We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 features:
Director: Marc Webb
Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro
Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn
Sally Field as May Parker
Campbell Scott as Richard Parker
Embeth Davidtz as Mary Parker
Colm Feore as Donald Menken
Paul Giamatti as Aleksei Sytsevich/The Rhino
Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn
Marton Csokas as Dr.Kafka
B.J. Novak as Alistair Smythe
Martin Sheen as Ben Parker
Chris Zylka as Flash Thompson
Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy
Felicity Jones in an unspecified role

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters May 2, 2014.

Even if this movie does end up sucking, it will still have some of the best Spider-man visuals ever in cinema.
bobevanz - 3/26/2014, 3:40 PM
No sucking! Not today! That's what she said.... -_-
CaptainAmerica31 - 3/26/2014, 3:42 PM
The effects are great. If you remember the first trailer, the cgi was pretty bad, it was video game bad. But as the trailers were released it improved. Look at the latest trailer, it's effects are top notch. They're absolutely incredible
CaptainAmerica31 - 3/26/2014, 3:43 PM
Oscorp wasn't in the comics??
ManofSteel23 - 3/26/2014, 3:49 PM
More silly like some guy just falls in to some pit at night where some guys just happen to be doing some tests with sand...
FoneBone - 3/26/2014, 3:53 PM
ManofSteel22

Well, NOTHING is as silly as Sandman, but they could be more original.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 3/26/2014, 4:02 PM
Movie will be the definitive spidey film.
MightyZeus - 3/26/2014, 4:03 PM
I think the visual effects have improved for the film from the latest trailers and tv spots.

Hopefully this movie will be great and better than the last TASM.
FriendlyNeighborhoodSpidey - 3/26/2014, 4:04 PM
@FoneBone dude what are you talking about? Oscorp has been a part of the comics since the 60s.
http://marvel.wikia.com/Oscorp_(Earth-616)
CaptainAmerica31 - 3/26/2014, 4:14 PM
Yea I thought so @Friendly
EpitomeofAwesome - 3/26/2014, 4:15 PM
Yeah, I have to side with @Friendly here, Oscorp is in the comics, and has been for a long time
Supermandatory - 3/26/2014, 4:16 PM
@therealremy

I Agree
FoneBone - 3/26/2014, 4:16 PM
FriendlyNeighborhoodSpidey

I said nothing. That was...a different FoneBone that said that
FoneBone - 3/26/2014, 4:17 PM
I didnt even know Oscorp was in the comics...and I CALL MYSELF A SPIDER-MAN READER?
SuperiorMrGod - 3/26/2014, 4:20 PM
@FoneBone

Its a very modern approach to the material that can be better understood by audiences. Every Spider-man villain is for the most part is unrelated to the other and yet pic names like Dock Ock, Vulture,Scorpion,Rhino,Chameleon,and so on. How else would you connect them. This is a very original approach to the material which I feel is very spot on. Your claim couldn't be more illogical.
SuperiorMrGod - 3/26/2014, 4:25 PM
Fans like you are why people have such a jaded view on the CB community.
FoneBone - 3/26/2014, 4:26 PM
Its just lazy to me. That sounds like a very logical reason for thinkingmaking every single villain's origin linked to OsCorp. I'm not even saying a couple can't be linked to OsCorp, but every single villain?
SuperiorMrGod - 3/26/2014, 4:30 PM
@AnnoDomini

Even though this may not be the definitive Spider-Man to you it is to many. Not everyone thinks the way fans do. For most mainstream audiences this may be there definitive Spider-man. Not to mention after this film series there not going to make anymore for at least a decade or two.
FoneBone - 3/26/2014, 4:32 PM
What does that mean? I didn't go, "everything should be like this!," no, I simply stated my opinion, so don't make invalid generalizations. And by the way, people don't have jaded views of the comic book community because of "fans like me," they have jaded views of the comic book community because they say cruel, irrational things, because they support a certain company.
FoneBone - 3/26/2014, 4:35 PM
@AnnoDomini

Exactly. It's just not good story-wise to do that.
SuperiorMrGod - 3/26/2014, 4:36 PM
I understand where you guys are coming from, but not all movie adaptions are going to be copied and pasted from the comics. I don't have a hard on for Webb (I was as much disappointed in TASM as you were) but I'm just saying it is understandable to go that route in order to connect the dots. I mean look how silly Spider-man 3 turned out. Venom and Sandman's origins were one of/if not the most ludicrous thing Ive ever seen in a CBM
SuperiorMrGod - 3/26/2014, 4:40 PM
@FoneBone

You didn't even know Oscorp was in 616 or Ultimate so arguing with you about this character seems pointless. And yes fans like you. You bitch at every little thing before a movie is out and that's just pointless and overtly critical.
SuperiorMrGod - 3/26/2014, 4:42 PM
@AnnoDomini

I think definitive is a relative term. To me the definitive Spiderman is from the comics but to some it may be Sam Rami's Trilogy or even the Spectacular Spiderman. It depends on what you've been exposed to.
FoneBone - 3/26/2014, 4:49 PM
No I don't. I've read Lee and Diktko/Romita, MacFarlane, Slott, and I know the damn character. What do you do before a movie comes out? You form opinions about it, whether it looks good or not, and we both have opinions on the movie, which isn't out yet. You think the OsCorp connection is fresh and I think it isn't. We have different opinions. And I'm sure that nearly every comment being us arguing is getting annoying. So, let's just leave it at that.
FoneBone - 3/26/2014, 4:51 PM
Anyway, the effects for this film look...dare I say...

MARVELLOUS!

HA! You thought I would say AMAZING, didn't you?
JJJameson - 3/26/2014, 4:54 PM
My heart beats a little bit more faster everytime I see a The Amazing Spider-Man 2 related news.
thewolfx - 3/26/2014, 4:56 PM
Hey i have a question

Why does electro look like a jellyfish dr manhatten

Why does rhino look like a reject transformer dinozord

Why does that goblin look like a methhead ???
FoneBone - 3/26/2014, 4:57 PM
@SuperiorMrGod I think the definitive version is from the comics as well. See? We agree on something.
FoneBone - 3/26/2014, 4:59 PM
@thewolfx

I do not have the answer to that question. I'm sure we're all asking that.
FoneBone - 3/26/2014, 5:00 PM
@JJJameson

Haha. Nice, that was a good one.
CaptainAmerica31 - 3/26/2014, 5:04 PM
@Anno what someone thinks is the definitive spider-man or batman can be completely different from your understanding of what the definitive spiderman is.
thewolfx - 3/26/2014, 5:10 PM
@ fonebone

Wait i think iv gotit!

Everything is linked to oscorp
And oscorps number one priority is to make shit designs

Which explains spideys first suit and the lizard :)
FoneBone - 3/26/2014, 5:12 PM
He meant definite not definitive. You guys are actually both right, since this isn't the definite Spider-Man, but it can be the difinitive Spider-Man to someone else. So, you guys are both right.
FoneBone - 3/26/2014, 5:13 PM
@thewolfx

That among other things.
CaptainAmerica31 - 3/26/2014, 5:35 PM
Rhino isn't from Oscorp
Kevwebsz - 3/26/2014, 7:15 PM
BANEofExistence - 3/26/2014, 7:44 PM
cool... I'm wondering who the sinister six will consist of and if we will get eddie brock jr. (I hope) as Venom!

my preferable Sinister Six

1- Doc Oc
2- Vulture
3- Rhino
4- Electro
5- Sandman
6- Mysterio OR Kraven
peppy - 3/26/2014, 8:30 PM
ILM will always be number one for special effects
amazingspideygal - 3/27/2014, 6:29 PM
TASM2 is pure eye candy. The visuals look fantastic, maybe best ever for a comic book movie.
