MALCOLM MAKES AN OFFER TO HELP TEAM ARROW - Still operating without Oliver (Stephen Amell) and desperate to stop Brick (guest star Vinnie Jones), Team Arrow is forced to consider Malcolm's (John Barrowman) offer to help shut Brick down as Malcolm has a personal score to settle with the felon. Roy (Colton Haynes) and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) point out that the team could use some help to save the innocents of The Glades, but Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is adamantly against it. They look to Diggle to make the final decision. Meanwhile, the flashbacks chronicle Malcolm's descent from kind-hearted father and husband to cold-blooded killer after the murder of his wife. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Beth Schwartz & Brian Ford Sullivan (#312).

In the aftermath of this victory, Season 3 opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen — not as long as the city needs The Arrow.

Arrow features:
Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Arrow
Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak
David Ramsey as John Diggle
Willa Holland as Thea Queen
Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance
Colton Haynes as Roy Harper/Arsenal
Paul Blackthorne as Captain Quentin Lance
John Barrowman as Malcolm Merlyn/Dark Archer
Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke
Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/Atom
Karl Yune as Maseo Yamashiro/Sarab
Rila Fukushima as Tatsu Yamashiro/Katana
Katrina Law as Nyssa al Ghul
Matt Nable as Ra's al Ghul

Ironic that Arrow has tried to be Nolan and now it copied the same buildup and letdown of TDKR and that films disgraceful lack of understanding of the human body.

Nolan fans thought Batman would get his back broken and need the Lazarus Pit to restore him. Cool, right? Nope. What they got was an easy way out of the situation the writers put him in...the magic back punch.

Arrow fans thought after Arrow was stabbed and sent falling over a cliff that he would need the Lazarus Pit to restore him. And maybe he would need to find a way to get even better at fighting for his rematch with Ra's. Cool, right? OH HELL NO! Not cool at all. What they got was a guy who's body would be shattered AFTER FALLING 1200 FT and he would've been dead for days and in rigor mortis. But it was all fixed with HERBS and penicillin.

So how would a dead guy ingest the magic herb potion? Even if you injected him with it or got it into his stomach his body would be shut down and couldn't adsorb it. Though I'm sure a certain Arrow apologist will explain that in the Arrowverse, corpses are known to sip tea.

Arrow's writers routinely avoid the hard stuff. They write around characters training consistently. They took Oliver from amateur to mega-archer in 2 minutes in a flashback scene. No one taught him how to position, breathe or release. He just does it. And they created a cliffhanger and then cowered away from writing a reasonable and believable resolution.

TDKR spent time creating realistic perils for Batman but quickly solved them with a back punch.
Arrow did a realistic Arrow vs. Ra's fight and buildup to Arrow demise. But fixes it instantly with a cup of tea.

Buildup....letdown. The result of people starting something they could not finish.

@JackFapper - After the half of season 2 the writers are using the same method that the Lost did. They build it up, but because they have no idea how to end it they decide to do something stupid.

@MrSuperheromoviefan I agree. And out of curiosity, I decided to take a look at tonight's Arrow After Show just to see if one of Arrow's biggest fans and supporters would be in blind denial over the sorry state of that show. I was surprised at what I found out on his Twitter.

I think the stuff she gave him will be revealed later on to be something other than antibiotics. Maybe alpha or mirakuru or lazerus pit backwash. At least I hope that's the way they go. This show always has to have plot twists so that's what I'm hoping.

You know uoud think since this is a CB TV show people would already be expecting to suspend some belief, but I think some guys forget that. Im stuff like that happen in comics all the time. Normal human Heros like Batman, Hawkeye, Green Arrow, Nightwing, etc. accomplish and do things that I'm 100% that no human should be able to do. But I suspend my belief when I read those books. I recommend you all do the same with this show, or else you will be hating a lot of episodes

Ok here's the thing. This is a show based on a comic book. A show that shares a universe that has a man that can run so fast that he can run on water. It had some miracle drug that turned people into super humans. I'm sorry but saying a show based on a comic book sucks because it doesn't stick to reality makes no sense. Like @Dinotron said it's called suspending your belief. Maybe the fall wasn't that far down not to mention like they said the cold helped preserved him.

Darkjedi41 - 1/29/2015, 5:23 AM
I'm willing to give them to the end of the season to see if she used some kind of Lazarus type thing to save him and it leads to a season 4 story line, but some of the other stuff is starting to bother me- are you telling me China White would not have recognized Oliver Queen from being around Starling City and running the triad there prior to the crash?
BackwardGalaxy
BackwardGalaxy - 1/29/2015, 5:26 AM
First off, I don't understand the people saying he fell a million feet off the mountain. I assumed he landed on a ledge not that far down. That said...

I didn't hate the episode, but their explanation was basically "he lived". Like, seriously. That's their entire explanation. He gets stabbed and kicked off of a mountain and the best they can do is... "he lived"? I just... I don't even get it. What is that?
TheRockmore
TheRockmore - 1/29/2015, 5:37 AM
@ComicsBornAndBred Green Arrow has used that trick many a time

@BackwardGalaxy They always wrap this up...they have played very coy with the dialogue they have used when Tatsu, Oliver and Maseo speak about his "death" or near death experience

@mayhem101878 @Dinotron Thank you both for having a brain...can't stand the comments on here that spew lack of thought

@Darkjedi41 Considering its been 4+ years...and they saw each other for all of 12 seconds...its 100% believable she wouldn't have recognized him...

Season 3 of show it's disappointing to say the least, funny how CW fanboys keep glorifying the writing of this show over Constantine when it's CLEARLY the worst of any DC show atm.

That being said, can't wait my boy Slade come back and kick some serious ass.
