Going against Cardinals vs Ravens on Monday Night Football. It might do okay numbers since nobody gives a shit about those teams.

This still makes no sense...

"12 year old Kara escapes Krypton AT THE SAME TIME as Kal-El. Years later, at 24"

That's only 12 years...Clark would be 12 years old. Yet they reference Superman in the pilot more than once.

What the [frick]?

Loved the first episode, this series is lighthearted and the actress fills the room with her smile. Nothing wrong in having a happy lighthearted series like "Lois and Clark"

@VictorHugo

Has that been mentioned? Do we know it took her like 20 years longer to get to Earth than Kal?

It's not a big deal, I have no interest in watching this show, but it just irks me.

I also don't know how old Clark is in MoS, I just assumed 33 because, ya know, Space Jeebus and all...

Hold the phone....if she was 12 when she left Krypton, and Superman was an infant, then she'd be older than him. If this story takes place when she's 24 -- then Superman would be 12 years old. How can he already be Superman then?! -- I know that's not how the story goes, but the plot synopsis they wrote to explain that whole deal is confusing and makes it sound that way.

Can't wait for Supergirl. Mellissa is great casting as Kara And i really like the light tone and the action Vartox was a great villain in the pilot and it will cool to see if Despero shows up at some point.

Thought the pilot was pretty bad, but so are lots of pilots (remember AoS? Yikes). If they get a solid fanbase, maybe this show can go places. I like the Melissa Benoist choice though. (and her internet pics, but who doesn't?)

That's @xcan's ex wife. She took to the eats after he cheated on her with an Asian school boy in Sarnia.

I didn't watch the pilot because I don't have a uterus, but you can tell they're trying to capture the female audience with this show. Everything about it screams female empowerment.

I can guarantee there's a scene in the first season where Supergirl literally breaks through a glass ceiling.

@fettastic

I never saw the pilot, just that 6 minute (felt like an hour) trailer. So they basically use the same theory that the 09 Star Trek did with Spock and the Romulans hitting the black hole seconds apart and coming out 25 years apart?

LMAO @mercwithmouth. We need to set up a competition between you and xcan to crown CBM's top Canadian.

Lol. There's no competition. Manitoba beats Ontario everytime.

And @DrDoom is Canadian too.

@mercwithmouth

Yeah, there's going to be all sorts of feminist shit in this. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing because I don't really know of any other show that's trying to do that, so it might work out.

And DrDoom was banned again so he's disqualified.

Wait a minute this is an incomplete synopsis. Where is her crying scene where Hank Henshaw tells her they don't need a girls I mean "aliens" help and she should let the men I mean "humans" do the work. Then her sister can come over and tell her how awesome she is and that she is woman I mean "alien" hear her roar. Then they can have a little fashion montage to get dressed and go back to Hank Henshaw. Who will magically have a complete turn around on his original prejudice and tell her go save the day girl I mean "alien".

Spoiler:

The oppressive absence of Superman (or "your/my cousin" or "the big guy" or whatever euphemism they want to use), the ridiculously awkward recasting of Jimmy Olsen as an ebony Adonis, and the unironic reiteration of every bad "girl superhero" cliche along with cribbing the basic cast structure from Arrow and Flash is all very very painful.

Benoist is likable, the costume looks good. Just about everything else is starting off on completely the wrong foot. That's not fatal (shows can and do improve), but I'm not hopeful.

Why does he keep getting banned? I've seen the reported comments and there's nothing ban-worthy there...
CombatWombat
CombatWombat - 8/26/2015, 8:56 AM
Apparently there are one or two users who keep making fake accounts for the sole reason of reporting Doom's comments and getting him banned ... which is pretty pathetic, really...
AsgardianHobo
AsgardianHobo - 8/26/2015, 9:20 AM
Poor Doom......

First, he had to witness that horrible Fantastic Flop interpretation of his favorite character. Now, he gets banned by some kid that just has to create 2 accounts? That sucks

Maybe, just maybe, this show isn't meant for typical fanboys and has a different target audience in mind?

Just throwing that out there.

@SauronsBANE

Your right I just wish the show wasn't built on pandering to the female audience with all the usual cliches of female films and entertainment it comes across as insulting.
SauronsBANE
SauronsBANE - 8/26/2015, 9:56 AM
@pesmerga44 I'd like to hear from actual female audiences if they think it's "pandering" and "insulting" or not.

Plus, it's only the pilot. It's a bit too soon to say that the entire show is built on that.
