So awesome and deserves it! And I know people like to think it was just Avengers that gave this a boost and it did, but let's start giving The Russo's more credit for putting a brilliant film together and making people WANT to see this movie. Talk goes a long way and I would like to think with Cap being the masses "boring" Avenger, they heard or seen how bada** this movie is and Cap is and went support it. So kudos to the writers and Russo's, they did that!

I loved Iron man 3 for its unexpected twist. What Killian did was [Frick]ing genius! It's all about villains doing their dirty work behind the scenes and attacking by surprise. Thor was Ok-good because Malekiths motive was just too generic for me. The only thing that really saved that movie for me was The relationship between Thor and Loki, Frigga's unexpected death and What happens with Loki. The Winter Soldier was [Frick]ing Amazing

I know many of you WANT TWS to make $700m worldwide but based on Friday's result and projections for the rest of the weekend; it is not going to happen. I'm a huge Marvel fan & want TWS to take in every red cent too but I also know how the box office works and TWS is going to finish around $540m to $580m (600m tops).

I blame Josh W. for instigating many folks to believe TWS was going to rake in upwards of $800m and possibly up to $1 billion. If you've seen my previous posts, I have a huge issue with this site always teasing ridiculous final box office numbers based off a film’s opening weekend. Josh W did it with Thor: TDW opening weekend teasing the movie would reach $1 billion and when it was clear by week 3 it wasn't coming close the flame wars & disappointment in Thor: TDW's box office started up.

Friday’s $11.9 million is not the greatest news for TWS considering it dropped last Friday to Saturday which is another bad sign for movies in opening weekend. Also, the drop TWS experienced it’s opening Mon – Thu vs. it’s opening weekend ($95 m) was really bad for any genre of movie, never mind a CBM. TWS should have pulled in about 38m opening Mon – Thu to stay on par with its $95m opening weekend and it only took in $22m which is puzzling the hell out of me.

The opening Mon – Thu take of 22m and the $11.9 million on its second Friday have definitely moved TWS off its best case scenario and likely put it in a below average scenario meaning opening weekend is going to be a huge chunk of this movie’s overall take. Granted most CBM are front loaded from opening weekend but the opening Mon – Thu take and now second Friday take point to TWS being more front loaded than most CBM.

I’m not trying to be debbie downer by any means. Read any of my previous posts, I projected all along TWS was going to do about $475 - $550 and was ecstatic with that. Even those numbers are a huge increase on Cap 1 which is phenomenal.

It’s idiots like Josh W and other writers on this site that inflate your minds teasing unrealistic box office projections to gain hits. Then when the movie doesn’t deliver the unrealistic number some people begin downgrading the movie in their comments. Ridiculous! I’ve already seen excuses in threads today “TWS is not a kid’s movie”. Don’t downplay the greatness of this movie because Josh W set some unrealistic box office expectation for his own personal gain.

Should reach 500m+ next week then. Awesome. Definitely looking like a 600m+ finish overall, only question remains if it'll have enough legs to reach (or surpass) TDW or MOS numbers.

Marvel-yeah man,i love the humor in iron man 3,i thought it was well done and funny,i loved tonys arc,his interactions with people,Killian to me is the 3rd best MCU villain behind The Winter Soldier and Loki, his plan was very interesting, his motive was not revenge at all,he is tonys biggest threat so far and it highlights tonys resourcefulness and genius that i loved, the action was very creative and inventive,my only complaints are two moments of misplaced humor and i wish maya and extremis was fleshed out a little more, but overall, really good film, thor 2 was good, the loki-thor banter and relationship, as did he relationship between figga and loki, thor and odin, those brief but well done moments help push it to good for me, the humor from loki was great, same with thors fish out of water stuff, the action was big and fun but kat dennings/the intern kep taking me out of the film, their jokes were lame and unfunny, that track was unnecessary imo and malekith was a weak villain in terms of character

Um...look, I'm not the biggest fan of some of the writers on this site either, but I seriously don't see how ANYBODY stands to gain from fooling random CBM users into thinking a movie is going to make more money than it actually will. Where's the personal gain in that?

It's a well known fact that studios primarily look at the opening weekend of any movie to gauge how much money it will ultimately make in the long run, so there's no harm in focusing on the opening weekend totals.

If certain users want to depend solely on one movie site to determine their expectations of how well a movie is going to, well that's their own fault.

I thought both THOR 2 and Cap 2 would each do half a billion global at least. So far that's being proven right.

I was hoping TWS would do $250 million domestic, but that doesn't look likely.

@ezio- Exactly. It never was about Revenge. Aldrich had a much bigger plan but that seemed to fly over the heads of some people just like how other things did in IM3. And yes the action was A LOT MORE CREATIVE then the previous Iron man films. We also got to see exactly what Tony Stark can do without his suit
