COMICS: The Superior Spider-Man Isn't Making Friends In First Look At AVENGERS #6

"I kinda hate that guy now." Uh-oh. I guess we really should expect to see the new Spider-Man fired by Earth's Mightiest Heroes later this year as he goes out of his way to antagonise a couple of his mutant team-mates in this first look at Avengers #6.

I guess the penciler forgot that the eye pieces were 3 dimensional in P3Pn5
Shadowelfz - 2/14/2013, 3:27 PM
I thought Eternity was the sentient manifestation of the universe?
JDUKE25 - 2/14/2013, 3:32 PM
Here's hoping Spider-Man's eyes are this size in the sequel.

beane2099 - 2/14/2013, 3:41 PM
I think that's hilarious. For those of you hating on Spider-Ock, you really should give it a chance. It's pretty decent actually. I was miffed that it wasn't Miguel, but that aside it's not a bad story.
GetsugaTensho22 - 2/14/2013, 3:42 PM
See, the CONCEPT of Spider-man being a bit bad-ass is awesome. Spider-Ock, the concept, is pretty cool and would make for a great What If story.
It's just the way Dan Slott pulled it out of his ass instead of his head was horrible. At least Johnathan Hickman can make better use of it.
CaptainObvious - 2/14/2013, 3:49 PM
Why is it that Waid and Hickman can write Spider-Ock but Slott can't?
thatcoldblackcloud - 2/14/2013, 3:49 PM
Haha... Finally a Spidey with balls. I think i like it!
marvel72 - 2/14/2013, 4:18 PM
@ MARVELPSYCHO79

yeah i hope marvel treat the x-men a bit better this year, the last few years seems like they are just promoting or pushing the avengers down our throats.

i want to see more love for the x-men,they've had some decent books recently.

all new x-men
uncanny x-men
uncanny x-force(both versions have been good)
cable & x-force
x-men legacy (legion)
x-men

but i want more.

One mans bad idea is Dan Slott's great idea. The Mind Switch idea has been around Sci Fi for decades. Its one of those ideas they do on a Sci Fi and crazy comedy series when they just cant think of anything to do. Its a GOOFY idea you will find in old episodes of "I Dream Of Jeannie", "Bewitched" "Gilligan's Island", the worst and final episode of "Star Trek", "Freaky Friday", some 80's kids in adult body films and a few more crappy shows and films.
It was used in one of the worst episodes of "Justice League Unlimited".
But somehow that crappy old idea, used by the worst and most untalented writers in TV/FILM/CARTOON history, a crappy idea usually good enough for one episode of "Gilligan's Island" is used as Dan Slott's multi year build up for his year long epic.
The idea is really that huge and entertaining to Slott. His IQ and personal tastes must be so low that he found those old Mindswitch episodes from those old shows to be incredibly entertaining and fulfilling. He probably wondered why the writers of "Gilligan's Island" didnt stretch the Mindswitch idea into a multi part epic.

It's bad enough that Dan Slott would write a Mindswitch story in the 1st place but it's his attempt to make it an "event" that reveals just how pitiful a writer he really is.
Years ago when Marvel was about quality and art and stories from even their top talent was routinely rejected and improved upon, ideas such as Dan Slott's wouldve been used in one issue of a weaker Spider-Man title such as "Spidey Super Stories" or "Marvel Team Up". It may have managed to make it into some forgettable Annual. But not in ASM and not a year long extended CRAP taken by Slott in ASM.

Brokensteel1228 - 2/14/2013, 4:55 PM
marvel, why is it that the only Good spider books are venom and Scarlet........and the flagship spidey book is horrible? ntm hickman can actually get slotts idea and make it work better than slotts? marvel....i think you need to seriously get fraction, waid, or hickman on spidey, cause slotts been doing a shitty job
JayJayCAW - 2/14/2013, 4:55 PM

The only Marvel NOW books I'm getting are:
The Superior Spider-Man
Iron Man
Captain America
The Indestructable Hulk
Thor: God of Thunder
Deadpool
The Savage Wolverine
I used to get Fantastic Four, but I dropped that after issue three.

BIGBMH - 2/14/2013, 8:18 PM
@SUPERGUY15,

Only 7? That's kind of a lot by my standards. I'm interested in checking out Cap eventually. We'll see about superior. I'm too lazy/cheap to pick up much more than that.
TheSuperguy - 2/14/2013, 8:24 PM
@BIGBMH
I haven't read monthly Marvel for years so I kind of wanted to spread out and read stuff from all corners of the universe.
mctrinket - 2/14/2013, 8:44 PM
Who are those two jokers Spidey was jawing with? Are they supposed to be Avengers?
DVonShakari - 2/14/2013, 8:59 PM
Spidey is a real a$$hole and he needs his a$$ kicked too.
FriendlyNeighborhoodSpidey - 2/15/2013, 12:59 AM

So I guess Spider-Man's an asshole now. That's cool.
Mego - 2/15/2013, 9:35 AM
Im reading great comics from the new Valiant, Dynamite and DC. Marvel isnt even an afterthought.
Spideyforevr - 2/16/2013, 7:10 PM
Bring...Peter...Parker...Back.

If you want to fix this crap slott, you better add an awesome fight in the Spiderman's head between Otto and Peter.
