Harrison Ford Wants More Indiana Jones!

The Indiana Jones actor himself confesses what everyone already knew, his desire to see more Indiana Jones up on the big screen.

It's no secret that Harrison Ford is a Indiana Jones fan. In fact if I played the whip cracking archeologist I would be a fan of my own work as well. Even with elements such as jumping out of a airplane using a yellow raft to land correctly, or surviving a mine car roller coaster ride to making it through a nuclear blast because you were tucked inside a old style fridge, these are the crazy antics that make Indiana Jones, Indiana Jones. Harrison has gone public before and this time there is no difference:

"Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and myself are agreed on what the fifth adventure will concern, and George is actively at work."

Hopefully they also agreed that Lucas will only write the fifth film. Which is all he should have ever done. Lucas is a Writer, that's it. Lucas is no director, which is why I believe the second trilogy of Star Wars films were not as good as they could have been. Anyway that's an entire different article. In short, Lucas, stay with what your good at!

obviously spielberg will direct. it will always be that way for these movies. i didnt mind the last one so much. thought it was good enough to keep going. i think shia was the big problem with that one.

Man he should've been doing these in the 90's, all the power to him, but like RAMBO it should've been done back then!! Still cant wait heh!

P.S. No SHIA, lose him, im sure he's got TRANSFORMERS 3 an stuff to do, lose jnr lol.

BTW, @Jman, thanks for putting up the temple of doom picture. That was always my favorite Indy movie although Raiders was the best

i think raiders of the lost ark is one of the best films ever made, it has the right amount of everything that makes a perfect film. if they wanna keep making them. just give me the dates and ill book my tickets now!!

spilox@ you say no more aliens, but the holy grail that gives people ever lasting life, an indian temple with 3 magical stones and a guy who takes out your heart while your still alive, and the lost ark with light beams and ghost that come out and kill everyone with thier eyes open are ok?

blank@ this movie had archeology. lost temples, hidden clues, and some theorist have those skulls being really old as well. maybe you didnt like the alien ending, but is no more unbelievable or unrealistic than the themes of the previous movies. i dont understand why so many people hate the concept. maybe the execution, but not the concept.

What's with Hollywood throwing bastard children at the heroes??? But I digress. I don't think Shia was the biggest problem with Indiana Jones KotCS. It was the big flying saucer in the end.

@superdog - Actually, I agree. The basis was great. It wasn't executed as well as it could have been. But, it was just another Indy. That was the problem. Most people, I think, wanted it to be the second coming of Indy, but instead it was just another Indy flick. Which is not a problem, just the hype was so high.

Why not they jumped the shark and made a crap movie. Only place to go from here is up. Why don't they do a Han Solo New Republic movie. Lucas write it, don't direct it. Lucas sucks as a director.

I love the Alien Twist ! It is sooo releveant to our times. and the whole 2012 Mayan referrences .... Love it!

Oh hell yeah, I'm in! Indy RULES! But I also agree, they need to get back to the archaeology aspect and try and uncover something crazy like the Fountain of Youth or something.

Parker and Stone had it correct. The last Indiana Jones was Speilberg and Lucas butt-raping Harrison Ford on a pinball machine. GIVE IT UP!!!

@Texasboy lol... yeah he can find Jimmy Hoffa too.

@GUNSMITH I like your idea, though I think The Mummy series kind of did it. Or that was Shangra La. But yeah Fountain of Youth Indy style would rule. I liked how they used the Nazca lines in 4 - probly could've done more with them, but still was great. They could incorporate some elements like that. Like the missing colony of Jamestown. Could also do something with crop circles, but that would probably end up being alien-related.

(by the way I have a theory on what crop circles are that is off topic, but most of you guys like this stuff. I think they're made by templated lasers, either by aliens from far away - you could do it from light years away if you had a REALLY powerful laser, or it's our government screwing around. But anyway - back on topic).

Could do Stone Hinge.

If you listen to the commentary on 4, even Spielberg didn't want to do anymore aliens. Then Lucas talked him into "interdimensional beings" (that's what those crystal skull guys are supposed to be), and when Spielberg started talking about their design with Lucas, he was like "what'll they look like?". And lucas was like "aliens"... lol what an ass, but I guess you get to do that if you're George Lucas. And I agree, don't direct ever again Lucas! just write and write and write...

I think Shia needs to go too. Karen Allen is fine in my opinion, but we definitely need something better to look at also. Should bring over Diane Kruger from National Treasure - god I thought she was hot in Basterds, maybe that was just me - well she's stacked, but the "giant face" had a stunning face - most gorgeous woman I've seen in years I felt, face wise, though she had a slight build.

Hey I got it, maybe they'll bring in Megan Fox as Shia's girl =P "Indiana Jone's and the giant thumbs". And they discover the giant heads on Easter Island are modeled after Megan's thumbs... lol now I don't even know what I'm saying anymore.

Hey they did it with star wars, do it with indy...three great movies and then 3 terrible ones. This is ridiculous. Love Han, but he doesn't want another Indy...he wants more spotlight.

I would like to see another Indy movie but this time they won't have the warm glow of nostalgia to gloss over the cracks. Next time they really will have to move forward whilst retaining the spirit of the original. Can the Alien nonsense & leave Lucas on the ranch. Storylines could include King Arthur/Excalibur/Merlin, Atlantis, Turin Shroud, Noah's Ark Global Warming story, Sasquatch, Loch Ness, Modern Day Nazi's creating the Antichrist, The Apocalypse End of Days scenario, Vatican suppression of the 'truth ', Darwinism & the Missing Link, Loch Ness, Dracula, the cloning of Christ . . . anything but effing Aliens!

:) OK some have more potential than others but I'm just illustrating that Lucas' Alien angle took it to a level of cliched fantasy that nearly anything goes . . . .
Keep it real with a undercurrent of the supernatural.

The Fountain of Youth would be a great quest if it was located deep in the Everglades. You need a good exotic setting for the main action, and a swamp would probably give Lucas some interesting things to work with.

I like the idea of the Shroud of Turin as an object to locate. Maybe it has healing powers and the Russians want to find it, isolate the source of the power, and synthesize it to make their army unbeatable. A twist on the Arthurian legend would also be pretty cool.

Fountain of youth would be good. Russians would want thier hands on that for sure. The religious stuff has been done, and so has scifi stuff now, so something similiar in tone but diffirent would be perfect. Hence fountain of youth, maybe a king Arthur concept. Those could work.

I would like to see either the Arthurian Legend or a Nazi resurrection cult piecing religious artifacts together to bring forth the antichrist. Russians don't work for me as the bad guys, sub any religious extremist. Save fountain of youth for Indy 6 when he morphs in to a 25 year old and Harrison takes a final bow.
