Will Kevin Feige Ever Leave Marvel Studios? "I’m Here For A While..."
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has already hinted that they're thinking about "Phase 3" plans for the likes of Doctor Strange, but will he still be involved at that point? Check out what he had to say about his contract with the studio after the jump.
All anyone has understandably been able to talk about recently is whether or not Robert Downey Jr. will sign another contract with Marvel Studios to return as Tony Stark/Iron Man. We still don't know the answer to that, but how about Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige? Loved by fans for making the creative decisions which have led to a Marvel Cinematic Universe, many would surely be left very worried about the future direction of their movies without him overseeing things. When asked by Collider about exactly that, Feige said: "My contract negotiations are not nearly as exciting as Mr. Downey’s. I’m here for a while, certainly through Phase Two. [The] truth of the matter is, I always sort of set a goal or set a horizon line and look towards that. For a long time it was X-Men 2 and then for a long time it was Iron Man and Incredible Hulk – are we going to be a studio by then or not? Is it going to work or is it not? Then it was Avengers, now it’s Avengers 2. So, two years after that, three years after that, I can’t even begin to guess." I'm sure you'll all agree with me when I say that I hope Feige will be around for well into "Phase 3" as well! After all, we're talking about the man who took an after-credits scene at the end of Iron Man and eventually turned that moment into a $1.5 billion blockbuster that's arguably the greatest comic book movie of all time. What do you guys think? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.
