Who's the numb-nut who thinks it's only gonna gross $300-$350 million worldwide? It's already nearing $200 mil and not even released yet in the USA. Lemme guess; some delusional Distinguished Competition enthusiast.
poop23 - 4/29/2012, 10:53 AM
"I don't like marvel so i'll vote on $300M out of spite, only to be quickly proven wrong in a few days"
Ironnick - 4/29/2012, 10:57 AM
It will make around the same as the first Transformers, $700-$800 million.
JerBear - 4/29/2012, 11:07 AM
@Ironnick
Nah, I see no reason it won't make a billion
JerBear - 4/29/2012, 11:08 AM
Pirates 4 did it and The Avengers tops that movie in every single aspect.
GLprime2814 - 4/29/2012, 11:22 AM
I've seen worst movies make 1b this movie is a. O brainer.
Mystery - 4/29/2012, 11:37 AM
Easily 1+ bil
IAMTHEBATMAN13 - 4/29/2012, 11:40 AM
no 1+ bil. not even. more like the dark knight rises will earn that
SCOURGE - 4/29/2012, 12:01 PM
I think 1.3 to 1.5 Billion in the end
Godzillafart - 4/29/2012, 12:12 PM
TDKR will make muffins on the muffin top.
InfiniteMonkey - 4/29/2012, 12:17 PM
It should make loads to have so many bangs after that. LOL
bababoozer - 4/29/2012, 12:25 PM
Having seen it, close to a billion.
LeonB - 4/29/2012, 12:37 PM
having seen it twice and going to see it for a third time i am thinking billion +
Zarog - 4/29/2012, 12:43 PM
With the current rate it's picking up steam, I would say that anything less than $700 million at this point would be a total disappointment. Since it will make more than $210 million before it even hits the U.S., and the fact that the anticipation numbers are off the charts, it would be a let down if the film didn't pass $600 million worldwide after the first 10 days in U.S. release.
NewSuperAvengerCBM - 4/29/2012, 12:45 PM
Billion dollars...make it happen!
TheMyth - 4/29/2012, 12:58 PM
knossis, tragically I agree with you. I personally REFUSE to steal anything from anyone at anytime, which is exactly what bootleg movies are. I've gone into this topic many times and their is nothing worse than a thief... nothing.
jj72 - 4/29/2012, 12:58 PM
After hearing feedback from my friends in england and the philippines, I have already bought tickets for each day next weekend. With so much going on, pretty sure I'll miss something on the 1st and 2nd watch.

So, when's the blu ray planned for release? LOL
Hulk2008 - 4/29/2012, 1:01 PM
Domestically, it will surpass The Dark Knight and may even go to $600mil plus

Worldwide, well over 1 Billion$$.

Anyone disagree? Too bad. It will break records domestically.
Hulk2008 - 4/29/2012, 1:02 PM
Is it possible it could break Avatar's Domestic record of $760,507,625? Well...maybe not Avatar...but I would not be surprised if it hits the $700 million dollar mark.
TheLoveDoc - 4/29/2012, 1:08 PM
Around 1 billion no doubt.
Kosiji - 4/29/2012, 2:13 PM
1 billion. Come on,it's The Avengers!
macfint - 4/29/2012, 3:01 PM
! billion+. This is getting ridiculous hype, buzz and reviews. It's gonna blow up, dumb
asses.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 4/29/2012, 4:17 PM
Obviously everyone is going to pic the billion+ one. That's just what they want it to make, not what it is going to make.
Battista987 - 4/29/2012, 4:34 PM
It will probably surpass The Dark Knight, but probably not avatar...
ahhmynuts - 4/29/2012, 4:59 PM
IT WILL SURPASS EVERY MOVIE EVER COMBINED OF ALL TIME...EVER
AlSimmons - 4/29/2012, 6:16 PM
what's with the Pound sign typo lol?
deadpoolstaco - 4/29/2012, 6:29 PM
i have about 40 people going with me to the midnight showing
deadpoolstaco - 4/29/2012, 6:30 PM
so billion
Lobo69 - 4/29/2012, 7:46 PM
I have seen this movie 4 times already and I have to say that everytime I see it, it gets better.
Everyone I know that has seen this movie has been blown away by it and they are planning on seeing it again at the cinemas. Do yourself a favour and boycott the pirate.
Ruffalo(had my doubts, loved Norton) best Hulk ever, a Hulk movie with him in it will kick ass.
This movie will go way over 1 billion worldwide and with a very good chance of blowing Avatar away.
vtopa - 4/29/2012, 7:52 PM
It will make a billion point 2. Domestic will probably be around $480 million. There's a chance with them releasing in May and no real competition for weeks that they could go past $500 million but it would have to have the same staying power as TDK to do that. Either way it'll be something like Avatar, Titanic, TDK, Avengers for all time.
SageMode - 4/29/2012, 10:32 PM
It's funny how people can conceive that it's a nobrainer for TDKR to make a billion, but the thought of the AVENGERS is hard to believe? Please!..........
ComicbookPhysicist - 4/29/2012, 10:33 PM
@Nutanyahoo
Why would you boycott a movie just because people from other countries get to see it before you?
"Arrogance may not be a uniquely American trait, but I must say you do it better than anyone!"
HULKSGTR - 4/29/2012, 11:12 PM
@Natanyahoo

Want some tissues??
Epicenter - 4/29/2012, 11:19 PM
After having seen it, I will throw out my previous vote of 800 mil. It will pass the 1 Billion mark without breaking a sweat, and probably finally start losing steam at around 1.3 billion. TDKR will try its best, but will fail to acheive surpassing Avengers this year. I'm sorry, but we pretty much know what we're in for with a Nolan Batman movie by now. The ensemble hero movie that has finally been done right will sink Bat's battleship.
Avengers Assemble!
MadTitan - 4/30/2012, 12:52 AM
i wouldn't be surprised if it will reach that 1B mark after all this film deserves more repeated viewings for a more enjoyable experience, lol

Avengers Assemble!!!
bropous - 4/30/2012, 7:20 AM
I think $1 billion plus is NOT out of the realm of probability.

Got my ticket for the first showing Friday!!!!!!!!!
plasticman - 5/1/2012, 11:27 AM
I will see this movie multiple times...with friends and then family. I can imagine that I am not the only one.
Chaplin - 5/1/2012, 11:33 AM
Definitely over a billion, considering it's playing in 3D and IMAX 3D and the fact that its already going to make half a billion by this sunday.....after only two weeks!

Its not going to top Avatar, but it'll make big bucks at the box office
Netman0007 - 5/1/2012, 11:38 AM
MAKE OVER 1 BILLION LET'S DO THIS
boomshuka - 5/1/2012, 11:44 AM
HULK SMASH BOX OFFICE RECORDS!!
Ortonito - 5/1/2012, 11:47 AM
The reason this film got shown everywhere else first is to build up anticipation for the U.S. domestic market, at a guess?

With that hype in mind, this film will easily open with $200m and go on to break $1b

Joss Whedon knocked it right out of the park! It's rediculously good!
marvel72 - 5/1/2012, 11:59 AM
i would love to see it take a billion but i'm not sure if it will,it'll be f*ckin close if not.
ACira - 5/1/2012, 12:37 PM
I wouldn't have thought this before I saw the film, but this may actually be the movie to topple Avatar. I have that much faith in this film, it's kicking up a storm here in the UK.

Tomorrow especially, I can see cinemas booming, since it's the first Wednesday showing of The Avengers since release (UK cinemas offer 2 for 1 tickets to certain customers on Wednesdays so they're always at their busiest), then next week is the UK Mayday bank holiday. That's UK sales booming alone. Combined with the Chinese, Russian and US releases coming soon, and the fact that this film has had tonnes of repeat viewings (I've heard of loads of people who've gone at least twice, and I'm going twice tomorrow and possibly once the next day)... yeah, this should easily make the top ten highest grossing films of all time. At least the top ten.
monstalova - 5/1/2012, 4:12 PM
Well since ticket prices keep going up and up. If 1,000 people see Avengers it will make 1 billion. Ticket sales are what counts! The inflation difference that they put on wiki, imdb is way off!! I used to work for Paramount and they have different figures - Sound of Music is number 1 for ticket sales all time
TheBatman1 - 5/1/2012, 4:30 PM
I would say around $800 million. No way will it break a billion
RCatman23 - 5/1/2012, 4:31 PM
@knossis i totally agree you about the heath ledger thing, he made that movie. Still saddens me that he is gone, he was on the verge of a great career. The only way this makes as much as the 2nd one is if it is so epic that even my grand mother goes to see it...
Hulk2008 - 5/1/2012, 8:00 PM
Avengers is breaking records...Why would it not make $1 Billion plus???

$850 mil? Are you guys kidding me??????
EditNinja - 5/2/2012, 12:56 AM
I wish it the very best.
opencurtain - 5/2/2012, 10:26 AM
The problem Avengers has is its the Avengers and a Marvel comic movie not every one likes this genre or knows who are what the avengers is , where as if you put James Camerons name before a movie with plenty of hype it can break records , I see Joss Weadon having the same Box Office draw when it comes to film making very soon in fact with the advent of the Avengers in the US his time has surely arrived as a major player in the movie business .
Marc65 - 5/14/2012, 11:01 PM
final box office gross 1.6 Billion
