Deadline reports that Mia Maestro has joined the cast of The Strain as, "Dr. Nora Martinez, who works so closely with Ephraim Goodweather, they finish each other’s sentences and stumble into an affair. A brilliant biochemist, Martinez cares more about people than the diseases that threaten them, but she will soon be forced to embrace a new identity as a ruthless warrior." The actress-singer is perhaps best known for starring in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, but is no stranger to television after roles in the likes of Person of Interest and White Collar. She will star opposite Corey Stoll as 'Dr. Ephraim Goodweather'. The series - which is based on Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan's vampire novel trilogy - has a pilot order (which will be helmed by the Pacific Rim director) but is being eyed for a full 13-episode pickup according to the site.

Wow. She's hot. First noticed her in Alias several years ago. Looking forward to this.

Love the books. The third one I have not read either.

Del Toro should just concetrate on one thing at a [frick]ing time.

Hmm... For what it' worth (practically nothing) IMDb says Kevin Durand is playing Fet. I could see that. But not Ron Perlman as Sardu, which basically a given. I'd still like to Abe Benrubi as Fet. And Doug Jones as Quinlan, not that he'd show up early on.

How can you guys not have read Night Eternal yet?

Guess we won't be getting a Haunted Mansion movie anytime soon....

Sounds like the boring Resident Evil movies. Not interested.
