Stranded in the present day after the events of the New York Times best-selling Superior Spider-Man series, Miguel O’Hara must come to terms with living in the year 2014. Undercover in the employ of mega-corporation Alchemax, he’ll attempt to change the course of his future and prevent the rise of one of his greatest villains!

"Miguel becomes determined to try and transform his grandfather, Tiberius Stone into a decent guy in the hopes that it will wind up informing the raising of Tyler Stone, and perhaps make him a better person," says writer Peter David in an interview with Marvel.com.  "In short, he’s hoping that he can influence the development of both the present and future of Alchemax."

"He’s going to find that’s not as easy as he’d hoped," David continued.

"It’s going to be a huge year for all things Spider!" added series editor Ellie Pyle "This is your chance to get to know Spider-Man 2099 before the Spider-Man universe gets more crowded, and Peter and Will have prepared quite the introduction!"

Can one man change the future? When the dust settles – will there still be a future worth fighting for? The battle for tomorrow begins this July in Spider-Man 2099 #1!

sicknimon - 3/27/2014, 12:18 PM
Totally picking this up! 2099 was awesome, his intro in Superior was awesome, and Superior Team Up was awesome. Awesome.
HotRodFan899 - 3/27/2014, 12:19 PM
This is cool and everything, but does anyone else think Marvel is starting to overdo it on time-displaced characters? All New X-men, the Avengers fighting their past selves in the present, and Spider-man 2099 stuck in the present time.
sicknimon - 3/27/2014, 12:20 PM
@HotRodFAn899 it all came from Age of Ultron. Age of Ultron itself was kind of a weird story, but it was basically a springboard for time displaced characters.
Sophisticated - 3/27/2014, 12:20 PM
Now lets get a Spider-Man 2099 and a Batman Beyond crossover event.
sicknimon - 3/27/2014, 12:21 PM
Also Galactus being in the Ultimate Universe
dcnoob122 - 3/27/2014, 12:24 PM
I knew this was going to happen! Im totally picking this up
sicknimon - 3/27/2014, 12:25 PM
Although the story is awesome, I'm just trying to figure out where Uncanny Avengers fits in. Kinda the only Marvel title that is WAY out in left field IMO
wookiefit76 - 3/27/2014, 12:26 PM
cool.

DestroyallTrolls - 3/27/2014, 12:28 PM
Good to see David back, such a good writer. I would think he was better known for his Hulk run than X Factor, but whatever. That was back in the day.
TheClemster - 3/27/2014, 12:38 PM

Too much thingies in his suit.

Anyway, excited for this.
wookiefit76 - 3/27/2014, 12:42 PM
What up Clem?
ODSTmaster - 3/27/2014, 12:46 PM
Awesome,I love 2099 the only thing is his suit looks like something Elton John wears in his dungeon...
Enphlieuwince - 3/27/2014, 12:46 PM
Outstanding! I hope this leads to other 2099 heroes...
Enphlieuwince - 3/27/2014, 12:49 PM
Mikari I think they're adding texture to the suit.
MarkV - 3/27/2014, 12:49 PM
Too many spider men.
ODSTmaster - 3/27/2014, 12:50 PM
And we all know what dungeon I'm talking about.
TheClemster - 3/27/2014, 12:50 PM
Not much mate

just cruising at work before my last day tomorrow :)
wookiefit76 - 3/27/2014, 12:56 PM
Last day? Or you going somewhere else, or do you mean because it's friday?
beane2099 - 3/27/2014, 12:56 PM
Of all the attempts at making future versions of heroes, Spiderman 2099 stands head and shoulders above the rest (with Doom being a very close second). I hold Batman Beyond in slightly higher esteem but that's another conversation. The world of Marvel 2099 seemed completely believable. But how could it not with writers like Peter David John Francis Moore and Warren Ellis on board?

I'm not keen on the fact that they had to dump him in the present day though. Seems like its a mandate that any and all characters whether they're from space, another dimension, or another time all have to be in current Marvel New York. But Peter David is writing it so I'm good with it. Here's hopin' Doom 2099 is next.
Melkaticox - 3/27/2014, 12:59 PM
@MarkV Amazing Spider-Man, Ultimate and Spider-Man 2099.
TIL three is too many.

How can Miguel even see, anyway?
KindredMac - 3/27/2014, 1:05 PM
Peter David???? Holy crap balls awesome!!!!
But not feeling Will Sliney's artwork for this. Damn...
ChiliConCarney - 3/27/2014, 1:09 PM
I liked the 2099 universe when it was happening. I wish they would've popped up in 616 with their current counterparts.

Maybe, instead of future versions of X-Men mixing it up with present and past these guys show up and warn of what's happened in the future.

Maybe a little too much Ash from Evil Dead, but looks better than the newest version.
ChiliConCarney - 3/27/2014, 1:13 PM
Ah... Forgot about Doom 2099...

ChiliConCarney - 3/27/2014, 1:14 PM
By the way, $1.75 for two #1 issues...

JustThwipIt - 3/27/2014, 1:22 PM
Woooooooooah! It's raining good news in the Spideyverse!
This'll be a MUST pick up!
TheClemster - 3/27/2014, 1:29 PM
@ wookie

no mate I found something else :)

going up, up and awayyyyyyyyyyyy ;)
rabid - 3/27/2014, 2:03 PM
Excellent news!
And Doom 2099 is back in the present as well thanks to Kang.
seamuskeaneart - 3/27/2014, 2:07 PM
I think all this MARVEL time rift stuff is building to a Time Civil War.
jimoakley666 - 3/27/2014, 2:29 PM
Never liked the 2099 series. It was very much a product of it's time. Mutan X was better. That one with Havok and the vampires.
kevberg - 3/27/2014, 2:45 PM
hey Josh,
Please stop writing " fan favorite artist..."
Has anyone here even heard of Will Sliney? I think josh just makes this up as he goes.

Ramiel - 3/27/2014, 2:46 PM
Yes! Outstanding!
seamuskeaneart - 3/27/2014, 2:53 PM

dethpillow - 3/27/2014, 2:55 PM
