Very cool,

Got a story for ya.

My father was a WW2 vet. He was stationed in Alaska which he never ever talked about. The brief times he did was it was a terrible depressing time for him. As a Texan he was very unicustome to the cold. He pulled KP duty so he could stay warm by the steam in the kitchen. I once told him in all his travels as a Rodeo hand he should have gotten a comic or two from back in those years. At the time, I then told him Acton #1 sold for $175,000 in auction. He was shocked at that fact. "You mean one of those Funny Books sold for that?"
I think I know what added to his shock. He and his barracs mates might have burned a few of those "carepackage" gifts to stay warm. My father passed in 1999 at the age of 82 so I will never know for sure. I was born late in his life. Im a '66 model so thats why I can handle this Interweb comtraption. ;)

very cool story. I agree with you, he was probably shocked to find out how much a comic book that he burned to stay warm sold for. You gotta do what you gotta do, very cool story, thanks JYCowboy

TheMyth - 9/4/2009, 2:20 PM
JYcowboy, awesome story!!

Rorschach, dude, that X-Men #1 in the background had my full attention!!!

Al, Out of curiosity, who is your favorite comic character if you could pick one. I'd think that may be difficult to decide given the plethora of stuff you have there and the knowledge you must have. Kudos to you for this, you truly earn your Comic Fan Stripes!!!

Dr. Donald Raper, Then [frick] off dude. No one told you to click on the link. Jman is a CBM editor and if CBM deems it worthy, then then it is. You don't like it, stay off our site. Matter of fact, if you can't have an appreciation for what Al has done here, you aren't a fan of comics, and I think every comic fan will agree with me on that. So, that said, what the [frick] are you doing on this site? Go troll with the losers at SHH.

EDIT: lol someone deleted that guys post lol. Delete his account too while your at it.
LEEE777 - 9/4/2009, 2:26 PM
Losers and firsters all at SHH lol! : D

MYTH @ i think this Dr Donald Raper has been deleted, cant see him lol!

EDIT: I just saw your EDIT lol!

I like these segments. It’s like going to a comic-con to me: it’s full of stuff I would never buy, but I still find it really interesting!

I really liked all the Golden Age Capt. Marvel stuff in this segment.

Jman has anyone ever told you that you look like Vince Vaughn?
jman1977 - 9/4/2009, 9:52 PM
@ longbow: Dude, that's funny, I get that all the time. The first time on CBM though.

Hey comic fans responding to some of your questions regarding episode #3. My favorite character is Green Lantern which I will reveal and talk more about during one of the up coming episodes when we cover the Green Lantern and Super Friends section of the museum. I am only 5'6 and J-Man is over 6 foot which does make me look even shorter maybe I should audition for the up coming Antman movie ha ha. I did watch the video and I do indeed say very cool a lot but the museum is very cool even super cool. Thanks to everyone for watching and great comments and please keep watching and I hope to actually meet some of you in person here at the museum.

Thanks
Super Al
longbowhunter - 9/5/2009, 9:56 AM
Jman I can imagine middle aged women coming up and asking for your autograph in the checkout line you handsome bastard. While I on the other hand am Al's height and get told I look like George Stephanopoulos or J.T.'s best friend from Step By Step, Rich Halke. What a world.
TheMyth - 9/5/2009, 12:20 PM
Super Al, That's aweseome dude. I'm not a big DC fan, but Batman, Flash, and Green Lantern are my top three DC characters. And it is a very cool place you've created, and everyone needs a catch-phrase ;)

Jman, dude, I didn't see it before, but you do look like Vince lol.
HallofHeroes - 9/6/2009, 7:25 AM
We have some pics of the outside of the musuem on our myspace site and you are welcome to use any of the pics from there.

Myth keep watching the future episodes and you will see the Flash and Green Lantern sections of the museum as well they are very cool and we have a huge Green Lantern section that you will enjoy.
Imran - 9/6/2009, 7:58 AM
The Flash!!!!

Can't wait for the next episode!! I watched them all in a row again lol.. Trying to spot new things all the time, there is so much stuff!!

Super Al, I like what you do man incl. dressing up as Captain America! Keep up the great work..

Hopefully, when I have enough money, my wife and I will be able to take a trip! I live in the UK..
