Many characters have appeared in the X-Men comics over the years, but only a handful have managed to make it to the silver screen. When audiences first saw the X-Men debut on screen in 2000, many enjoyed the well crafted film, although it was not quite as comic faithful as most wanted. Eleven years later, audiences did not expect an any more faithful comic adaptation from the prequel, due to its ties to the previous films.

X-Men: First Class opened to financial and critical success, but fans are divided over deviations the film made from the comics books. Most still agree though that despite the story differences from the comic books, the portrayal of the characters was generally well done. Many enjoyed Nicholas Hoult's Beast and James McAvoy's Charles Xavier, and fans raved over Michael Fassbender's performance as the to-be mutant leader Magneto.

Alright, CBMers, now that many of you have seen Matthew Vaughn's First Class, which character did you feel got the best portrayal? Who did you want to see more of? Did one character just stand out as exceptional to you? Vote in the poll below and share your opinions in the comments with the rest of the community!

Thanks for voting! Have a great day, CBMers!

My personal favorite was Havok. I thought he was really well done and was disappointed with his lack of screen time.

I also loved Fassbender as Mags. Perfect casting! And one of the best performances in a CBM yet.

Xavier was my favourite character by a mile, Mcavoy really came in to his own in the training scenes he was oozing Prof X at that point. Don't have to check the results to know that Magneto's probably got the most. Its easy to play the flashy character. Although hats off to the Fass he was awesome as Erik lets see how well he does as Magneto in the sequels.

Hoult as beast comes in 3rd for me dude was awesome, hope fully beast and the rest of the team along with Xavier get more screen time since Eriks journey to becoming Magneto's done. and for the love of god fix up the make up for beast they should go with full mo cap, the make up hindered Hoults performance at the end. The dude that played Havok was pretty good.

wolverine cameo was ten seconds long & he still said more than riptide.

Charles. I may be biased when it comes to McAvoy's acting, but whenever X wasn't on screen I found my self counting the seconds till he'd be back.

Obviously it will be Magneto, and the guys voting for Wolverine are stupid.

Loved Fassbender as Magneto, blew Ian right out of the water (easy to do since I never did like Ian's Magneto)

My vote goes for Mystique. It was nice seeing her as someone who showed a good side to herself for once instead of a heartless villian with a heart of ice. She displayed a human side, somewhat innocent, and basically a sweet person. Her siding with Magneto makes sense too because he's the only one who accepted her true appearance when no one else did.

It's gotta be Michael Fassbender and only Fassbender because of the wonderful character play, build up and emotions.

'Magneto' in future sequel will just be a ruthless leader who fight for his goals.
