Hugh Jackman Denies Reports That He's Been Offered $100 Million To Return As WOLVERINE
We all know that Robert Downey Jr. was paid a huge sum for appearing in The Avengers and the planned sequels to that movie, so it wasn't too hard to believe that Fox were setting up a similar deal for Hugh Jackman to return as Wolverine. Well, that's NOT the case according to the actor!
"No it’s not true," Hugh Jackman told Entertainment Weekly on the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past when asked about reports that 20th Century Fox have offered the Academy Award Nominated actor a massive sum of money to reprise the role of Wolverine in future movies. In fact, Jackman made it clear that it's not about the money for him; it's about the fans. "I would never do that. I’ve never done that mainly because, for the fans and for me, each time I’ve gone around there’s been a really good reason to do it and I don’t know what that reason is from here. I’m in the middle of making this and I just promoted the other and I’m really happy with the way The Wolverine came out." While The Wolverine didn't exactly set the box office on fire, it performed well, and Jackman is undoubtedly a major draw for moviegoers when it comes to X-Men: Days of Future Past. With many fans speculating that Wolverine will be part of Jeff Wadlow's X-Force, it's hard to imagine we won't see him back on the big screen sooner rather than later!
