Apparently Joel Silver has been working on a Lobo script for years. This movie would be the answer Warner Bros is looking for to compete with films such as Hellboy. Someone from Latinoreview.com got to give it a once over and had this to say:

"Dr Strangefist likened LOBO to an alien Snake Plissken. Sounds bad ass!"

Unfortunately that was all that was reported. No plot lines, No lead actor. No other information has been released only that we now know there is in fact a Lobo script that does exist in our part of the Galaxy. I'm sure in do time Lobo will make his presence known on the big screen. Hopefully they stay true to the source and portray Lobo as the bad ass we all know and love.

Bit BABYLON, bit BSG, bit SUPERHERO! You got a winner an that ain't never been done as a series, it gets the SCI-FI/ACTION/&FANTASY crowd! Minotauro - 4/30/2009, 3:55 PM
Lobo? sounds useless...But, "Lobo compared to Snake Plissken idea!" sounds cool. Other than that...Don't make his movie.
Demonwolf - 4/30/2009, 3:55 PM
LEEE777-BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
LEEE777 - 4/30/2009, 4:02 PM
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA : D
RorMachine - 4/30/2009, 4:03 PM
Now this could be a great [frick]in movie! Lobo is a riot. Minotauro have u read any Lobo or just assuming its shit?
shibazz - 4/30/2009, 4:03 PM
O HELL YES!!!!!!!!! MinoTauro, yer an idiot. Have you even seen the Justice League toon with Lobo in it? Lobo is way cooler than Plisken and Plisken was flippin cool.
LEEE777 - 4/30/2009, 4:16 PM
LOBO would be sweet in a SUPERMAN movie!!! Would nearly be as good a fight as DOOMSDAY!!! But the MAIN MAN can easily have his own solo movie first!!! Heck, if GAMBIT can have a solo lol, LOBO FRAGGING can!!! ; )
ThommyRazor - 4/30/2009, 4:26 PM
Lobo could easily hold a series of movies on his own merit. The Moore/Giffin/Bisley books are solid gold, and could translate very well to big screen.
On a side note, get on youtube and search lobo paramilitary special. There's a short movie based on the book, with Andrew Bryniarsky(sp?) as Lobo. He's the fella that played Leatherface in the newer Texas Chainsaws.
Cheers, all!
loganoneil - 4/30/2009, 4:43 PM
They just gotta' do 'Lobo's Back'... they just gotta' (maybe with some 'Para-Military Christmas Special' sprinkles on top...)!
adamant877 - 4/30/2009, 4:52 PM
loganoniel: I LOOOOOVED the "Para-Military Christmas Special"! Now, THAT's how you do Lobo! Even though it was a cheap, indie, no budget college movie. I laughed my ass off, and it was a good likeness of the character.
Donald Gibb as Lobo or Go Fragg yourself, Meat-Puppet!
shibazz - 4/30/2009, 5:12 PM
I vot Lobo's Back too. Thanks TommyRazor for the youtube thing.... How tha hell did i miss that!? that was so freakin sweet. Thank you RommyRazor, thank you
BLADE4040 - 4/30/2009, 5:32 PM
Yea I've mention this in past post LOBO V.S. SUPERMAN...Undertaker would make a good Lobo like someone mention earlier. Lobo is one of those characters where the acting doesnt have to be that great he just needs to come across as a real pain in the you know what be aggressive and LARGE. Rated R all the way with lots of fighting ,drinking, semi nude women, and foul language I think that pretty much sums up Lobo. The GUY KILLED A WHOLE PLANET OF HIS OWN PEOPLE BEFORE HE HIT THE AGE OF 20 HE'S A PSYCHO.
BillyBlack - 4/30/2009, 5:49 PM
Yo shibazz

Who did the voice for Lobo in the Superman/JL cartoons? for some reason I thought is was Jesse "the body" Ventura. Anyway, that was some good stuff there. Lobo wouldn't be a bad idea. Hell anything but straight up Luthor at this point I'm on board with.
Spock - 4/30/2009, 5:52 PM
Some of my other online friends @ www.mania.com suggested Andrew Bryniarski for LoBo. But I would pick Kevin Tod Smith from Hercules the Legenddary he played Ares God of War. But sadly he passed away...
loganoneil - 4/30/2009, 6:48 PM
You guys realize that in order to do this movie RIGHT, the thing's gonna' HAVE to get an 'R' rating... I mean seriously, could ANYONE picture (or even want to see) 'PG-13' Lobo?! That'd be like watching porn, edited for regular TV (all 5 minutes of it)...
TheSoulEater - 4/30/2009, 7:15 PM
Use martin short
LightParade - 4/30/2009, 7:37 PM
Just take Undertaker and I'm watching it!
CaptMarvelfan - 4/30/2009, 7:52 PM
As a DC Fan I can't Stand Lobo. I could see him appearing in Superman or even showing up on Smallville. His own movie would be as exciting as the Blair Witch Project and make about as much sence..
FalconX2 - 4/30/2009, 8:33 PM
"Who did the voice for Lobo in the Superman/JL cartoons?"

Brad Garret. Same guy that played Robert on Everybody Loves Raymond.

"I'm the last Czarnian! Fragged the rest of the planet for my high school science project... Gave myself an A..."

I freaking love Lobo...

Zombie already has a Loboish character. He's called "The Nail." He's a zombie fighting professional wrestler. Supposedly there is a movie in the works based on him.
loganaspatch - 4/30/2009, 8:36 PM
well im a marvel and i would like to see Lobo his pretty much the only character in the DC universe with actual personalty lol

he can defintly carry his own movie..i would liken it to a space balls type movie but not as goofy?

and how is batman grabbing lobo up like that lobo would break him in TWO!
dellamorte1872 - 4/30/2009, 8:41 PM
wont happen! too adult not kid friendly y'all. but the hellboy comment gave me a great casting idea...pearlman as LOBO! but it will never ever happen
Betty - 4/30/2009, 8:52 PM
I would really like this to be a cartoon. Bizley style! I would give my left penis!

loganoneil--They just gotta' do 'Lobo's Back'... they just gotta' (maybe with some 'Para-Military Christmas Special' sprinkles on top...)! LOL!
dbzfan - 4/30/2009, 8:59 PM
YES, YES, YES!!! I have been wanting this for a very long time and they will finally deliver the movie no child will be able to see. I can't frigging wait
Niem8211 - 4/30/2009, 9:42 PM
Let it be so..... and WB will prob produce it.... F$#@ YA!!! Lobo is the shitttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!
Spock - 4/30/2009, 10:19 PM
I still say Kevin Tod Smith could have made a great LoBo. This would have to be @ least R rating. Between DeadPool and LoBo I don't know who is more funny? Now that would make a great Blog here, any Takers?
Lobo - 5/1/2009, 12:05 AM
Now here is some good news. I would like to see them make it very dark and twisted and give him that sense of humor that only the joker could truly love. He is a force to be reckoned with. Heaven dont want him and hell kicked him out. He can heal even better then the wolverine can. If they do this story line right, it could be epic. I just would like to see one movie just stick to the source. Even if they dont tie it in with superman just yet, they could leave the door open for Superman and Batman. There are so many ways they could do this movie. I just hope that it is more like the dark night then superman returns. I like a little twisted sense of humor.
jordomac - 5/1/2009, 12:18 AM
BATISTA!!! BAISTA!!! BATISTA!!! If anyone is perfect for this role its the rediculously musculare and badass Dave Batista from WWE! please oh please let it be him.
SoulAllFlush - 5/1/2009, 3:40 AM
haha yeah, like DC will actually make a movie. I'll believe it when i see it
TheJester - 5/1/2009, 5:36 AM
@ SirPrze: LOL I doubt Kim could beef up enough to play Lobo, He's a freakin midget. Just dip into the Norwegian Black Metal pool!
LastSon1027 - 5/1/2009, 5:55 AM
I would be quite angry if these bastiches screwed this up!
Shaman - 5/1/2009, 6:56 AM
Actually, being a huge fan of Lobo, i could jiz all over the place watching him on the big screen. Realistically though? For it to "make money" (you know, the purpose of making movies) it would have to be PG 13. Or else, we'll just get another WARZONE on our hands(which only lasted 3 weeks at the box office... pathetic). Correct me if i'm wrong, but "alien blood and guts" doesn't count as "gore" in the movie industry... right???

So i say, to introduce him properly to the "average movie goers", he'd have to be a part of the next Superman film. The opening would be on a interstellar base somewhere in space, where he enters a bar, get's into a fight, kills every fraggin alien extremely gore-ishly and then someone pays him to take down Brainiac. He learns that Brainy is headed for Earth and bikes off to get him. Through some ruccus in an earth-bar, Superman intervienes and they give us a battle worthy of mention. After that they are struck with shock as Brainy makes his move to take over the planet. Both of them rush to kick his ass and that's the movie!!! THEN... he gets his R rated solo film :))

If they make the movie, it WILL look like a copycat of HELLBOY which i'm fine with BTW. And aside from Pearlman, there are just no Jox with acting talent to portray him. And since he is already Hellboy, i doubt he'd do it. Now... wrestlers suck and should never be brought to film unless they undergo intensive acting classes for years prior. So that doesn't leave us with many prospects. THE BEST ONE... i'll have to agree with adamant877... is Donald Gibb. If you watch your old copy of "Bloodsport", he was as close to a "humanised" Lobo as we've never been shown before. He'd have to beef up, loose a fragg load of fraggin weight... and then maybe... just maybe... Oh and let's not forget the acting classes for him too. Maybe not as intensive as a wrestler would need but still.
LEEE777 - 5/1/2009, 7:19 AM
Jiz ewwww lol!!! No we wouldn't get another WAR ZONE on our hands, if it was R-RATED and anyway only MARVEL have said they ain't gonna be making R!!!! WARZONE failed because it was crappolla and im a big PUNISHER fan! It was the story, the action was great and why the crap do you get the first appearance of a classic like JIGSAW and kill him off in the same movie, an i wont even go there with MICROCHIP?????? Also the (lame) Punisher one and a half man Task force!!! LOBO will ROCK!!! How about an appearance of GUY GARNER in GREEN LANTERN movie! (getting his ring at the end). Then a big fight in space and Earth with LOBO in the LOBO movie!!! An maybe we can see more of the DC UNIVERSE on the big screen,(SPACE that is). Even maybe a lil taster of a few seconds of DOOMSDAY on a planet ready for the next SUPES movie!!! Yeah im dreaming lol ; )
Bandrews1 - 5/1/2009, 8:34 AM
I honestly can't see a "Lobo" being made. If it does I hope it doesn't get [frick]ed up.
