Dane DeHaan Talks SINISTER SIX And Goblin's Redesign In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

Saying that he knew he, "couldn't be walking around in a purple skirt and tank top and a skull cap," The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star Dane DeHaan talks about how Marc Webb's version of the Green Goblin still pays homage to the comics and teases a return for Harry Osborn in the planned Sinister Six spin-off.

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper, Paul Giamatti, Colm Feore, Sally Field, and Chris Zylka, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to be released in the UK on 18th April and in the US on May 2nd.

Dane DeHaan was the only good thing in TASM 2.
Starkasm - 4/26/2014, 4:18 AM
The ONLY good thing? Damn.

When he describes it like that... He might have a point.
Luminus - 4/26/2014, 4:28 AM
WTF? First I get a 404 error trying to get to this article, now the video is no longer available.
Highflyer - 4/26/2014, 4:29 AM
@LadyGusto LMAO. Thanks... I'll never see that movie the same way again :p

Saying that he knew he, "couldn't be walking around in a big wizard hat and robe and a wooden staff," The Lord of the Rings star Ian McKellen talks about how Peter Jackson's version of the Gandalf still pays homage to the books.

See how it sounds when you're NOT talking about a comicbook. Get off your high horse, already.
Thedarkjediknight - 4/26/2014, 4:41 AM
Just watched a twitch stream of the ASM2 game being played, hopefully the film is better than that garbage I wasted my eye sight on
batmanvsuperman - 4/26/2014, 4:42 AM
Man this movie was awesome don't know what yall talking bout
JorEllinator - 4/26/2014, 4:45 AM
Well, after seeing the piece of shit known as The Amazing Spider-Man 2, I will not be seeing any more bullshit that drops from Sony's ass.
Mastyrwerk - 4/26/2014, 4:46 AM
Still not sure about this movie.
Stubner - 4/26/2014, 4:48 AM
@JorEllinator

You might have the coolest name on this entire site.
Stubner - 4/26/2014, 4:51 AM
You're all crazy... well... not ALL of you, but I just watched this flick and it was amazing(pun sort of intended.) Yeah, sure, like any movie ever filmed it had its hokey moments, but please try to bare in mind that it's SPIDER-MAN! The ONLY real problem I had was with Rhino being Russian and that was because he sounded stupid. That was seriously it. For a bunch of supposed comic book fans, you guys get REAL uptight when movie's have hokey comic book moments. Odd that you would bitch so much about the movies not being enough like the books and then when they are you guys complain to no end that it's too cheesy. AWESOME CBM. Everyone should go see it and enjoy it. It's not hard to if you're not too far stuck up your own ass.
JorEllinator - 4/26/2014, 4:51 AM
@Stubner

Being accurate to source material does not make a movie good, hell, if that's the case, this movie sucked even more because it wasn't accurate at all. Green Goblin and Electro's motivations made ZERO [frick]ing sense. There were plot holes the size of the grand canyon, the tone shifts like a bipolar pregnant woman and Peter Parker is still an un-likeable little twat. Not to mention that the movie is obviously cut to pieces and there's so much shit stuffed into the movie that it's either never explained or can't possibly work. This movie was awful.
marvel72 - 4/26/2014, 4:53 AM
good movie,didn't like the green goblin design but dane was good as harry.
JorEllinator - 4/26/2014, 4:53 AM
Thanks for your compliment by the way, @Stubner :)
Stubner - 4/26/2014, 4:53 AM
I never said that's why it was good. I just said it was good. READ
Stubner - 4/26/2014, 4:54 AM
Iron man 3 had just as many plot holes. Most CBM do. You're not watching The Godfather. You're watching colorful characters that are 50 years old coming to life. What do you expect? Seriously. Lighten up.
JorEllinator - 4/26/2014, 4:57 AM
@Stubner

No, I'm not expecting The Godfather, but I'm expecting a good movie.
rebellion - 4/26/2014, 4:58 AM
if you're killing gwen, it has to be done by norman. that scene was too iconic to be changed in such a drastic way imo.
Mastyrwerk - 4/26/2014, 5:01 AM
-Stubner

You're being apologetic. Don't compare it to another superhero movie.

Seriously, for its budget, I expect a well written, well crafted movie.

And for the record, Iron Man 3 only had 3 plot holes. And not summoning the suits earlier is not one of them. It was established that the debris from the explosion prevented the doors from opening.
JorEllinator - 4/26/2014, 5:03 AM
@stubner
Dude, it hasn't come out in America, yet. Spoilers.
WYLEEJAY - 4/26/2014, 5:03 AM
I remember a time when transcripts were written by un lazy authors, so the good people at work could still check this stuff out. Guess that times over.
Stubner - 4/26/2014, 5:05 AM
Well it was kind of just a prelude to the third film so... I look at it like the films not really over yet. Like Harry Potter or The Hobbit.
JorEllinator - 4/26/2014, 5:06 AM
@stubner

No, I've seen it, I live in the UK. But, still, hasn't come out in America yet.
Stubner - 4/26/2014, 5:08 AM
I live in the States, I know, but I watched a pretty damn good bootleg of it yesterday. Anyways. Agree to disagree I guess. It wasn't the best but it doesn't deserve the flack it's getting especially when you have god awful franchises like Transformers out there.
GL - 4/26/2014, 5:11 AM
Haters gon hate
JorEllinator - 4/26/2014, 5:12 AM
@Stubner

Yeah. I enjoyed it while watching it, but upon thinking about it and analysing it, I found it to be really terrible.
samsupes - 4/26/2014, 5:17 AM
Haven't seen Amazing Spiderman 1…..will not be seeing this either.
megabatfan - 4/26/2014, 5:25 AM
Saw it yesterday... Was pretty "meh" to me. Better than TASM1, but still pretty under-whelming
BlinkyStark - 4/26/2014, 5:26 AM
Pure crap movie is pure crap

please come home spidey :(

to MCU
marvelmaniaco - 4/26/2014, 5:29 AM
This film was great? Why are you hating on it, it had a great plot, good action, good villains both emotion and humour! I give it 8/10 :) loved it seen it twice it's everyone's opinion at the end of the day but I love comic book movies and enjoy every minute of them! If your a true spiderman fan you'll enjoy this film as they get his humour spot on! And his morals are great! Go see it! Can't wait for the rest of the spiderman universe films
Batmaniac - 4/26/2014, 5:35 AM
I love the deisgn Dane DeHaan's Green Goblin. I think his Harry Osborn/Green Goblin is great, and the best villain of the year so far. I'm eagerly anticipating his return in future instalments.

MrMartinMarvel - 4/26/2014, 5:41 AM
Judging by people's comments on this site, I think I'm definitely going to hate this movie with a passion. Anyway, regarding Goblin's look, I've always thought the best way to strike a balance between the comic and movie look is to do the following…

1. Have him wearing green amor similar to the one in Raimi's Spider-Man, just minus most of the embellishments. i.e The fake abs

2. Have him wear a similar mask to the one Gobby wore in the first Spider-Man, but get rid of the pointy thing and make it smooth.

3. Have him wear torn purple clothing, and his hat or maybe a hood.

So pretty much this…

What do you know, the perfect design was right in front of them.
GreenLanternLad - 4/26/2014, 5:49 AM
Dane was so awesomely awesome in this movie, even if the film itself kinda sucked
JorEllinator - 4/26/2014, 5:52 AM
I wish they didn't show GG in the marketing, it would've been a nice surprise despite Harry's motivation making no sense whatsoever.
Tainted87 - 4/26/2014, 6:00 AM
Right, because the Joker can't walk around with green hair, make-up, and a purple-suit, right?
thewolfx - 4/26/2014, 6:03 AM
Pays homage my ass

Non the villains in this movie respects the source material much at all

Hey ddane or daann or w,e .. you dont have to wear a [frick]in skirt and a skull cap but they coulda made a gg suit that looked close to the spectacular spiderman gg while updating the suit

Its called thinking .. something sony sucks at in the movies
thewolfx - 4/26/2014, 6:05 AM
@Batmaniac

I dont like you -_-
Pasto - 4/26/2014, 6:18 AM
