Dan Akroyd Lets Go Some Ghostbusters 3 News

Dan "The Man" Akroyd wants to incorporate a new Ghostbusters team made up of women?
When asked about the premise of the next installment of the classic 80's franchise Ghostbusters, Dan Akroyd believes that the movie will be moving along soon but he has learned "at any second everything could blow up." The plot for Ghostbusters 3 is still being hammered out but Dan is hoping for a five member team with several female members. Dan states "I'd like it to be a passing-of-the-torch movie. Let's revisit the old characters briefly and happily and have them there as family but let's pass it on to a new generation."

Who you might ask would Dan consider being the female members of the Next Gen Ghostbusters squad? Mr Akroyd would like to see Alyssa Milano and Eliza Dushku. Dan States "I think they're amazing." "And I'm excited about the whole idea of getting this done.".

Alyssa Milano has done some voice work for the new Ghostbusters video game, so that one kinda fits. I don't know where Dan got the Eliza Dushku idea. I think Alyssa would be cool to watch in Ghostbusters 3. It would be funny to see how Venkman reacts to her, him being old and her being the new hottie on the block. But no more females epically Eliza Dushku. That makes me not want to see the movie. Hopefully Vince Vaughn and maybe Jack Black will be included. Time will tell. As far as right now the details are being thought out, nothing is final until we get a studio confirmation.

see how STUPID that is if you don't even have a comment!!!

i would say it's retarded, but i wouldn't want to insult the mentally handicapped.

GET A LIFE!!!!!
Watcher47 - 5/20/2009, 12:29 PM
Nice to hear they're in the works for a third installment. Not really sure how I feel about Alyssa Milano, I suppose could be fine. Jack Black would be awesome to have, Danny McBride, John C. Reilly, or would also be awesome Nick Swardson.
Stumblin - 5/20/2009, 12:31 PM
No, please no more Jack Black..iv just had enough of his bug eyed "humor" to last me a life time, this cast needs much more subtle comedic talents. I would agree with Vince Vaughn, maybe Paul Rudd. Hell id take Seth Rogen over Black!
RorMachine - 5/20/2009, 12:37 PM
Can we get the ban hammer on nonstopretard?

Can't wait fo the game to come out. I think it will be a fun game but the controls might be weird.
Smolo - 5/20/2009, 12:39 PM
I'm excited for the potential this movie has, but a little worried over how it will all pan out, especially with the "new" cast... I hope for the best.

Smolo: The game looks really cool, and with the advent of the Wii interactive technology, should make for interesting game play, to say the least!
adamant877 - 5/20/2009, 12:46 PM
John C. Reilly and Danny McBride would definitely be a great addition. Throw in Simon Pegg and some others and we have a great revival of a great franchise. Dammit now I really want to watch the movies right now. I can't wait for the video game. It ranks with Bioshock 2 and Batman: Arkham Asylum as far as anticipation.

@Rorschach01: OHHHH! Paul Rudd!!! Good one!!! You know, after seeing 'Role Models' Sean William Scott would be pretty good as Venkmans apprentice, though Vince Vaughn would do it better I think.
TheMyth - 5/20/2009, 12:47 PM
this news is awful. I don't like any of the ideas Akroyd is throwing around. it's too bad the Apatow cast neevr went through - that could have been awesome.

Dushku? she's retarded am i wrong?
Keven - 5/20/2009, 12:47 PM
I'll believe it, when i see it!!! How many years now we've heard about Ghostbusters 3? We've heard it all before!

I think id rather a live tv series ; D
LEEE777 - 5/20/2009, 12:54 PM
I agree with Rorschach, but please no Rogan. We all get it Seth; you smoke pot. That kind of humor can only last for so long.

Keven hates everything.
bioBROLY - 5/20/2009, 1:01 PM
HONESTLLY YOU NEED TO GET TOP COMEDIANS IF YOU WANNA MAKE THIS WORK, YEAH SHOW THE OLD TEAM AND PASS THE TORCH TO A NEW SET OF TODAYS COOLEST COMEDIANS-JACK BLACK-BEN STILLER-CHRIS ROCK-GET SOME POWER HITTERS...
GUNSMITH - 5/20/2009, 1:01 PM
JACK BLACK-BEN STILLER-CHRIS ROCK-GET SOME POWER HITTERS... Yeah, they could do that, or they could get people that are funny!..ah no Chris Rock is good..but only at stand up. Stiller just annoys me these days. I dont know, im fickle when it comes to comedic actors. If they play the same part one too many times i hate them.
RorMachine - 5/20/2009, 1:08 PM
I hate this idea of a female member. They will probably bring in a sexual aspect into ghostbusters.. which yes was there originally but not as far as they will probably take it now. I want to see the lonely bachelors that the original ghostbusters were. I don't want to see sexual tension between two characters. I want to see the ghostbusters. Keep women out of this movie unless they are going to be like the next Danna Barret. Or else it will just be made into a love story like the following movies that did not need the female aspect:
1) Iron Man- a good movie but did not need a love story yet.
2) Spiderman- the entire story revolved around Mary and Pete the entire movie.
3) Transformers- I'm sick and tired of seeing Megan Fox and Shia La Barf dance around it ruined the first one.. I just wanted to see the robots.
4) Daredevil- Without Elektra this movie would have been way better.. Although it is still one of my favorites.
5) Blade 1: he did not need to save that woman we could have dealt without that.
6) Blade 2: we could have done without the love story between him and the vampire.
7) Indiana Jones Kingdom of the crystal skull: I don't want to see Indy in love.

Over and over again i learn that having potential romance in a movie takes over the entire movie. It makes it less about what it should be and more about the love. Don't get me wrong i like all the movies above. But they could have done without revolving around a love story and I worry that ghostbusters will not learn from the mistakes of others.
werecreature - 5/20/2009, 1:10 PM
Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd.

Hell throw in Romany Malco, also from 40-year-old virgin. I think they were great together.
TucsonRican - 5/20/2009, 1:11 PM
Vince Vaughn, Danny McBride, (Kenny Powers from East Bound and Down) Michael Cera, Ryan Reynolds and Sean William Scott.

Something along those lines could be funny. Maybe even Jason Segal, Artie Lange or Paul Rudd.
DarkAvengers - 5/20/2009, 1:14 PM
Vince Vaughn was born to be in Ghostbusters along with Owen Wilson I would also love to see John C Reily in it. This movie has some great potential if they get the right players.
LastSon1027 - 5/20/2009, 1:24 PM
Sean William Scott is Satan. A squinty eyed, squeaky voiced beelzebub! Jason Segal is cool, Michael Cera..maybe, if he changed his rabbit in the headlights routine. Ryan Reynolds could work.

How about HHH and Tom Welling!
RorMachine - 5/20/2009, 1:26 PM
Sigourney is signed up also....

vonstallin - 5/20/2009, 1:35 PM
I would like to see Michael Weatherly and Sean Murray
Supermike - 5/20/2009, 1:42 PM
I tell ya how I feel about Alyssa Milano, with my freaking hands, tongue and meat-stick.
TheJester - 5/20/2009, 1:54 PM
i'm all for michael cera playing a grown Oscar. lets not forget that baby from GB2 would be in his 20's in this movie!
OhioJones - 5/20/2009, 2:03 PM
Man, I wanna be excited about this, but I'll have to see it to beleive it. The Ghostbusters movies are two of my all time favorite films.
longbowhunter - 5/20/2009, 2:04 PM
There's a lot of actors that would be a good choice for this movie. Personnally I wouldn't mind seeing the following:
Vince Vaughn
Steve Carrell
Paul Rudd
Ryan Renolds
Justin Long

Actors I DO NOT want to see in this movie:
Jack Black
Will Ferrell
John C. Reilly

Don't get me wrong, I think those guys are hilarious. I just think they would feel out of place in this movie.
BmanHall - 5/20/2009, 2:15 PM
i don't hate everything.

but how can one like Dushku? that chick is 200% tard.
Keven - 5/20/2009, 2:22 PM
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/herocomplex/2008/11/hollywood-back.html

Some of these may be outdated... But still, interesting list of possible future projects/revivals/sequels/remakes.

Poor ol' Dushku. I'd take her over Alyssa. I base that on liking Dollhouse and not liking Charmed. A friend has joked that Akyroyd plans on calling it Ghost "Bust"ers and casting Scarlett Johansen alongside Alyssa. This seems plausible.
Coats - 5/20/2009, 2:42 PM
Here's my pics for the NEW Ghostbusters incarnation:

Vince Vaughn
Paul Rudd
Dave Chapelle
Jonah Hill
Sarah Silverman
adamant877 - 5/20/2009, 2:59 PM
THEY SHOULD JUST GO WITH BEN STILLER, OWEN WILSON, VINVE VAUGHN, AND WILL FERRELL. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THAT MOVIE.
Crusader - 5/20/2009, 2:59 PM
what about vince vaughn, justin long, danny mcbride, and kevin hart or possibly mos def?
TalkingCorpse - 5/20/2009, 3:04 PM
Oooooooooh, Mos Def would be even better than Chapelle!
Good pick Talking!
adamant877 - 5/20/2009, 3:06 PM
I WANNA SEE NEW WEAPONS, MAYBE THE PROTOGUN BUT REDESIGNED AS ARMBLASTERS
GUNSMITH - 5/20/2009, 3:12 PM
goddamn, dan akroid is such a [frick]ing jackass.
deathmetalbrian - 5/20/2009, 3:14 PM
mos def is such an underrated actor
TalkingCorpse - 5/20/2009, 3:21 PM
Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Will Farrell, and Martin Lawrence.

...other candidates: Luke Wilson, Seth Rogen, Chapelle (but I seriously doubt he'll do it),
Macksimus - 5/20/2009, 3:29 PM
arm blasters?

lol.
Keven - 5/20/2009, 3:29 PM
The passing of the torch is a really cool idea.

...at least there will be some continuity with the old movies, and it won't just be another remake.
Macksimus - 5/20/2009, 3:32 PM
GREAT CALL on Sarah Silverman!!!!!!!!!!!
DarkAvengers - 5/20/2009, 3:41 PM
GREAT CALL on Sarah Silverman!!!!!!!!!!!
DarkAvengers - 5/20/2009, 3:41 PM
Simpler to list who I do *not want to see in this movie:
Sarah Silverman
Vince Vaughn
Ben Stiller
Jack Black
Chris Rock
Sean William Scott
Megan Fox
Shia LaBoeuf
Will Ferrell
(Hell if either of the last 2 morons are in it, I'll boycott the movie on principle alone)
Wiredwizard - 5/20/2009, 3:53 PM
I like the idea of a spunky, comediane in the role as opposed to some hot little tart with NO comedic talent, and very little to offer besides visual appeal. Sarah's funny as $#it, and she would fit pretty much ANY esnemble cast.

I really like TalkingCorpses' suggestion of Mos Def as well, he has a lot of the same appeal (universal), and has a lot of potential!

Paull Rudd is brilliant in anything, and I could care less about the rest of the cast, except for maybe Jonah Hill... He's great too as additional comic-relief.

Wiredwizard: Any contributing ideas?
adamant877 - 5/20/2009, 4:26 PM
Didn't they already do a "new gen" ghost busters team a few years ago? I don't remember it catching on too well.
Michael Galusick - 5/20/2009, 4:43 PM
It was back in the eighties, and consisted of a few teens and a talking gorilla...
Yeah, you heard me: TALKING GORILLA!
(It didn't catch on.)
adamant877 - 5/20/2009, 5:02 PM
I loved Ghostbusters as a kid the 2nd one not so much
as far as the passing of the torch idea it's really the only good way to go
the original cast is a liitle up there in age, so a younger cast is a must
I'd say Venkman apprentice: Ryan Reynolds I like Vince V. too a liitle too old though
Stantz apprentice: Seth Rogen
Egon apprentice: Paul Rudd
Winston: tough one maybe Dave Chappele? or Damon Wayans JR.?
you need a female lead (seygorny Weaver) I think Alyssa Milano would be good
NO MEGAN FOX! she's hot and all but can't act worth a s&^t

cash4877 - 5/20/2009, 5:43 PM
i say forget everything everyone is saying and pass the torch to Kylie Griffin, Eduardo Rivera, Garrett Miller, and Roland Jackson...the extreme ghostbusters and start a new movie series. EH? who's with me?
droopy1317 - 5/20/2009, 5:44 PM
Here is the new team if theres any justice:

Keanu Reeves
John Cena
Chris Tucker
Heather Graham
Roy "chubby" Brown
Hornswaggle instead of Slimer
RorMachine - 5/20/2009, 7:48 PM
The first two are classics. It would be heartbreaking to see them rehashed with popular comedians of the last last 5 years for the purpose of pure profit. though i do understand that it is the only way to get movies funded these days.
having guys like will Ferrell and Danny McBride (who can be really funny) would just make a mockery of the franchise. Their brand of humor is all wrong. The dark wit & sarcasm is what made Ghostbuster's so great. That being said, the only name i read in all of these posts that fits that criteria is Paul Rudd.

don't even get me started on what a nightmare this movie will be if they cast Ben Stiller
thesteve13 - 5/20/2009, 8:38 PM
Poor Akroyd is just becoming a lonely old man and wants to perv out around some Hollywood ass... Cheers to you Mr Akroyd, before you go completely senile on us...

"It was back in the eighties, and consisted of a few teens and a talking gorilla...
Yeah, you heard me: TALKING GORILLA!"

You are thinking of Filmation's Ghostbusters, which was actually an 80's cartoon homage to a 70's TV show called "The Ghost Busters" (notice the space between Ghost and Busters, and they too had the gorilla).

The actual teenage group of "new" Ghostbusters that Galusick is referring to was a syndicated show back in 97 called "Extreme Ghostbusters." It just never had the financial support to catch on, especially when Cartoon Network started really pumping out shows like Samurai Jack and Powerpuff Girls... People just weren't interested in the GB mantle anymore.
J. "Falcon" Ayers - 5/20/2009, 9:28 PM
i think that they really need a grand-slam story line and special effects for this to work. with the new actors (Jack black, etc.), it would be awesome! and more of the "honey i shrunk the kids" guy. he's funny

Fartman - 5/20/2009, 9:43 PM
@thesteve13: I think you may be right. In regards to Stiller, I definitely agree, and I feel it would suck just as bad to let Jack Black, Will Ferrel, Chris Rock, or Steve Carrel in it. Paul Rudd would have to be a shoe-in. I like the idea of John C. Reilly alot. Think more about his earlier roles before the 'Ricky Bobby' movie. The guy has a lot of talent. Mos Def is also a must have since I saw someone above say it.

In short, Paul Rudd and Mos Def are the to best casting ideas I've seen yet, and I think they're epic!
TheMyth - 5/20/2009, 9:59 PM
i like your ideas for the cast, bvut you guys are going too big with the names, maybe like Paul Rudd (you need the funny wiseguy leader like Venkman),Milano (its cool to have a girl GB,there was one in the Extreme Ghostbusters series, but not a team of females),Jay Barachel or Martin Starr (you need the nerdy guy that knows what he's talking about like Egon),and maybe Mos Def like everyones saying,i already see him in the suit (the black guy is always there)
lilej2 - 5/20/2009, 10:08 PM
i am not too interested in an all female ghostbusters, as we all know thats that is definitely not where the core fan base will look into, you know? oh, and as for choices on a new gb team? well.. it could go a million ways, the talent pool is deep, but not dead.. speaking of which, i would LOVE to see mr. deadpool himself in a ghostbusters movie, ryan reynolds would pull it off without question, he would be in the same spot and position of character aykroyd was in with during the original. another guy who would pull this movie together with ease is jack black, it almost is natural with him, every time i see a movie of his, he is practically letting his actions show how good he is for the gb universe. i also think paul rudd would be a great addition too.. and as for the love interest, i would not complain if they closed the trilogy with sigourney, but on the other hand, bringing alyssa milano's character from the game to the big screen? definitely. those guys alone would make an amazing team as is, but i'm hoping it will go somewhere close to this, because this franchise cannot comeback successful without star power, a virtually unknown cast could destroy it..
TheRealGus - 5/20/2009, 10:15 PM
@lifej2: Damn, Baruchel would be an awesome Egon apprentice!

I think Alyssa Milano would be awesome as a replacement for Janine, only more balsy and ready to kick some ass with the team, let that be how the female addition comes in. But let her be more of a 'tomboy' with an attitude suggesting she's ready to play the big leagues, while any sexual tensions be downplayed. I'm thinking Vasquez in 'Alien 2' only hotter.

Now, for a good apprentice to Venkman, I swear, Dane Cook keeps popping in my head.
TheMyth - 5/20/2009, 10:31 PM
You all need to work on the straight man roles too! Without them, the funny guys aren't always that funny.
Phinehas - 5/20/2009, 10:33 PM
is it just me...or does it seem like a BUNCH of actors could fill the ghostbusters' roles?

@TheMyth not a bad idea dude...isn't Dane Cook a little too muscle-man though? maybe just a tiny bit, but he's definitely got the funny needed for the movie
Fartman - 5/21/2009, 12:48 AM
good candidates would be...

Masi Oka ............. (heroes)

Cedric Yarbrough ..... (reno 911)

Rainn Wilson ......... (the office)

Thora Birch .......... (ghost world)

Thomas Lennon .........( reno 911)

Jenna Fischer .........( the office)

Kal Penn ..............( harold & kumar)

Paul Rudd .............( knocked up)

Luis Guzman ...........( waiting) << heez kinda old tho

maybe even Dwayne Johnson ( be cool)

Elizabeth Banks .......( slither)

Craig Robinson ........(pineapple express) << hilarious everytime!!

i think any of these actors together would make a great film!

kcool - 5/21/2009, 2:57 AM
What's the point of doing another one of these now, other than saying "we're out of ideas so we'll do a sequel to an old 80's film"? Not to say it couldn't work with the right cast (and Alyssa Milano is a definite plus) and some good writers that have a new and clever twist on things. As long as they keep Will Ferrell and Adam Sandler far away from this thing, I'll probably be fair and at least give it a chance. The first one was one of the great classics of a great decade for films, the 80's, and the second one had its moments.
comicb00kguy - 5/21/2009, 7:30 AM
Okay, this movie NEEEEEEEEEDDDSSSSS Ryan Reynolds!!!!!! And the ONLY female that ever should be part of the team should be played by Amy Adams!!!!! A nerd is needed as well and a fat guy could be cool so if we put those two together, it could very well be THE BEST chance for Jonah Hill to get back into my good graces IF, AND ONLY IF, he gives me more of his "Grandma's Boy" persona and totally ditches his lame ass "Superbad" thing he was going for. And of course the token black guy. For this we need someone that is LEGITIMATELY funny AND has acting talents. From watching "Be Kind Rewind", Mos Def didn't have either of those (sorry to disagree Myth). Chapelle is a tad "undertalented" and would make a spoof of this movie. This is probably the hardest part to cast IMO. What i think this movie needs is a "Black Crewman #6" a la Sam Rockwell and who better for that than his co-star Daryl Mitchell from Galaxy Quest. So here's my casting list:

Ryan Reynolds
Amy Adams
Jonah Hill
Daryl Mitchell

With of course the original guys running the show from the base of operations.
Shaman - 5/21/2009, 7:38 AM
"But no more females epically Eliza Dushku. That makes me not want to see the movie. Hopefully Vince Vaughn and maybe Jack Black will be included."

hahahahaha good joke, no seriously good joke.
SoulAllFlush - 5/21/2009, 9:12 AM
Alright. After reading all of these posts. I've decided to take my personal favorites. I think this movie needs to put some actors together that have not been in a dozen movies together already. It also needs to NOT have show stealers such as Jack Black, Will Ferrell or Ben Stiller. So this is what I've come up with:

Rainn Wilson
Paul Rudd
Mos Def
Simon Pegg
Deathlok - 5/21/2009, 10:01 AM
Rainn Wilson sucks!!! "The Rocker", "The last Mimzy"... come on!!! He looks like a Mimzy. Dude was the only one that litterally looked like a real alien on Galaxy Quest. LOL Of course i'm just having fun, to each's own but if he's in, i'm out :)

Hey, any of you guys find that Paul Rudd looks like George Newbern??? I thought Paul was the guy with the jeep in "Adventures in Babysitting" but turns out it was Newbern... Wow, that was stimulating :P
Shaman - 5/21/2009, 10:24 AM
Paul Rudd (Winston)
Adam Sandler (Raymond)
Owen Wilson (Egon)
Ryan Reynolds (Dr. Venkman)
Sean William Scott (Key Master)
Megan Fox (Gate Keeper)

GOTHAMknights2012 - 5/21/2009, 11:29 AM
Or Seth Rogan or Jonah Hill as Raymond instead od Sandler.
GOTHAMknights2012 - 5/21/2009, 11:33 AM
You do realise that Winston is black right???

And Adam West should be the mayor of Gotham. He's doing a bang up job in Quahog!!!
Shaman - 5/21/2009, 11:35 AM
Thats why Paul Rudd would be a badass ghostbuster named winston. Doesn't have to be black.

GOTHAMknights2012 - 5/21/2009, 11:38 AM
Jeremy Piven as the Jacka$$ from the environmental dptmnt. Dean Pritchard Old School.
GOTHAMknights2012 - 5/21/2009, 11:40 AM
Ah Jeremy Piven... i love that guy!!! He's always as entertaining as John Favreau was in Daredevil as Foggy!!! Those two should be in a comedy together about brotherly love and shit :))
Shaman - 5/21/2009, 11:49 AM
New Ghostbusters made up of women? ..What happens when they break a nail? J/K... having fun w/it!

Who would call really? Me... like in the Amityville Horror.. when they said "Get Out!"... my ass would get the f* out...with the peace sign up... No joke. Like Eddie Murphy said.. "yeah, its nice but we got to go!!!"
KeepItReal - 5/21/2009, 12:11 PM
All depending if it's one of those kinky ghosts like the one that we saw taking off Raymond belt :)) Why don't those ones exist huh??? Would keep a lot of mariages alive!
Shaman - 5/21/2009, 12:24 PM
SHIT..dead is dead... gone is gone... I'd be gone.. She's dead...If he wants to stay..peace out! I gots to go! haha!
KeepItReal - 5/21/2009, 12:50 PM
OH GOD ANYONE BUT WILL FERRELL, I DONT SEE HOW ANYONE LIKES HIM...HE ISNT FUNNY AT ALL! ONLY MOVIE WITH HIM THATS ANY GOOD IS RICKY BOBBY! HE HAS NO REAL DEPTH AND ALL HIS CARACTERS ARE ONE DIMENSIONAL JACKASSES FULL OF THEMSELVES, CANT HE ACT? NO HE CANT! AND BEN STILLER IS CRAP! GET REAL ACTORS TO BE IN THIS OR IT WILL FLOP!THEY DONT HAVE TO BE COMEDIANS, BUT SOME HUMOROUS TENDENCIES IS A MUST. THERE JUST ARENT VERY MANY YOUNGER COMEDIANS WORTH A DAMN THESE DAYS.

WulfComicFan - 5/21/2009, 1:17 PM
I'm a big fan of Will Ferrel but i agree that his "feel" would just do the same as Dave Chapelle's would. It would spoof it to smitherines.
Shaman - 5/21/2009, 1:40 PM
here's my list

jason segal, craig robinson, fred armisen, paul rudd, and linda cardellini
niceguyeddie - 5/21/2009, 2:09 PM
Damn you Shaman! Ok, yes those movies mostly sucked. But who but Wilson could play a better ghostbusting nerd? You must not watch the Office.
Deathlok - 5/21/2009, 2:10 PM
Hes hilarious in the office, i havnt seen any of his movies..but id take him over Black, Stiller of MOTHER OF GOD I HATE THE VERY SIGHT OF HIM Adam Sandler.
RorMachine - 5/21/2009, 2:23 PM
I would like to see
Ben Stiller
Dave Chappelle
Paul Rudd
John C Riley
Ryan Reynolds
akthunder - 5/21/2009, 3:44 PM
I was totally excited for the potential this movie might have.
I read and heard before from Dan a few writers from the Office [nbc] were at the helm. That at least was pretty cool. But all this sounds horrible to me.

:-/
TaffetaDarling - 5/21/2009, 6:50 PM
Jack Black? I don't know. If he could bring his charaterization from "High Fidelity" to the role as a know it all Ghost historian, ...maybe. He might tap the ideas that the originals wanted for John Belishi.

To bad Will Ferral is to big of a star to fit a team movie. I see him as the Murry replacement.
JYCowboy - 5/21/2009, 7:41 PM
Deathlok- Actually no i don't cause i don't watch TV period. I've always wanted to pic up the box sets though cause i'm a mega humonganoid fan of Steve Carrel.

Roar- "MOTHER OF GOD I HATE THE VERY SIGHT OF HIM Adam Sandler. "

Good god do i ever agree with you on that!!!

JYCowboy- Ya know, the thing with Black is... High Fidelity was his ONLY good performance and yes, we're talking about stellar proportions!!! School of Rock is IMO a great family movie and his second best performance. But he's been dead to me ever since the "Saving Silverman" fiasco! In the words of the imortal RDJ (from Tropic Thunder) "Never go full retard!". But he's basically the same monster that his "great" performance created as was Jonah Hill's Grandma's Boy performance. Now he can't seem to duplicate it without going insanely overboard. Jim Carrey got on that boat right after his last great performance in "The Mask" IMO.

And as for Ferrel "team" movies, Anchorman was the perfect team movie ever made in comedy and i can't wait for the sequel!!!
Shaman - 5/22/2009, 7:17 AM
they should get some comedians to do this. just like akrod murray, and ramis. get some of the guys from SNL like andy samberg. keep it comdians doing action like it was in the first too.
DrRockit13 - 5/22/2009, 12:50 PM
The Judd Apatow regulars would be the best candidates for this movie because those guys are funny as hell especially Paul Rudd
