"Alain Robert, the French free climber dubbed "Spider-Man" for his gravity-defying feats, was arrested on the roof of a Sydney, Australia, skyscraper today after he scaled the 57-story building using just his bare hands and a bag of chalk dust.

While the comic book Spider-Man almost always evades the police, his real-world counterpart was nabbed by law enforcers as soon as he reached the summit."

Cool feat Alain, you can sleep it off in Jail! It's crazy with what this guy can do. But just because you can doesn't mean you should. Get a permit or something, go climb Pikes Peak, just make it legit. If that Alain guy bit it without the climb being approved by whoever approves people who climb things, then that's all Alain will be remembered for.

I watched a documentary on that guy before, he's awesome and has got some big balls to do that! I say let him do it!

But he must like getting himself thrown in prison though. I gotta wonder if the publicity is worth it.

This guy has climbed my buildings, and always gets arrested. I think its awesome, and if we wants to do it, he should. He already can climb every normal mountain, why not an urban mountain.

@ SHHH: I saw an episode the other day. It's alright. Some of the people on the show are really disturbing though. Like the dude hammering nails in 2"x4"s with his head. What [frick] is that about...?

You should watch Jyothi Rai who is known as India's Spiderman- He is incredible. Spins around and hangs upside down by his feet while scaling buildings and cliffs. Jyothi has perfected his climbing technique by taking inspiration from monkeys. He is featured on Stan Lee's Superhumans show. recently a french-man asked me something in french when I was indoor-skiing here in the netherlands..... so I said, do you speak dutch.... no he said....I said do you speak german......no he said..... so I said, do you speak english.....no he said... and the motherfakir, really got irratated because I didn't spoke french.....he said something(don't know what but it was unfriendly , because his girlfriend started to laugh).... so I said [frick] YOU!! he said... I don't speak english......so I said...... okay.... [frick]EZ VOUS! lollol you should have seen the guys face. and it really happened!

Yep, It looks like 2 morons trying to communicate. And french people doesn't deserve "falls from the dubai tower and will be splattered beyond recognition" because they are french... Even you doesn't deserve that, even if you are a racist and an ignorant. Just try to remember there are some french persons who speak english, knows how to use a computer, and love american comic books (and that effin' Tintin). By the way this spider guy is pretty cool, and he does'nt hurt anybody doing this, I say let him do what he want, as for the consequences, well, that's his problem.

Yes, this guys life is his to risk, but what about everyone else. You cannot tell me when you have someone climbing a skyscraper, that isn't going to cause car accidents, especially when you have tons of pedestrians standing around watching. How long before someone looking up accidently steps off the curb and smash or someone driving looks up to see what's going on and again smash, either a car or pedestrian. Then you have the fact that what if this guy fell, he could land on someone, land on a moving vehicle, etc. I am all about letting people risk their lives for foolishness, thins out the heards, but come on, you cannot tell me that their are no other possible consequences besides his life at stake. I could go on and on, liability of the building owner, damage liability if he falls, etc., but I think you get the point.

That's nice, but I don't watch soccer on TV, I think the marseillaise is one of ugliest national anthem, and yes maxleresistant is a joke, it sounds funny so I kept it. And I enjoy jokes about french people, I'm proud to own the original version of the Ultimates issue with the joke from captain america (THAT was funny) before they reprint it with "Thats not coward who is written here!" ... really disappointing in my opinion. And really, the more you talk, the more you sound like a real douche, I'm not the one insulting people because of the country they are from, I'm not the one throwing stereotypes to make an argument. You're the one who should read more your comments, maybe you will realize, you are not funny, just an offensive and angry geek spitting on other people. He's been doing it over and over. Arrested over and over. I don't think he cares if he falls and dies while doing it. I mean, you climb that high without any gear but your bare hands, would you think there is LITTLE or NO possibility that you'd fall off and die?

No, my guess is, he'd welcome death already. He loves the publicity and THAT would be the ultimate publicity!
