act is where it falls apart. It doesn't feel like a Bond film anymore when Bond is put on the defense. But Judi Dench frowning? ...really? That's a nitpick? Someone looked at that movie and said, "She frowns too much. They show her frowning too much. Less frowning would make a better movie."

It's not that we "don't get the point." It's that these videos aren't fresh and are stretching themselves to a point where they're now trying to just stay relevant by hitting the major players.

I like Casino more than Skyfall, but Skyfall's an incredibly strong picture, and easily one of the best in a franchise that's been around since the sixties. That's staying power and that's note-worthy.
Phlegmbot - 2/5/2013, 5:03 PM
@xcan28 @LoudNoises - thank you for being voices of reason on the board.

I thought Skyfall was pretty incredible (and not b/c Solace was so awful but b/c it brilliantly gave us an origin story of the movie James Bond right down to explaining his sense of humor)...that doesn't mean I don't agree with nearly everything in the 2nd half of this Honest Trailer.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 2/5/2013, 5:31 PM
imadick
And you are mentioning TDKR to me why?
All this movie was, was an ode to other bond films. It didn't establish itself as a new Bond movie at all. His gadgets were horrible. A pistol and a tracking device.... They made fun of the exploding pen from one of the best of Bond films. The Bond girl had the smallest role in Bond history. Q was around 20 years old, M died and was replaced, Secretary Moneypenny is black and was a field agent, and Silva's death was horrible.
Tainted87 - 2/5/2013, 5:55 PM
@fettastic
I'm saying that's all they CAN do. Consider what you're saying... what does a hard drive contain? FILES. Files are copied and sent every which way. Sure, they're encrypted, but this is Silva - he's a hacker genius. There's really nothing Mi6 can do except pull their agents, which is what they start doing.

I agree with Battlin, it was a great movie on it's own, and for all of its flaws, the good more than made up for it. The only thing that bugged me was how freaking long the climax dragged on... and on. That and Q lacking any and all charisma.
Tainted87 - 2/5/2013, 5:56 PM
@THEDARKKNIGHT1939
M was the Bond girl....
Are you really complaining about Moneypenny being black? Seriously? Sad day for you.
BenderdickCumPatch - 2/5/2013, 9:05 PM
Good movie, not that funny.
fettastic - 2/5/2013, 10:22 PM
Iliked Skyfall. It was an entertaining movie. But it was just Batman without the cape.

It starts off with him faking his own death and living in retirement until he sees a new terrorist threat and appears in the shadows near Jim Gordon's, I mean M's desk. Absolutely 100% The Dark Knight Returns.

Then it takes the plot device of Mission: Impossible and pursues the plot of The Dark Knight, right down to the villain having a messed up mouth, dyed hair, extravant clothes, purposefully being caught, phone triggered bomb, dressed like police to get close to a public official for an assassination attempt, blah blah blah.

And then it turns into the plot of The World is Not Enough with a decision M made in her youth causing someone to get revenge.

Then it turns into Batman Begins when the villain goes to Bond's family Manor and burns it down with Bond still inside, but that's ok because his father had a built-in smuggling elevator going down to a tunnel.

It's just so DAMNED derivative! And everyone's talking about what a masterpiece it is! Do you know how annoying that is?
SotNatt - 2/5/2013, 11:30 PM
"A hero so sexually aggressive...isn't he sort of raping that former child prostitute?"

Actually, this characteristic is truer to the James Bond depicted in the series written by Ian Flemming. Anyone who's actually read the books (and I have) would know that James Bond thinks of rape as more of a sexual kink than an act of violence against another human being. Because, as all members of the rape culture believe, it's simply a woman's way of playing hard to get and, eventually, they'll give in, if not enjoy themselves entirely.

That's my biggest problem with James Bond. Not so much the iconic figure of badassery that us Americans have assumed as one of our own iconic Badasses (which is ironic, considering he's British), but the character himself. James Bond is a misogynistic, egocentric, narcissistic, bordering-sociopathic would-be rapist. That's how he comes off in the books.

But it's alright because he cool and suave and Alpha-male. He's, presumably (in the mindset of similar men or men who believe themselves to be similar)what every woman wants and what every man wants to be.

I feel like James Bond is what Ian Flemming wish he'd been in the secret service, to the point that Bond comes off as a "Good ol' Boy" "Can do nothing wrong" Gary Stu.

I feel it only fitting that, in these recent Bond films, M, originally a male character, is played by a woman. I'm not saying it makes up for the blatant misgivings and degradation done to the female gender in all of Bond's creations and adaptations. But it is a pleasant irony that a character once so rooted in sexist behavior is now working beneath the very gender he thinks so little of...

As an aside, the variation is also why I didn't understand why some people were so up-in-arms over Eve Moneypenny being black. So? M was a man, Q doesn't exist in the original novels, and James Bond's hair isn't golden blonde.

Anyway...yeah, there were a lot of plotholes and WTFMakes No Sense moments in Skyfall, but it was a helluva lot better than Solace and, I felt, way more enjoyable than TDKR.
