I wish a mature adult gave this review. Instead, its like the equivalent to mickey mouse with all the childish pretending. LAME. The Hall of Justice replica was cool, but aside from that, the guy staying character of Hal Jordan was too creepy.

gambitfreak - 7/29/2009, 12:00 AM

grif - 7/29/2009, 12:15 AM
GRIF @ Go and take a flying jump! : D

I liked it, very cool and the animated movie wasn't bad either! Abit rushed in space (hopefully the Live version wont go into space until half way into the movie as HAL has'ta get used to his powers first), should be like SUPERMAN THE MOVIE,that type of feel, you can believe a man can fly (again), but overal the animated wasn't bad, i just new the made for the movie GL was gonna get it lol. Still better than most of MARVELS animated ventures! ; )

Great review guys again, don't mind GRIF, he don't get laid much! Heh heh. ; D

I bought Green Lantern: First Flight last night and watched it with a buddy of mine and my girlfriend. It was alot better than I expected. I actually like some of the changes that were made. The Weaponers were more alien looking and I really thought that was cool. Cant wait to check out Batman/Superman: Public Enemies and Planet Hulk. If you've enjoyed DC's animated movies up to this point First Flight will not let you down.

longbowhunter - 7/29/2009, 6:02 AM
the qward ppl rocked..scary indeed..but sinestro was sickk...just as good as wonder woman...kudos...now public enemies should rock..i would have rathered a batman vs superman a la TDK returns...cuz that wouldnt be a good concept movie for me on big-screen..but a raw brash animated no holds barred throwdown would rock!!!

Now come on you critics! Let's see YOU do something this fun. We need more video content like THIS, so get going!
ComicBookMovie - 7/29/2009, 9:07 AM
I really liked this movie. Spent more time in space then I would have expected, but that was just fine. Keep it up, DC.
Shadowelfz - 7/29/2009, 9:29 AM
Jman where on earth is that place anyway?
Rorschach01 - 7/29/2009, 10:10 AM
I agree with one review about the movie that it skipped over his beginning and got right to the action. It wasn't even explained on how to use the ring and here he was a semi-pro. Don't get me wrong, I loved it. I think DC still rules in the animated dvd sales. Can't wait for Batman/Superman.

It is really remarkable the collection Allen has acquired and like I said in the review we will be doing a 4 part review to cover it all.
jman1977 - 7/29/2009, 12:24 PM
Yeah Animeex they should have explored Hal Jordans origin a bit more. I mean, just an extra five minutes would have been nice. Still, I liked the movie a lot.
Shadowelfz - 7/29/2009, 12:26 PM
they should make a comicbook musuem.
legder20 - 7/29/2009, 2:19 PM

marcolanni - 7/29/2009, 3:13 PM

The new DC Green Lantern animated movie is pretty good. (Not as good as Wonder Woman though) it reminded me of Training Day but in space. (WW was more like 300) My 3 year old son went nuts watching it he ran around with his hand clenched as if he had a power ring and asking me wear is ring was? Fortunately I had one lying around I think I got it from the New Frontier movie box promo a couple of years ago he put it on and called himself Kal-El Lantern then ran around the house as if were flyinh, he took it in the bath tub, and then final fell asleep with it still on. I am such a proud father of sector 2814 and be assured it will be in good hands one day. The one thing I dint like was the uniform I want to see Hal in the traditional green, black, and white and a little more back story as a test pilot and why he is called the Man Without Fear.

Just watched the movie and it was on point. Great action....I heard some people complain about the animation but I think it worked and looked great. This is definitely up there with Wonder Woman and the rest of the DC movies,.......BUT I have one major complaint. The bonus features were weak.....about as week as the Watchmen bonus features. Batman: Gotham Knight had some decent stuff in its bonus features about Bob Kane, and an in examiniation of the villians and how Bats relates to them, and then ur usual Bruce Timm's fav picks. Superman /Doomsday had some decent featurettes that were entertainin and in depth, as well as the Wonder Woman. Green Lantern, just dropped the ball(maybe I need Blu Ray)...Of course we have the usual Bruce Timm's picks, which are cool, but why the Duck Dodgers?!!? Being that this ia not a kids movie, why is that even on there?! And then the featurettes about GL, Sinestro, and the Guardians left MUCH to be desired. Where's the history of GL?....where is the history of the Corps?! Geoff Johns incept was decent enuff and really barely scratched the surface of the character and over the past few years since he had taken over the book. Not even commentary, which was weird as hell, compared to what we are used to from these flicks. I dig bonus feature action, and was a bit let down.
xmentheeight - 7/30/2009, 10:04 AM
Awesome Movie, the siniestro story rocked, I just wish he had spent a little more time on earth. This is what the live action movie should do for the first big screen shot for the lantern.
TheHumanBurrito - 7/30/2009, 11:25 AM
Id like to see GRIF do this! ; D
LEEE777 - 8/1/2009, 9:20 PM

darthstern - 8/2/2009, 7:30 PM
Sweeet.. I think you guys are pretty funny. Cool vid!

I do agree with a lot of people that they did rush the way Hal Jordan got the ring and everything.. Needed a little more back story..

@JTFtheNERD.. loll That's a great story man!! Makes me genuinely smile when you hear about children enjoying superheroes to their fullest!! I commend you for being a proud dad too.. Kudos!

Can't wait till my other half and I have kids :-P!
