can't get into this title at all & i'm still buzzing from captain america the winter soldier.
dcnoob122 - 3/30/2014, 4:18 PM
I remember reading issue 11 out of curiosity at a barnes and noble and it was really good, but is this series any good?
MrMartinMarvel - 3/30/2014, 4:18 PM
I still can't believe that "Dr Mindbubble" is actually a thing. He's like a shitty Silver Age DC villain.
CommonKrillin - 3/30/2014, 4:23 PM
sexy art tho.
76cidgrad - 3/30/2014, 4:26 PM
The Winter Soldier was the last good arc in this title. I used to look forward to Captain America. Now it has lousy plot lines and juvenile artwork. What a waste of paper! Marvel, your comics suck! And this comes from a fan that has been there from Day One in the early Sixties. Thank goodness the movies are excellent...

Dr. Mindbubble for villain in Cap 3 - the existence of this completely ridiculous character just gives me so much joy! Now who should play him? :D
Havensent - 3/30/2014, 4:53 PM
Is it this hard to create a compelling and interesting villain for Cap and other heroes? I honestly don't see why it's so hard.
bropous - 3/30/2014, 4:55 PM
I'm usually pretty unforgiving of Marvel Comics' new style of art.

But I like this stuff.
BasedThanos - 3/30/2014, 4:56 PM
Din't realize you already wrote that @MrMartinMarvel lol
BasedThanos - 3/30/2014, 4:58 PM
But honestly he looks absolutely ridiculous. Like he stole Riddler's costume from the dry cleaner and dyed it purple.
CrimsonFlash - 3/30/2014, 5:04 PM
I just haven't liked this run at all.
bullitnut - 3/30/2014, 5:06 PM
Why can't we have the movie costume like this ? Instead of the bell end helmet version
dcnoob122 - 3/30/2014, 5:26 PM

Hank Azaria for Dr mindbubble. Do it Marvel!
Havensent - 3/30/2014, 5:41 PM
Dear Marvel...

1. Either change Cap's outfit back or give him a better new one. This inconsistent and honestly, horrid looking design you're using for him currently has to be one of the worst in comics. I thought the idea of change was usually for the better. Well, this outfit is the opposite of that.

2. Is it too much to ask that while in your creative summits you guys brainstorm better and more memorable rogues for one of your most iconic characters in Captain America? Dr. Mindbubble? WTF Marvel?

3. Finally you got someone on art who isn't trying to draw like JRjr and his overly blocky style, so with this in mind, can you keep artists that help promote one of your premiere characters again? Is Epting or someone who draws like him not available?
OxnardMontalvo - 3/30/2014, 6:00 PM
I'm with Haven on this, as any of my past comments will verify.
ManCalledSting - 3/30/2014, 6:17 PM
Crappy attempt on Disney's Marvel Comics.
Deadpoolisawesome - 3/30/2014, 8:02 PM
I love Marvel comics but as a big fan of Cap i gotta say frick this current Cap run.
Deadpoolisawesome - 3/30/2014, 8:03 PM
@76cidgrad Alot of Marvels current comics are amazing WAY better then DCs current stuff but the current Cap run sucks. But majority of the comics Marvel is putting out kick butt.
CapemA - 3/30/2014, 8:09 PM
Remender's Cap's run is F#%KING HORRIBLE!! He took all of Brubaker's hard work at making Cap relevant again and wiped his (Remender) ass with it. How long is Marvel going to let this hack ruin Cap. Remender may be good with other titles but he SUCKS when it comes to Cap. Bring back Waid or Jurgens!!
LordHuck - 3/30/2014, 8:36 PM
This is the kind of Campy crap that just ruins things for me.
niknik - 3/30/2014, 10:10 PM
I'm going to second what pretty much every single comment on this thread has said.

1.) Change Caps costume back to the iconic version that at least is CONSISTANT. Every time I turn around someone is drawing this new piece of crap differently than the last artist.

2.) Get back some of the artists that drew Cap so well in the past. There are plenty of them out there, all Marvel has to do is spend a few bucks instead of going cheap with these crappy artists they use now. They just spent millions on the film promoting it, the least they could do is dress up the book for the occasion. Looks like total crap.

3.) Last but not least, the fact that they have editors that see something as ridiculously awful as Dr Mindbubble come across their desk and give it their approval speaks VOLUMES! The fish rots from the head down. Time to Give some of those quality editors, writers, and artists from the Marvel Age of comics a job again. There are only a select few in the business these days that warrant hanging on to. The rest need to go back to doing childrens pop-up books and Hallmark cards.

Lastly, Who is buying this trash??? Would any respectable comic book reader and collector actually pay 4 or 5 bucks for this absolute GARBAGE???!!! Not me. No thanks.
loki668 - 3/30/2014, 10:51 PM
Wait until his partner Dr. Buttbubble shows up. Things get especially nasty after that.
LordHuck - 3/30/2014, 10:51 PM
NikNik

No one wants to see skin tight spandex with pirate boots and big floppy gloves.

The Outdated old costume should never been seen again.
jimoakley666 - 3/30/2014, 11:03 PM
Hello. A story about a deviant Helicarrier? Where have I seen that recently?
Hobgobby8821 - 3/31/2014, 5:03 AM
why does Dr Mindbubble look so goofy? I thought we already graduated out of all that silly silver age nonsense long ago! I feel very angry about this...
Hobgobby8821 - 3/31/2014, 6:33 AM
why the hell does he have that thing sticking out of his forehead?
CapsShield - 3/31/2014, 7:00 AM
Lots of people here stating how much they dislike this run, but honestly, it's a GREAT run! I've read all of Cap's books from when he was brought back in the 60's up until today. This run is very reminiscent of some of the older stuff.

I don't think Dr. Mindbubble is any worse than some of Cap's other villains like the Porcupine, Armadillo, or even Mad Cap (who Dr. Mindbubble kind of reminds me of a more dark/sinister version). It's also obvious how many of you are looking at this page and haven't actually READ the recent Captain America runs. Dr. Mindbubble is goofy, but there's a reason behind him and he's really just the foot soldier anyway.

The current run is playing off the rivalry of China and America and/or all of America's past where we've gone in to hep a country and messed up. This is actually quite a relevant story line to what is going on in the world today.

Plus, all of this stuff was set up with Dimension Z and how Cap is questioning himself and choices, again (he's questioned himself before in the comics), but looking at it from a live in the now rather than the past way. I can't wait to see where this goes. It's been pretty good so far! I actually thought the Nuke story line was the weakest.
Gary8264 - 3/31/2014, 7:26 AM
After seein' the Helicarrier in the Avengers (and CA:TWS) movie I wish they'd just go with that design 'stead of the '60's comic design.
adamcawa - 3/31/2014, 7:28 AM
Dr. Mindbubble is Goldballs' estranged white daddy.
adamcawa - 3/31/2014, 7:36 AM
oh and also - a lot of Cap villains are utterly ridiculous. That's intentional. It's a nod to the golden age Joe Simon/Jack Kirby Cap villains.

Examples: The Murdering Butterfly, The Hooded Horror, The Camera Fiend, Ringmaster of Death, etc
dethpillow - 3/31/2014, 9:06 AM
@adamcawa & @CapsShield - yeah, i think a lot of people forget how crazy Cap books have sometimes been. I thought the Dimension Z stuff was really great, i just wish Romita hadn't been on it. for me, that match up just didn't work well. I couldn't look at Cap with that same Romita 2 nose on him. I love Romita on certain things, just not Cap, i guess.

but Remender totally gets it. cuz it's not just whacky in any possible way. There's a certain feel to how that kind of stuff has to be. it's not exactly sci-fi, but some of that, some pulp serial stuff, some espionage stuff, some stuff that kinda goes back to 20s-50s nostalgia or Americana kitsch. and then Cap as the straight man in the middle of it, but even he's got a screw loose it seems like, there's that feeling like Cap might just go totally apeshit unhinged someday too. but it's a combination of all that. and Remender's perfect for that vibe.

i love how a lot of times it seems like whatever Cap says, that he's saying it a little more loud than it needs to be said. like not shouting, but kinda shouting all the time. hahaha. recently in Uncanny Avengers, Cap got his ears blown out by something, and he was doing exactly that, running around with Havok, and whatever Havok said, he'd shout back at him, usually repeating what he said, but just shouting it back. Cap is so rad.
dethpillow - 3/31/2014, 9:11 AM
you know what sucks too? I bet a lot of this art is better, before they color it. just the inks. making everything look all computered out is making this stuff not as good. and what's gonna happen, is artists are gonna totally draw with that final process in mind.

it's almost like how digital recording changes how music is, not just from the sound, but from the changes in the decision making process all the way down the line. the workflow, i guess. and sometimes that's cool, that becomes a cool new way of making a thing, and how it sounds, but it cuts you off from the old way. doesn't matter how much u can get a computer to sound like a tape deck, you still end up thinking about the whole process differently.
EarOne - 4/1/2014, 4:45 AM
Rick Remender..isn't he the concept art guy at Marvel Studios..?? how come HE doesn't do the artwork here..?? kinda disappointed.
