Hooded Electro.....

What a coincidence that he is the villain huh guys?
themidnightking - 4/25/2014, 3:23 PM
@BigBossKaz
This does seem familiar...
TheAbaryMan369 - 4/25/2014, 3:24 PM
Did the movie explain why he didn't burn through the sweater?
JimmyCorrigan - 4/25/2014, 3:26 PM
On a "plus note" : Peter not looking like Garfield...
Mrcool210 - 4/25/2014, 3:27 PM
oh wow, he looks like he does in the movie....ugh, why bother with this?
themidnightking - 4/25/2014, 3:29 PM
@Arbary
No
CoolioVids101 - 4/25/2014, 3:30 PM
Oh wow, he is blue and wears a hoodie now. Imagine that
TheAbaryMan369 - 4/25/2014, 3:41 PM
Well that sucks. I understand that this is fantasy, but they should still fix these little issues.
marvel72 - 4/25/2014, 3:46 PM
both covers look amazing, good to see peter back at long last.
MrMartinMarvel - 4/25/2014, 3:49 PM
At least they didn't make him a black guy for no reason.
Comicbookguy543 - 4/25/2014, 3:49 PM
I've never understood the hoodie! I would of always thought he would need a suit to contain his powers, something like what they did in the Spectacular Spider-Man animated series..
CaptainObvious - 4/25/2014, 3:54 PM
Gee, I wonder why Electro looks like this. I guess there could be a number of reasons for this.
BigBossKaz - 4/25/2014, 3:55 PM
Pete sort of looks like Garfield. Just look at the length of his neck!
Ramiel - 4/25/2014, 4:01 PM
Not digging hooded Electro. His costume is very Quicksilver-ish.
SunfireUrA55 - 4/25/2014, 4:28 PM
Ramos' art has improved a lot over the years.
Startin to dig his style now, but please DON"T EVER LET JOHN Romita draw EVER AGAIN!
Shroombeast - 4/25/2014, 4:34 PM
Electro huh? Considering he's in a Punisher comic right now, he's lucky to be alive.
xStarLordx - 4/25/2014, 4:34 PM
Marvel relies too much on their movies nowadays when it comes to comics.
sameoldthing - 4/25/2014, 4:35 PM
@Sunfire
WRONG...Romita Jr. draws a great Spidey.
Your in the minority & Marvel will continue to give JRJr Spidey stories to draw,oh yea!
Hope this book creates quality stories.
Shroombeast - 4/25/2014, 4:36 PM
Also, the chick with the tats and piercings is super cute. But I'm into that.
MercSoul - 4/25/2014, 4:40 PM
@CoolioVids101

mmmm i think..that u must buy some glasses, he isnt blue....the only thing blue are...the electricity and...the eye details...but that details he owns it before the mvoie...like 4 years ago (or more)
SimpleeComplex - 4/25/2014, 5:00 PM
Lol at 1st I thought this was the tie-in comic to the film. Spidey does look like Garfield, the neck and the pompadour like hairstyle.
Melkaticox - 4/25/2014, 5:02 PM
@xStarLordx I think that has more to do with the comics currently being little more than source material to the movies.
Can you blame them, though? Comic sales are declining, they bring very little revenue in comparison to the movies, merchandise and tv shows. You should be glad they haven't hired all their writers and screenwriters and their artists to do promotional artwork for the movies.

Stop complaining about some elements of the movies being brought to the comics already...

ChiliConCarney - 4/25/2014, 5:07 PM
I wish Electro still looked like this

or even this

instead of this.

Starkasm - 4/25/2014, 5:22 PM
^ ummm look at the second last pic...
AshleyJWilliams - 4/25/2014, 6:00 PM
Stop pulling looks from the awful Garfield films... If the look of Electro isn't broken, then don't friggin fix it!
JustThwipIt - 4/25/2014, 6:17 PM
So Ock was never really gone huh... Well, that's a shocker (pun intended).
Why does Ramos make Pete so effing skinny!? C'mon!
FusionForce - 4/25/2014, 6:34 PM
Ramos' art looks really good for once, I can follow the story easier and the panels aren't cluttered as [frick].
ChiliConCarney - 4/25/2014, 6:58 PM
@ Starkasm

On the left, he still has the costume. On the right, he has the same blue glow as he does in TASM. Seems like Electro's on a slippery slope. Just watch... Soon, he will be all blue just like Dr. Manhattan and Mr. Freeze in 616.
ThrotTheUnclean - 4/25/2014, 7:33 PM
If this title is in 616 (which I pray it is not) then [frick]! God damn I hate these [frick]ing comic book movies! Is it not enough that they constantly shit all over the source material in their movies, do they have to [frick] with the comics? I am all for changing things up for a little bit but jesus.
MightyZeus - 4/25/2014, 7:42 PM
Electro's back-story and origin in the comics is still far better than the film's version.

It's like the writers of the film did not even give a crap about Electro. The writer's where like "well, let's make him like incrediboy from The Incredibles and The Riddler from Batman Forever".
riseofloganX36 - 4/25/2014, 8:27 PM
@chiliconcarney Amen brother Thats the electro i grew up with Mebey not the mask i dont know how that would look but mebey the suit with lighting bolts on it and the green. But i gusse this crappy black vershon that Webb did fits perfect with his spider-man, you have to put garbage with garbage i gusse.

NUFF said BUB!
FrankBerzerk - 4/25/2014, 8:37 PM
what the hell? now all of you are complaining the spidey and electro look like the actors in the movie?
do you even read spidey comic ? Ramos has always draw peter like that since forever, end electro look just like that since the arc "end of earth" it's like 3 years already, even ahead of the release of the amazing spiderman movie 1 year.
and dont even complain why spidey look like andrew in other spidey tittles, because ANDREW LOOK JUST LIKE PETER SINCE MID 2000,
Dang it! Andrew just look exactly like what peter look like in Steve Mcniven Run

VIRILEMAN - 4/25/2014, 10:22 PM
So when is Marvel going to make Electro black? You know that's coming.
PeterGreyson - 4/25/2014, 10:49 PM
This is honestly embarrassing.

I mean the comments, not the art.

When the movies pay homage to the comics everyone loves it, but literally one quick scene of a comic paying homage to a movie that is coming out, and everyone has this attitude problem and hates it?

So electro should just wear the green and yellow rubber suit around even when he is obviously trying to stay hidden?

Not to mention everyone loves this stuff when batman or someone does it. Grow up everyone.
dethpillow - 4/26/2014, 1:03 AM
well we all saw how the whole Superior thing was just a movie tie in, right?

and just like in the movies, there's old Johnny Storm, popping up. smh.
and just like in the movies, we got old Aunt May married to JJJ's dad, right?
next thing you know, they're gonna kill Gwen.

"cuz the movies"....
no thank you, i'd like my Gwen to stay just the way she is.
Roguish - 4/26/2014, 1:24 AM
MJ's looking as great as ever, and nothing like that tramp Kirsten Dunst at least.
dethpillow - 4/26/2014, 1:34 AM
and now i guess they are just gonna make Johnny Storm look Andrew Garfield in the movies too. look at that....
kinda convenient right? smh.
what is everyone gonna look like Andrew Garfield now? actually he looks like Flash Thompson, why does Johnny look like Flash Thompson? maybe becuz Flash Thompson is in the new Spider-Man movie? kind of a coincidence, if u ask me.

( yeah, movies are totally influencing comic books, and i'm not happy about it either. but not in the ways like u guys are talking about. of course there is cross promotion between the two mediums. no duh.
jesus christ. how long have u people been breathing for now?
the real problem is in how the stories are starting to be structured. part of it is an unconscious and natural thing that the writers are finding themselves doing, i think. and that's natural, like whenever you write something, there is a perceived audience in your head, a listener or a viewer or whatever. and movies are now, and have been for a long time, becoming more central in that. DC and Marvel and also independents. and that's actually not such a "bad" thing at all. it changes things, for sure, but what are u gonna do? that's what happens. that's the whole history of any kind of art.
Egyptians had stronger rules to preserve things stylistically, that's why we see things that are hundreds of years apart that are fundamentally done in the same way. they were almost like facists about it, the pharaohs.
that's not good. not that it matters, really.
only in the sense that there was suffering involved in that. but yeah, comics are taking from movies, and always have, since forever, basically. and movies are taking from comics, more recently and relatively speaking.

and all these writers are aware of this, whether they want to be or admit they are or not. they just are. you cannot escape being affected by the world around you. you can think you escape, but every attempt to contact the world around you will be met with you running into the same world that you're pretending you escaped from. so there's no escape outside of delusion.

and top down kind of editorial changes are also a thing that have fundamentally been part of how comic books work since the beginning of time. when was this ever that comic books existed outside of basic capitalist concept? sure there's lots of zines and always have been, but that's not really what we're all talking about. we're talking about the "blockbuster", Big Two landscape and the answer is Never. Never have comic books existed outside of exterior pressure for sales. There's always been other agendas besides what happens to Spider-Man next month. Always. This has ALWAYS been true. That's actually why we have Spider-Man, why we have the Fantastic Four, why there's a such thing as X-Men. ok? There's no such thing as a pure drive for Spider-Man to simply exist. not even in you. if you look at yourself really hard, you will figure out that there's some reason you need him to exist that has to do with you and not with Spider-Man. It's unfortunate that it's necessary to point this out. That doesn't mean everything that Marvel or DC does has to be accepted and be called great. It doesn't mean that at all. There's nothing wrong with hating Electro in a hoody (except that you gotta wonder why that in particular bugs people so much). But better said, theoretically there's nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with disliking anything.

But to pretend it's some kind of evil web spun by the powers that be is actually the behavior of a 100% slave. If you ever have a choice between being deluded and being realistic, u need to pick realistic. Or else you're gonna end up just as stupid as u were yesterday.

Does Electro look pretty stupid? yeah. he does, actually. he looks like he's from the [frick]ing 90s. like he just got home from burning man or something.

why is this? everyone hates the 90s but in comic book culture there's some kind of thing where time basically stopped in the goddam 90s. except they added internet slang and holographic touch screens. that's exactly what it is.
comic book universe is the 90s plus internet and touch screens.
and Electro looks like crap. but that has nothing much to do with any evil plot, it's just unfortunately the way things happen. at least in Marvel and DC. I'm still glad i'm a Marvel cat rather than having to read DC all the time tho. I only read Animal Man. I love Superman, Wonder Woman and Animal Man out of DC. sometimes Batgirl. anyways, u guys complain about the weirdest things.)
dethpillow - 4/26/2014, 1:36 AM
@Roguish - Kirsten Dunst was such a bad MJ. even apart from the terrible way she was written, she went above and beyond to just be a terrible MJ. no doubt. she's good in lots of movies too, but i think she was just having a piss on the whole thing, and nothing good was written for her to save it from her nasty, fleshy grip of death.

i liked her a lot in Virgin Suicides and Melancholia. and also the one about the Parisian royalty that gets killed.

but MJ, hell no.
skullboy - 4/26/2014, 3:39 AM
Now Electro's looking more like Marc Webb's version. Just effin' great.
GreenLanternLad - 4/26/2014, 5:55 AM
Missed peter, Otto was really annoying in superior.
