The Conan Director Rumors Are Getting Deep

Who is on the A list to Direct the new Conan movie? Find out here!
We know Ratner is out as Director. Which is welcome news. Hey, if I turned in two or three years of crappy work, I would be out of a job as well. So, who is next in line?

Christophe Gans directed Brotherhood of the Wolf, and Silent Hill.
Neil Marshall has directed Doomsday, and Centurion.

Out of these two guys I would like to see Neil Marshall get the Directing gig. From the above mentioned films Neil is better suited to give us a bloody, barbaric tale that is true to Conan and the legion of fans that follow him.

If Lionsgate picks Marshall then the August start date is probably not going to happen due to Mr. Marshall being wrapped up in Centurion post-production for the next few months.

Hopefully Lionsgate comes out with a definitive answer soon. The fans want a new Conan movie, they do not want this property to be stuck in development hell.

Out of the movies mentioned, Brotherhood of the wolf is the best,,but Neil marshal did make the Descent which is class..either of those 2 should do a good job

This movie is gonna take a while. It's been a year or so since any real progress has happened on this movie.

I've seen Conan movie posters at the theaters for quite sometime and not one single trailer or teaser has surfaced.

Brotherhood of the Wolf is a great movie.

This article seems to be thrown together for the sake of creating an article. Nothing new here just another filler article.

Lionsgate isn't bad? LEEE777 - you just love to blame random studios for sh!t don't you? It's not all the studio's fault - all the time. Which Punisher are you talking about? The newest one? Cause I'd blame the sh!t director who PMS'd this thing right from the start - or how about the sh!t acting?

cause the studio threw money at those tards - they might not have advertised it worth a sh!t - but can you blame them? why waste more money and time?

I thought it was an ok movie - but the previous one with Jane was better and that thing looked G rated compared to Warzone.

Its silly to see a studio name and think a movie is automatically going to suck! Some studios medal more than others, some are happy to leave the director to their own devices but if a movie is out and out rotten its usually down to the director.

I'm with Keven, Punisher: War Zone director/PMS/POS Lexi Alexander. She didn't give a sh!t and this movie suffered. The failure of this movie was not Lionsgate's fault.

I agree with Betty on this one, Ridley Scott would make an AMAZING Conan! That man knows the meaning of the word "EPIC"!

And to risk going on a tangent... Did anyone but me find it kind of odd that one of the worse apsects of the Punisher: War Zone movie (IMHO) was the fight coreography, and the director was supposedly a professional stunt coordinator? That's it. That's all I really had to say about that. Oh yeah... Brotherhood of the Wolf WAS the $#it! lol

To me the worst aspects of the Punisher WZ were Ray Stevenson's face and also the rest of the movie.

Rock has to big of a mouth to play Conan. It will need to be someone who can be commanding without talking. Conan is actually quiet most of the time unless he needs/wants something. Plus Rock is a pretty boy, same problem with Arnie's Conan. Conan was a Barbarian, living in the harsh wilderness, and thrived on battle. He was beaten, scarred, and had a worn body, despite his physique.

HHH would actually have the body in this case, if we are going with wrestlers. HHH just has terrible body language. He looks like he is always constipated. It has to be someone who looks relaxed, yet ready to strike if need be, and commanding though quiet.

Hence the problem with so much of Robert Howard's characters, they are walking contradictions, but that is one of the aspects that makes them so awesome!

I would have much rather seen Ratner direct. Everyone calls this guy a franchise killer but honestly he made an X-Men movie where there was tons of action, I don't see a problem plus after the shit storyline Singer left him to work with I would say he did wonders. I mean it could be worse he could have made Wolverine a huge puss who spied on his ex who he had a kid with. OH Wait that's what Singer did to Superman my mistake.

just watched doomsday. i have had turds with more depth and substance. If all you yanks wanna see a decent marshall movie check out dog soldiers, oh, and that was passable for a low budget piece of shit. we are all geeks with specific tastes and expectations, and as a result
none will be satisfied. I just wish geography wouldnt disenable us from consructive honest discustion.
