COMICS: Marvel Offers First Look At Matt Fraction's INHUMAN; Will Peter Parker Return?

After Infinity, Marvel and Matt Fraction will launch a new series called Inhuman as part of a line-wide event - similar to "Dark Reign" - called "Inhumanity" as the Terrigen Mists get released across the world. Does the Steve McNiven pencilled cover reveal the return of the AMAZING Spider-Man?!

Compared to Game of Thrones, Matt Fraction's Inhuman series will put the spotlight on the Inhumans in a story which will apparently see the Terrigen Mists released throughout the world. This will result in millions of Inhuman descendants around the world suddenly witnessing the activation of their dormant Inhuman cells, something which Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso promises will have huge ramifications. "There is a secret superhero kingdom, and you might belong there. What do you do? And what does Iron Man do? We’re turning the entire Marvel universe into a potential battlefield. And regular people are in the middle." This certainly sounds like an odd premise for the increasingly convoluted Marvel Universe, but the most interesting thing about the cover above is the inclusion of the Amazing Spider-Man, a seemingly resurrected Nightcrawler and a new costume for Wolverine. What do you guys think?

When's this set to release? That will probably tell a lot about whether or not it's Peter though it certainly looks like the Amazing Spider-man will return. This should make some people happy! Even though Superior Spider-man is actually quite good!
JoshWilding - 7/11/2013, 7:37 AM
Oh Marvel, why are you so desperate to turn me into a "DC Guy"?

Peter's gonna be back? I never would have guessed.
LeaderVladimir - 7/11/2013, 7:38 AM
Maybe Peter will return in time for the second Amazing Spider-Man movie to get to theaters.
StrangeBlackPantherDoctor - 7/11/2013, 7:38 AM
Nightcrawler is back?
TheDpool - 7/11/2013, 7:38 AM
Wolverines new costume looks great, No sarcasm I really like it.

And Either this is just an artist drawing what he thinks he will get away with or Peter and Kurt really are back I guess the mist's could do that and if so I'm happy.
StrangeBlackPantherDoctor - 7/11/2013, 7:39 AM
I loved Dark Reign so maybe this could be awesome.
Amazing512 - 7/11/2013, 7:39 AM
Wow, this is what I love about Marvel. They are not afraid to push the envelop and take risks. The Inhumans are great but they aren't very popular. Really lookin forward to this
TheDpool - 7/11/2013, 7:40 AM
@nibs - Isn't that Romulus's twin sister (Wolverine: Sabretooth Reborn)
TheWolverine08 - 7/11/2013, 7:43 AM

TheFinisher - 7/11/2013, 7:44 AM

TelaVizion - 7/11/2013, 7:44 AM

AmazingFantasy - 7/11/2013, 7:47 AM
didnt they already get read of peter parker in ocks brain and a new suit?

doubt it's this early, sooner the better tho...
PeterDarker - 7/11/2013, 7:50 AM
Marvel doing another reboot. Broken time continuum thing from AOA I'm guessing. Thank god. The books have been shit this whole year.

That Wolverine suit is craptastic and I could give two shits about Angela.
TheDpool - 7/11/2013, 7:52 AM
@TheFinisher - Then why comment let alone check out the article?
xcrementus - 7/11/2013, 7:52 AM
Old Man Fury!! Looking badass too.

Seeing Surfer is way overdue, been too long there buddy.

Medusa's costume looks amazing, Wolverine's kinda reminds me of his debut kitty-cat mask, but the padding makes him look like he's in samurai armor. Pretty wicked.

And Nightcrawler!!

And frickin Yondu!!! THat's totally a sign that Michael Rooker is gonna be Yondu in the GotG movie.
wcwpoet - 7/11/2013, 8:03 AM
Wait Night-Crawler was dead when did that happen? Look I know Peter is coming back at least by the time ASM 2 comes out, but if it's sooner than I'm all the more happy.
Shadowmaster35 - 7/11/2013, 8:05 AM
Both Nightcrawler and Parker?! And my boy the Surfer is in there too?!?! Nothin but good things here. Only down sides is...it's another Event. Gotta stop Marvel, they lost their specialness like 4 events ago.
BIGBMH - 7/11/2013, 8:06 AM
Not really understanding the Game of Thrones comparison. Is there some position of power that a lot of people are vying for?
thenerdicon4 - 7/11/2013, 8:07 AM
I'm glad I stopped reading Marvel phew. Dodged a bullet their.
LEOSTRATOR - 7/11/2013, 8:08 AM
I loved the inhumans back when my uncle would let me read his old books. He got me in to comics and drawing, I should start sketching again.
Mrsinister - 7/11/2013, 8:08 AM
STOP THE EVENTS!!!!!
LordHuck - 7/11/2013, 8:09 AM
So this is Marvel's big [frick] YOU to Fox.

If Marvel cant get rights to mutant movies back then they are going to pump up the inhumans instead and make inhuman movies.
GRYDE - 7/11/2013, 8:09 AM
Even if Spider-Man is restored I still will never buy a Dan Slott comic. Hes a hack who's M.O. is to piss off fans to get attention and some quick sales.

The "Freaky Friday" mindswitch gimmick storyline shouldve been in an annual or a one shot. But instead its a terrible idea thats went on over a year.

Just another thing that proves Marvel's current staff are far from the House Of Ideas.

TheWolverine08 - 7/11/2013, 8:11 AM
@FanofSteel I feel sorry that you stopped reading Marvel, because you are missing out on a lot of great comics right now.
marvel72 - 7/11/2013, 8:11 AM
marvels cosmic stuff is pretty much untouchable,so i'm looking forward to this.

wasn't war of kings pretty much game of thrones?
blackagar94 - 7/11/2013, 8:14 AM
How can you people not be excited for that ? seriously what do you want ? And the ginger chick is Medusa, wife of Black Bolt, for those who wondered.
xcrementus - 7/11/2013, 8:15 AM
*shrugs* every issue of Superior Spiderman has so far been awesome to read. So was the rest of Slott's 200+ issue run.

His writing is miles and miles ahead of an actual hack, like Daniel Way or Marc Guggenheim.
LordHuck - 7/11/2013, 8:18 AM
@Dark Metal

Superior Spiderman has consistently been one of the best selling titles of all comics since its release.

It's doing so well in fact that Marvel has said they plan on keeping Octospidey around longer than originally planned.

I get that you dont like the story. Lots of people who aren't you love it though.
jasonicus - 7/11/2013, 8:18 AM
Nightcrawler is from an alternate world.
KalElOdinson - 7/11/2013, 8:19 AM
Does anyone notice that Nightcrawler is back?
xcrementus - 7/11/2013, 8:20 AM
I love that Marvel has really embraced a lot of the 70s characters again....Shang Chi, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Spiderwoman, Carol Danvers, Star Lord etc etc

Its such a good time to be reading, I dont think the entire line has been this consistenly well-written in years. And such good art coming out too.
ATrueHero1987 - 7/11/2013, 8:23 AM
I love Wolverine's new look!

A new Inhumans series?? Make me wonder if that's one of the Marvel movies coming out in 2016 or 2017...
KeefNCookies - 7/11/2013, 8:28 AM
Finally a redesign for Wolverine! Nightcrawler isnt that big of a surprise seeing Angela alongside. Got no energy for anticipation and disappointment, but definitely a bit more curious about whats to come.
souhunter - 7/11/2013, 8:39 AM
Thor has no hammer in his hand?
souhunter - 7/11/2013, 8:41 AM
Nope I see it
