This is stupid cool. This is cooler then anything you have actually ever seen in your life, but DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! A guy by the name of Everett Bradford has constructed a flame throwing device to mimic Pyro's mutant power. I know, that's crazy right? But it is also reality.

.
Many thanks to MTV for providing the video!

What do you think the next device to be made will be?

Bamf7 - 11/5/2009, 8:17 AM
NICE! That's cool. If only someone could replicate Iron Man...haha.
Upupandaway - 11/5/2009, 8:17 AM
This is cool, but all I can think of is the smell of singed eyebrows. Just don't put your hands in your pocket I guess.
Whargoul - 11/5/2009, 8:19 AM
people get quite creative when it comes to bringing comic books to life
KentAllard - 11/5/2009, 8:24 AM
Pretty Kool! I kept waiting for him to accidently lite something on fire, I guess that's the pessimist in me...
StephenStrange - 11/5/2009, 8:30 AM

Betty - 11/5/2009, 8:32 AM

GUNSMITH - 11/5/2009, 8:57 AM
YOU NEED TO MAKE ONE FOR EACH HAND, AND ON TOP OF THAT, FIREPROOF AND HEAT PROOF GLOVES, NOT ONLY FOR LOOKS, BUT FOR PROTECTION..."HEY WHY IS YOUR HAND SO RED?""I WAS PLAYING WITH MY PROMETHEUS"..."HMMM...PROMETHEUS IS A NEW WORD FOR _____"..
GUNSMITH - 11/5/2009, 8:59 AM
I WOULD HAVE HAD THE FLAMES COME FROM MY FINGERTIPS, WAY BETTER CONTROL.
GUNSMITH - 11/5/2009, 9:00 AM
JOSH-YEAH, WE CAN WATCH HIM FREEZE FLIES
FAD - 11/5/2009, 9:12 AM

JoshWilding - 11/5/2009, 9:17 AM
GUNSMITH: Im guessing that the guy will eventually end up setting himself or his house on fire so he probably wont get around to making anything else, lol! :)
loganoneil - 11/5/2009, 9:24 AM
I agree with Tea's idea to get a hooker for this poor sap - I'll chip in a 50 cents...
jman1977 - 11/5/2009, 9:31 AM
LOL, the weird thing here is, the general public is starting to make what hollywood and the comics has only imagined to work. So the next logical question is "What is next?" In the 80's and even 90's the above contraption was only in the movies, now it is a reality. What do you guys see as being the next phase in bringing the movies to reality? Wolvies claws, spidey's web shooters? Hey who knows. Nods to the Iceman idea, that would be cool to freeze a few flies and whatever else you wanted to. Dare to dream people, dare to dream.
Tobuttica - 11/5/2009, 9:46 AM
Haven't wee seen this before? Still Awesome though!
StephenStrange - 11/5/2009, 10:02 AM
@FAD: You volunteering? lol
Joe6Pack74 - 11/5/2009, 10:09 AM
There is something else for me to build.
Whispers68 - 11/5/2009, 10:09 AM
Wow. I wrote this article around 3am this morning and woke up to see that it was deleted. And now at 12pm, the article appears in the form of an editor's article

I'm confused here
Whispers68 - 11/5/2009, 10:34 AM

@necrosage

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but my previous comment isn't that serious. It's a question I'm asking because after a few people commented mine, I went to sleep and then checked my phone's browser and now the article isn't on the site any longer but a similar article is. I love the site but I was curious as to why mine was deleted to then see several hours later a similar article.
cris1986 - 11/5/2009, 10:43 AM
That is sweet i want one at least he has a degree i found someone that made wolvey claws on desktop key board tracks that fit his forearm pretty BA. and another guy is making them and put a patent in.
Set2Fallfirst - 11/5/2009, 10:49 AM
@whispers and Jman I could swear I was up around 4:00 and I commented on whispers promtheous fire thing He had pictures and a youtube video. It was actually pretty awesome. whats up?
batfan39 - 11/5/2009, 10:52 AM
I so he can't make a dragon or anything else made of fire then... like pyro, I guess, but kind of stupid and dangerous
NightShade - 11/5/2009, 11:15 AM
Lets see everyone try that themselves..A for effort...those who critisize..your poor and unfortunate...creativity always breeds jealousy..lol
Saraeth - 11/5/2009, 11:18 AM
Wicked nice. I want to know, where the hell is the webslinger at?
Set2Fallfirst - 11/5/2009, 11:27 AM
no thats pretty awesome takes a lot to do something like that
Runefyst - 11/5/2009, 11:31 AM
Yeah, I've been following this guy on youtube. This is his 3rd or 4th design for this system, seems to take more work than I would've thought. And he does have an engineering degree & work with pyrotechnics so I would imagine he knows what he's doing.

Overall, pretty cool. He should design web-shooters next. :)
InFamouslyCool - 11/5/2009, 11:41 AM
i remember when i was a kid i used to copy Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers and build shit, but damn.. nothing like that. ahahahahaha..
thwhtGuardian - 11/5/2009, 11:42 AM
I remember seeing something like this a few months ago, it still seems a bit strange, I mean I thought I had a lot of time on my hands. But if he's actually a pro and this is just part of his job kudos to him.
Saraeth - 11/5/2009, 12:10 PM
Wicked nice. I want to know, where the hell is the webslinger at?
KeepItReal - 11/5/2009, 12:11 PM
if he can do this while killing time... and for shits and giggles... imagine what he can do if he took things seriously!
Whispers68 - 11/5/2009, 12:17 PM
@necrosage

Perhaps you created your own perception from written text but I never "took over" posts. What I did was pose a rather simple question without being overbearing, rude or bitter. One comment in an article is considered "taking over?"
I've followed the rules as you put it and my question once again isn't that serious as you're making it now with your responses. My initial reaction was to write a comment in the article. I'll write something to the main editor in a bit

Always remember this, questions are meant to bring clarification. If my question "bothered" you, why respond to it? Nonetheless, good post by Jman. The device is awesome
Whispers68 - 11/5/2009, 12:20 PM
Let's end this communication between you and I about what I posted and get back to the device.

I'm not a fan of internet back-and-forth...
So how about those Yankees?
KeepItReal - 11/5/2009, 12:24 PM
Yankees!!!! (I take it they won? cuz I was supposed to finish watching it for my dau and I feel asleep =)
LEEE777 - 11/5/2009, 12:44 PM

Thats cool!!
Whispers68 - 11/5/2009, 12:47 PM
@keepitreal

Yeah...they took the win. The parade in the city will be like pandemonium. Are you a Yankees fan?
My girlfriend is and she's been into this series more than I've ever seen before...she didn't show this enthusiasm for my Steelers when we had a Superbowl party last year at a friend's house. I bet she'll somehow skip school and make an excuse to the lead doctor during the parade as to why she can't make it to work.
KeepItReal - 11/5/2009, 1:02 PM
YES!!! HUGE FAN! have no choice! the whole family is even my son. My dau is begging for me to take her to the parade! haha its about an hour away for us. Maybe I will surprise her and get her from school early so we can go. idk. when they were watching the games omg! it gets so loud in here. I swear the neighbors can hear. GO YANKEES! (sorry about that!)
KeepItReal - 11/5/2009, 1:08 PM
necro: NYC'er over here too! =)
gtrman - 11/5/2009, 1:25 PM
I hope this guy never sees any Bionic Man shows...
dav1dca1n - 11/5/2009, 1:31 PM
"A butain and Propane combination"...one little accident and this kids gonna do some serious damage.
Whispers68 - 11/5/2009, 1:38 PM
@keepitreal

How old is your daughter?
My girlfriend is now saying she can't make it. LoL. She seems so down about it.

But it sucked for me last year since there were perhaps 12 present at the gathering. Everyone was against my Steelers except my girlfriend and my friend's mom. Every single olay we made an error on, each person took turns throwing it in my face...but we won.

KeepItReal - 11/5/2009, 1:47 PM
whispers: my dau's 13. very young but LOVES the Yankees so much. She is bummed cuz she has a test tomorrow so I wont take her out of school now. Your gf is not alone it seems in her disappointment.

thats what I dislike about the sport... when they throw it in your face when an error is made for an opposing team. everyone makes mistakes ya know. People are fantatics (cough, cough husband and daughter! haha)
Tobuttica - 11/5/2009, 2:06 PM
I'm still waiting for the Mariners to stop sucking ass. Had a few good years and ready to get back to it. As much as I don't like the Yankees, got to give them props. Way to go Yanks!
Banner123 - 11/5/2009, 2:20 PM
Cool, but this is a seriously dumb idea. Someone should probably tell this kid not to do his testing in an enclosed room like the one that he's in
Whispers68 - 11/5/2009, 3:37 PM
@keepitreal
You're lucky my friend. When we eventually get married and have children, she knows when it comes to the NFL...the family's rooting for the Steelers.
I was really proud as she sat next to me being there grasping my arm and supporting me, although she didn't like football...she was lending her guy support when all the other girlfriends in the room were rooting with their boyfriends against me. She now enjoys it but sometimes pokes fun at the idea my team will lose their next game. It's something she does whenever she wants my attention.

But I wish your daughter luck on her exam. Definitely agree that taking her out isn't a good idea. I just graduated from college so I can imagine if I had a test and my team won...I would take my test of course but would feel weird not being able to celebrate.
I - 11/5/2009, 4:05 PM
lol at :53 he burns his hand with fire, then conveniently cuts the camera off. anyone else notice that!
KeepItReal - 11/5/2009, 4:06 PM
HAHAHA! THATS what my husband said! I used to root for the mets... and he for the Yankees... but when the kids came along... the mets fazed out and he has the whole family rooting for the Yankees. Im more for if they're from ny.. I got their back. but when it was mets vs yankees... i was forced to pick a side and my husband and daughter we're gonna kick me out! lol... but I support them. They get so loud though and woe to anyone who is sitting next to them on an out or something.

its so sweet of your girlfriend to lend her support. I used to lend mine quietly... (tehehe) I would take advantage a game was on... have all he needs... chips, beer, salsa etc... and id have my book... good times... good times... when I would say the jets are gonna loose i would get the evil eye. haha... best wishes to you when you start your family. remember... take LOTS of pictures because they grow soooo fast.

yeah... my daughter is bummed. She now says its just a "quiz" and no big deal. (NOT!) its like I tell her all the time... work hard THEN you play hard. Congratulations on your graduation. =) How exciting. Wish you the best on your future endeavors. =)
KeepItReal - 11/5/2009, 4:25 PM
awwwww

... so sorry... I figured since you have a wifey it was ok... tehehehe.... still got nothing love for you <3
